CFB DFS Lineups: Top Plays
Fernando Mendoza, QB, IndianaÂ
DK: $9,200 | FD: $11,500
Indiana is steamrolling teams almost every week, and Maryland is in the crosshairs this Saturday. It’s worth mentioning that the top tier of the quarterback position is much more loaded on FanDuel. On DraftKings, there aren’t many viable expensive options. Fernando Mendoza at least has the proven upside to throw for 4-5 TDs at his best. The Indiana QB owns a 24:3 TD:INT ratio this season, and he can go off for 30-40 DFS points in any given game. Maryland’s pass defense has struggled lately, ranking 91st in passing yards allowed in conference play.Â
Elijah Sarratt, WR, IndianaÂ
DK: $7,100 | FD: $10,200
Even if you’re not rostering Fernando Mendoza, his top wide receiver is still a top play. Elijah Sarratt was quiet in last week’s blowout win vs. UCLA, but a bounce-back performance should be on tap. Maryland has allowed big stat lines to opposing wideouts in three straight games now. It sets up well for Sarratt to follow suit. Before last week, Indiana’s WR1 was averaging 107.2 receiving yards and 7.4 receptions per game in his 5 prior FBS matchups. He’s also now scored 10 total TDs against the last 6 FBS opponents.Â
J’Mari Taylor, RB, VirginiaÂ
DK: $7,500 | FD: $9,200
Similar to the QB position, the top-tier running backs are a lot more prevalent on FanDuel. The DraftKings slate is kind of slim pickings if you want to pay up at RB. On both sites, though, Virginia’s lead back J’Mari Taylor can pop in his matchup. In conference play, Cal is allowing 208.3 rush yards per game (121st in FBS) and 5.7 yards per carry (128th). The defense has also allowed 11 rush TDs over four ACC matchups, and just gave up 167 rushing yards to Virginia Tech’s lead RB last week. As for Taylor, he’s getting a ton of volume in UVA’s run-heavy offense, averaging 19.2 carries over the past 5 games. The yards haven’t always been there, but 20-30 DFS points or more with a TD or two could be in store here.Â

CFB DFS Lineups: Value Plays
Carson Beck, QB, Miami FLÂ
DK: $6,700 | FD: $8,600
SMU is giving up 303.5 passing yards per game this season, which ranks 135th in the country. That fact alone puts Carson Beck firmly in play with the favorable matchup. Beck has admittedly been up and down from a DFS perspective, but this could be one of those ceiling games. We’ve seen it a couple of times already, against Florida State and South Florida. Beck is really cheap on both sites, considering the statistical matchup. He’s worth a strong look as your Super-Flex in GPP contests for the upside.Â
Bo Jackson, RB, Ohio State
DK: $5,500 | FD: $7,700Â
Ohio State should hammer Penn State this week, and the Buckeyes’ running game will be in a favorable game script with a fantastic matchup. In conference play, PSU is allowing 202.3 rushing yards per game (116th in FBS) and 4.8 yards per carry (103rd). The run defense just got crushed for 245 yards on 7.4 YPC by Iowa last game. Bo Jackson and CJ Donaldson are both playable as cheap RBs this week. Jackson gets the slight nod since he’s been getting the most carries and usage lately. The freshman has established himself as OSU’s top back, while Donaldson is mostly a short-yardage and goal-line guy.Â
Zachariah Branch, WR, GeorgiaÂ
DK: $4,000 | FD: $6,700
Florida’s pass defense has struggled recently. In conference play, the Gators rank 109th in passing yards allowed per game and 120th in yards allowed per pass attempt. Plus, Florida is notably worse against the pass than the run, so Georgia should be throwing it plenty in this matchup. That benefits Zachariah Branch, who’s seeing heavy volume in the Bulldogs’ passing attack lately. He has 17 receptions and 128 receiving yards over the past 2 games combined. Look for Branch to be involved enough on quick receptions, screens, and/or designed plays to get him the ball in space and ultimately return value as a cheap WR.
