CFB Picks, Predictions & Best Bets: Tuesday, 11/11
Tuesday night’s Week 12 slate features a pair of college football games. Let’s focus on one of those for our CFB MACtion Best Bets. Ohio is favored on the road by 1.5 points at Western Michigan, with a 46.5 game total. Good luck with your CFB picks!
Ohio vs. Western Michigan Prediction: Tuesday, November 11th
Both Ohio and Western Michigan have a 4-1 conference record and sit tied atop the MAC standings. This is a big game that could go a long way to determining the regular-season champ. Let’s pick a side to kick off our CFB MACtion Best Bets.Â
Western Michigan brings in one of the top statistical defenses in college football. The Broncos are giving up just 19.0 PPG this season (19th in FBS) and are 12th in the country in total yards allowed per game. Furthermore, the defense ranks 12th in EPA/Play and 34th in success rate. WMU is also strong against both the pass and the run.Â
Ohio boasts a balanced offense that’s been playing well lately. However, yards and points will be tough to come by in this road matchup. Notably, the Bobcats’ offense was inconsistent in two road conference games so far this year. Those games also came against two defenses considerably worse than Western Michigan has to offer (Ball State and Eastern Michigan).
On the other side, WMU can ride its running game in a favorable matchup. Ohio has a strong pass defense, but it’s struggled to stop the run. The Bobcats rank 109th nationally in EPA/Rush defensively while allowing 4.41 yards per carry in conference play.Â
Western Michigan has a reliable rushing attack to take advantage of the matchup and control the game. Dual-threat QB Broc Lowry can especially be a difference-maker, as he’s averaging 91 rushing yards per game and 5.2 yards per carry over the past 4 games. Ohio, meanwhile, has had issues with running QBs this season.Â
Let’s back the Broncos as home underdogs. It’s worth noting that Ohio is 0-2 ATS on the road in conference play thus far. The Bobcats lost outright as 14.5-point road favorites at Ball State, and needed a big fourth quarter to squeak out a road win at EMU two games ago.Â
Western Michigan is 6-1 straight up at home vs. MAC opponents over the past two seasons combined. It also helps that the Broncos are coming off a bye week while Ohio just endured a hard-fought rivalry matchup with Miami (OH) last week.Â

CFB Picks, Predictions & Best Bets: Wednesday, 11/12
Let’s now focus on Wednesday night’s slate for our CFB MACtion Best Bets. Toledo is the slight road favorite at Miami (OH), with a 44.5 game total. This game could go either way, but we’re looking at a team total for our CFB MACtion predictions.Â
Toledo vs. Miami (OH) Prediction: Wednesday, November 12thÂ
In last week’s CFB MACtion Best Bets, we successfully cashed the under on the Northern Illinois team total against Toledo. Let’s go right back to that betting angle as we bank on Miami (OH) to be limited offensively.Â
Toledo’s defense is among the best in the country. The Rockets are allowing only 14.6 PPG (9th in FBS) while giving up just 232.6 total yards per contest (2nd). They rank 3rd nationally in defensive EPA/Play and 4th in defensive success rate. The Toledo defense is also elite against both the run and pass.Â
The Rockets’ defense is also allowing just 11.6 PPG to MAC opponents thus far. They’ve given up more than 14 points in only 1 of their 5 conference games as well. Simply put, it’s hard to see Miami (OH) scoring much in this matchup, even with Toledo being on the road.Â
The RedHawks are averaging a solid 27.0 PPG in league play. However, they haven’t faced many tough defenses thus far. In the one comparable game, Miami (OH) was held to just 9 points through the first 3 quarters against Western Michigan, before waking up for 17 fourth-quarter points.Â
Take the under on the Miami (OH) team total for Wednesday night. This should be a low-scoring game overall, with Toledo’s defense setting the tone. The RedHawks were held to 20 points last week, but again scored just 6 points before the final quarter.Â
- Expert CFB Pick:Â
- Miami (OH) Team Total Under 20.5 Points (-114 on FanDuel Sportsbook)
