CFB DFS Picks, Daily Fantasy Playbook & Schedule: Saturday, October 10th
Before we discuss top CFB DFS picks this week, let’s take a look at the slate. DraftKings has a 12-game main slate with only afternoon action. Meanwhile, FanDuel’s 14-game slate spans both the afternoon and night. For the write-ups, we’ll focus on top players and value picks for both sites. See our specific DraftKings and FanDuel core plays below. Here’s a look at the Week 6 CFB DFS picks.
CFB DFS Lineups: Top Plays
Trinidad Chambliss, QB, Ole Miss
DK: $8,700 | FD: $12,000
Trinidad Chambliss has been a trustworthy high-end quarterback this season. He’s put up 30+ DK points in all three power-conference matchups so far. He’s also averaging 332 passing yards, 35 rushing yards, and 3.3 total touchdowns in those games. After a bye week and that Florida loss, Chambliss and Ole Miss should be hungry for a strong performance in a favorable matchup. Vanderbilt is allowing 30 PPG and ranks 84th in pass defense vs. FBS opponents this season.
Nate Sheppard, RB, Duke
DK: $9,700
On the DraftKings slate, Nate Sheppard is the top running back to pay up for. Duke’s workhorse dropped 41, 44, and 37 DK points in his three FBS matchups so far this season. He had at least 145 rushing yards and 2 TDs on 20+ carries in each game. The Blue Devils are leaning heavily on him in the run game, and it’s resulting in massive stat lines. Sheppard now faces a Georgia Tech rush defense that ranks 123rd in the country. Giddyup!
Deuce Alexander, WR, Ole Miss
DK: $7,900 | FD: $9,100
We love Trinidad Chambliss this week, which makes his top receiver also pretty darn attractive. Deuce Alexander is averaging 107.3 receiving yards and 6.8 receptions per game for Ole Miss this season. He also just exploded for 134 yards and 29 DK points against Florida last time out. As noted above, Vandy has struggled against the pass this year. It makes Alexander worth rostering, with another productive game likely coming.
Wyatt Young, WR, Oklahoma State
DK: $7,200 | FD: $7,900
Wyatt Young has been a stud for Oklahoma State this season. In three FBS matchups, he’s averaging 132 receiving yards and 7 receptions with 26 DK points per game. The Cowboys’ passing attack relies heavily on Justin Bowick and Young, with QB Drew Mestemaker playing at a high level right now. The offense now faces a UCF pass defense that ranks 107th against FBS opponents this year.
CFB DFS Lineups: Value Plays
LaNorris Sellers, QB, South Carolina
DK: $7,200 | FD: $10,200
South Carolina may be struggling to win games, but LaNorris Sellers has still been productive for DFS purposes. The Gamecocks’ quarterback is averaging 24 DK points per game with at least 22 in four of five contests. His dual-threat ability especially boosts the value. Sellers is averaging 97.5 rushing yards over the past four games, which keeps his floor safer. He now faces a shaky Florida defense that ranks 113th in total defense vs. FBS opponents. Roster with caution, though, because there’s buzz that Sellers could be benched if his overall play doesn’t improve.
Sedrick Alexander, RB, Vanderbilt
DK: $5,600 | FD: $6,800
Ole Miss has one of the worst rush defenses on the slate. The Rebels rank 127th nationally in rushing yards allowed per game and 111th in defensive EPA/Rush. It sets up well for Sedrick Alexander if he can get enough volume. Vanderbilt’s lead back averages only 40 rushing yards per game this year, but he’s also gaining a solid 4.4 yards per carry. If Vandy can keep it close to stick with the run, then Alexander can return value. At least he has five TDs through five games.
Isaiah Mizell, WR, Arizona
DK: $3,900
If you want a dirt-cheap DraftKings value, Arizona’s receiving corps has multiple options. The Wildcats are dealing with many injuries at wide receiver and tight end. Giovanni Richardson, Chris Hunter, and Cole Rusk are all out this week. That thrusts Isaiah Mizell into a bigger role as one of Noah Fifita’s top targets. Tyler Powell is also an attractive value. As for Mizell, he just had 67 yards on four catches last game. He also scored a TD in the back-to-back games prior.
Caleb Odom, TE, Ole Miss
DK: $4,600 | FD: $6,500
If you want some cheap exposure to the Ole Miss offense, Caleb Odom continues to be a solid option. The tight end has 66, 88, and 47 receiving yards in his three games this season. He also has five receptions in back-to-back games. Odom is still very affordable for a decent DFS floor as one of Trinidad Chambliss’ favorite pass-catchers. As mentioned above, the matchup vs. Vanderbilt is a favorable one for Odom to keep it going.
