CFB DFS Lineups: Top Plays

Ty Simpson, QB, Alabama

DK: $8,100 | FD: $8,100

When Ty Simpson faced Georgia earlier this season, he had one of his better games with 276 yards, 2 TDs, and 26 DK points. We should see another strong effort in this rematch, especially with the game having real shootout potential. There has been an average of 63.6 combined PPG scored over the past seven SEC Championship games. Simpson will face a UGA defense that’s been shaky against the pass. The Bulldogs are 81st in the FBS in passing yards allowed in conference play, and 83rd nationally in EPA against the pass. Simpson is especially cheap on FanDuel for your Super-Flex spot.

J’Mari Taylor, RB, Virginia

DK: $8,700 | FD: $11,000

If you want to pay up at running back, it basically comes down to two guys. Texas Tech’s Cameron Dickey is an option, but J’Mari Taylor gets the nod as the top option. Virginia’s workhorse RB is averaging 24 DK points over his past 7 conference games. That includes 133 rushing yards and 2 TDs with 33 DK against Duke not too long ago. Taylor is getting 20 touches or more per game, and the Blue Devils' defense is giving up 33.3 PPG over the last six games. He should provide a strong cash floor with plenty of GPP upside in the highest total of the slate.

Carnell Tate, WR, Ohio State

DK: $7,100 | FD: $9,500

On the surface, a matchup against Indiana’s elite defense could scare people away from rostering the stud Ohio State wideouts. However, both Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate should be strongly considered, as both can go off for 100+ yards and a TD or two in this Big Ten title game. Tate gets the slight nod because he’s apparently healthier right now, and he usually benefits from defenses focusing coverage more on Smith. If you want to pay up for a WR in GPP lineups, then Tate or Smith should be at the top of the list. Don’t get too scared by the perceived matchup. This is still the Ohio State offense, which has dominated everyone.

CFB DFS Lineups: Value Plays

Broc Lowry, QB, Western Michigan

DK: $6,500 | FD: $10,500

First off, Broc Lowry is a much better value on DraftKings for your Super-Flex. He’s priced way up on FanDuel and probably not worth rostering over other high-priced quarterbacks. On DK, though, Lowry’s rushing ability provides strong value for cash lineups. The Western Michigan dual-threat QB is averaging 92.6 rushing yards per game over the past 7 contests, with at least 82 yards in each. He also has 14 rush TDs on the season. Against Miami (OH) earlier this season, Lowry ran for 82 yards and put up 18 DK points. It was actually his worst DFS performance in conference play. The floor was still very solid, though. He can easily score once or twice to return plenty of value in this rematch.

Zachariah Branch, WR, Georgia

DK: $4,700 | FD: $7,400

As noted above, the Georgia-Alabama game has shootout potential despite the over/under sitting below 50 total points. These SEC title games usually feature the premier skill players showing out. For Georgia, that’s speedy wideout Zachariah Branch. He should see a ton of volume in the UGA passing attack, just like we’ve seen lately. Branch is averaging 7.1 receptions and 65.3 receiving yards over his past 7 games. The ‘Dogs like to get Branch the ball in space, and it should provide a safe cash floor with GPP upside if he finds the end zone.

Jeremiah Hasley, TE/WR, Duke

DK: $4,400 | FD: $6,100

The Duke vs. Virginia game has the highest total on the slate by a good margin. Getting some cheap exposure to the ACC title game is a good idea, especially with this play. Duke tight end Jeremiah Hasley has emerged as a top pass-catcher and red zone target lately. He’s averaging 60.6 receiving yards over the past 5 games, with 3 TDs in this stretch. Halsey is one of the favorite options for Blue Devils QB Darian Mensah right now. In a high-scoring game, where Duke will likely be throwing more while trailing, Hasley can do enough to return or exceed value.
