CFB DFS Picks, Daily Fantasy Playbook & Schedule: Saturday, September 26th

Before we discuss top CFB DFS picks this week, let’s take a look at the slate. DraftKings has a 12-game main slate with only afternoon action. Meanwhile, FanDuel’s 14-game slate spans both the afternoon and night. For the write-ups, we’ll focus on top players and value picks for both sites. CFB DFS Lineups: Top Plays

Luke Kienholz, QB, Louisville 

DK : $9,000 | FD: $10,900

Louisville’s quarterback has emerged as a DFS stud early this season, and his price tag has quickly risen. Luke Kienholz has DK point totals of 38, 40, and 25 over the first few weeks. He has two 300+ passing-yard games and some dual-threat upside, with 153 rushing yards and 4 rushing TDs so far. He now faces a Wake Forest defense that’s already struggled against Purdue and Miami (FL). 

Jadan Baugh, RB, Florida 

DK: $9,100 | FD: $11,200

Jadan Baugh is the most expensive RB on the slate for a reason. Florida’s workhorse back offers the highest floor/ceiling combo, especially in a likely high-scoring matchup vs. Ole Miss. He’s averaging 152.7 rushing yards per game and has already scored 8 TDs over 3 games. Baugh now takes on a defense that struggled to stop the run against both LSU and Louisville. 

Jeremiah Smith, WR, Ohio State

DK: $8,900 | $10,800

Per usual, Jeremiah Smith is always a top play when Ohio State is on the slate. The Buckeyes’ stud wideout was “quiet” last week with “only” 13.5 DK points, but it also came in a blowout win over Kent State. In the two games prior, Smith put up 38 and 33 DK points in his uber-productive role. He could easily go for 30-40 DFS points again in this week’s conference matchup. Illinois ranks 114th nationally in defensive EPA/Pass and 107th in defensive success rate vs. the pass. 

Nigel James Jr., RB, Notre Dame

DK: $6,400 

On the DraftKings slate, Nigel James Jr. should be in the conversation of top running back options. James exploded for 121 rushing yards on 26 carries and found the end zone as Notre Dame’s lead back last week. It’s encouraging to see him take on a big workload in the Irish’s first tough matchup. James could put up a big stat line against Purdue, which just allowed a whopping 369 rushing yards to UCLA last week. The Boilermakers also rank 136th nationally in defensive EPA/Rush. 

CFB DFS Lineups: Value Plays

Traylon Ray, WR, Ole Miss

DK: $4,600 | FD: $6,800

Traylon Ray was quiet in the first two games, but he went off for Ole Miss last week. He had 7 catches for 115 yards and a TD for 27 DK points in the win over LSU. The performance now puts Ray on our radar as a value WR play. He’s an affordable way to get exposure to the Rebels’ high-scoring offense in a potential shootout with Florida this weekend. 

Junior Sherrill, WR, Vanderbilt

DK: $5,100 

Simply put, Junior Sherrill is way too cheap on the DK slate. Vanderbilt’s top receiver just put up 31 DK points against NC State last week with 108 yards, 2 TDs, and 6 catches. He’ll provide a safe floor at this price and has upside for much more in back-and-forth contests like last time. Auburn ranks 119th in pass defense this year, and this game could be an offensive shootout. 

Ryan Browne, QB, Purdue

DK: $4,900 

Here’s another DK-only value. Rostering opposing quarterbacks against Notre Dame isn’t usually a good idea, but Ryan Browne is worth a shot at $4,900. Purdue’s QB has 28, 19, and 29 DK point totals over the first three weeks, while throwing for 300+ yards in each game. Yes, those were easier matchups, but Browne could rack up enough yards in catch-up mode to return value. He can also help you afford multiple top players.
