College Basketball CBB DFS Picks

CBB DFS Top Guards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Devin CarterPROVSTJN910037.52
Devin Carter has already been Providence’s top playmaker but he’s now locked into even more offensive production with Bryce Hopkins out for the season. In the Friars’ first game without Hopkins on Saturday, Carter had 25 points, 10 rebounds, and 46 DK with a 36% usage rate. He’s also posted 40+ DK in four straight games and six of the last eight. While expensive tonight, Carter is a safe cash stud guard in a home pace-boost matchup vs St. John’s.
RJ DavisUNCNCST850033.5800030.97
Though he’s slightly cooled off in recent games, RJ Davis is still averaging 20.6 PPG this season and 23.2 PPG over the past ten contests. He’s North Carolina’s clear alpha scorer and will be locked into heavy shot volume once again tonight on the road in this rivalry matchup vs NC State. He could easily get back to scoring 20+ points with 35-40 DK tonight in what should be one of the higher-scoring games of the slate.
Kanye ClaryPSUNW800029.03
Kanye Clary has been a consistent cash stud all season for Penn State in his high-usage point guard role. Clary is on fire right now, averaging 22.1 PPG and 34 DK over the past seven games. He’s regularly locked into heavy shot volume and is showing no signs of slowing down. At home against an up-and-down Northwestern team should help Clary continue producing like a top cash guard tonight.
Tristen NewtonUCONNXAV780034.58820031.66
Following a dud vs DePaul, Tristen Newton bounced back with 17 points and a stat-stuffed 30 DK effort last game vs Butler. The UConn combo guard continues to be a strong cash play with a floor of 30 DK or so and a GPP ceiling of 40-50 DFS points at his best. We can bank on him being plenty involved in UConn’s offense tonight on the road and in a pace-boost matchup vs Xavier. He’s a solid cash option on both sites.
Zakai ZeiglerTENNMSST770021.71600019.79
It took a while for Zakai Zeigler to look like his old self, but we’re finally seeing him play at a more consistently high level. Zeigler just had 17 points, 10 assists, 5 rebounds, and 44 DK vs Ole Miss on Saturday and now had 33, 25, 44, and 26 DK in the previous four games. The Tennessee point guard appears a lot more comfortable on the court after a slow start while recovering from last year’s injury. He’s priced up on DK, but the FD price is too cheap for how well he’s playing.
Bensley JosephMIAUL690024.11
One or both of Wooga Poplar and Nijel Pack may be out for Miami tonight. In that case, Bensley Joseph would be locked into a bigger offense role in the Canes’ backcourt. Joseph has been a secondary scorer for most of the season, but he has stepped up lately with Poplar/Pack missing time. Joseph had 35, 41, and 32 DK in three recent games with some stuffed stat sheets and increased shot volume in his teammates’ absences. He’s an upside GPP play tonight while Matthew Cleveland is the safer cash option from Miami.

CBB DFS Value Guards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Sean PedullaVTCLEM570024.54630021.98
Sean Pedulla is more appropriately priced on FD, but he’s a nice bargain in the mid-5k range on DK. The Virginia Tech point guard recently missed a couple of games, but he also just exploded for 26 points and 31 DK in Saturday’s road win vs Florida State. That’s a good sign that he’s closer to full strength after some dud DFS efforts while battling injuries. Pedulla started the season averaging 17 PPG and 34 DK over the first six games of the season and it looks like he’s returning to that level. It’s a good buy-low opportunity.
Cormac RyanUNCNCST540020.96570019.36
Cormac Ryan has now scored in double figures with 20+ DK in four of the past five games. He’s still just a secondary scorer for UNC behind RJ Davis and Armando Bacot, but Ryan has carved out a pretty consistent role now. In the mid-5k range on both sites, Ryan is a solid cash value for likely 25 DK or so yet again in a higher-scoring, uptempo matchup. The road matchup might also play into his favor as some of his better DFS outputs have come on the road.
D'Marco DunnPSUNW490012.15
D’Marco Dunn may come off the bench for Penn State, but he’s still a decent value tonight with how well he’s playing. Dunn has scored double-digit points in five of the last six games since he started consistently getting 20-25 minutes in the reserve role. Dunn’s DFS value mostly comes from the points scored, so he’s a risky cash play. Still, he’s worth GPP consideration while priced below 5k on the DK slate.
Shakeel MooreMSSTTENN490014.61490014.32
Since entering Mississippi State’s starting lineup in December, Shakeel Moore is averaging 10.5 PPG with double-digit points scored in five of six games. He’s also averaging 18 DK over the past five games with two 20+ DK performances. Moore was one of this team’s offensive leaders in the second half of last season and he’s clearly responding well to the starting role so far this year. The matchup vs Tennessee is tough, but Moore can still return value at sub-5k on both sites.
Corey Floyd Jr.PROVSTJN390010.05
Corey Floyd moved into Providence’s starting lineup last game with Bryce Hopkins now out for the season. He didn’t do much (just 5.5 DK), but he still logged 29 minutes as a starter. It’s worth noting that Floyd did put up 19 DK in the previous game after Hopkins went out early. He appears to be locked into more playing time now in Hopkins' absence and Providence using a tight rotation. He’s more likely to return value and worth a look sub-4k on the DK slate with the home pace-boost matchup.
Christian WatsonMIAUL37008.05
Miami has multiple injuries to monitor for tonight’s game. It’s possible both or either Wooga Poplar and Nijel Pack are out with lingering injuries. Norchad Omier is also questionable but more likely to play. If Poplar and/or Pack are out, then Christian Watson could be asked to play a lot for Miami. The sophomore stepped into 25 and 26 minutes in two recent games with Pack out and he put up 26 and 19 DK in those contests. Watson is one of the only Miami bench guys to see meaningful minutes lately and he could easily return value while locked into more playing time if his teammates are sidelined here.

CBB DFS Top Forwards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Hunter DickinsonKUUCF980043.25
Hunter Dickinson has been playing at an All-American level all season, averaging 19.4 PPG and 12.4 RPG so far. He just went off for 30 points, 11 boards, and 48 DK vs TCU last game. You can basically pencil him in for a double-double and 35-40 DFS points on a nightly basis with the GPP upside to break the slate when he drops a 50-burger. On the road at UCF could be a sneaky tough matchup and Dickinson is priced way up, so limit him to GPP lineups instead of cash.
Armando BacotUNCNCST840035.75850033.34
Armando Bacot is playing at a top-tier level right now, averaging 14 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 35 DK over the past eight games. He has the GPP upside to drop 40-50 DK and a double-double in any given night when he’s dominating the paint. There is some risk for a bust performance on the road here, so it’s tough to trust in cash. Still, the ceiling for another stud performance is always there and NC State could be in trouble if DJ Burns gets into foul trouble.
Joel SorianoSTJNPROV820036.97
Joel Soriano was previously just an upside GPP play when he was priced higher, but he’s now more viable in cash while in the low-8k range on DK tonight. The St. John’s big man is averaging 17.3 PPG, 10.3 RPG, and 37 DK this season and now has 30+ DK in eight of the last nine games. Soriano should have the upper hand over Providence’s frontcourt at home here and he has a good chance at a double-double and 30-40 DK again.
Tolu SmithMSSTTENN670024.62710023.30
After sitting out the first two months of the season, Tolu Smith recently returned from his foot injury. The Mississippi St center has come off the bench in his first two games back, playing 19 and 20 minutes. Despite the limited playing time, Smith has been efficient with 28 and 20 DK in these two games while averaging 14.5 points and 6 rebounds. If he gets back to 30 minutes or so tonight, then the GPP upside is there to smash the slate with his elite talent in the paint. He’s hard to trust in cash, especially against Tennessee’s stout defense, but Smith has potential while priced lower than he regularly would be.
Jamison BattleOSUWISC650025.65680022.83
If you want to fade some of the higher-priced bigs in GPP lineups, Jamison Battle is an upside option. The Ohio State power forward is averaging 18.3 PPG and 31 DK over the past four games with 5+ made threes in four straight too. Battle’s 3-point shooting is what gives him a higher GPP ceiling. He’s draining 45% from deep while launching 6-10 attempts from three in most games. Wisconsin has a below-average 3-point defense and Battle could easily stay hot at home in this spot.

CBB DFS Value Guards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Samson JohnsonUCONNXAV510015.12490014.53
Donovan Clingan is out again, so Samson Johnson will get another start at center for UConn. He’s been a solid value play in Clingan’s absence with 26, 17, and 21 DK in the past three starts. Johnson is really affordable on both sites as a cash salary-saver despite playing on the road here. Xavier presents a pace-boost matchup and is a poor defensive rebounding team. Johnson can do enough to return value just like he’s done lately with Clingan out.
C.J. WalkerUCFKU430013.08
After missing the first part of the season due to a knee injury, C.J. Walker has now been back for three games. He’s been coming off the bench but his minutes have also gone up in each of the three games since returning. Walker is a nice buy-low GPP dart while priced below 5k on the DK slate. He has the talent to score double-digit points with 20-25 DK if he gets more playing time tonight.
Brady DunlapSTJNPROV40008.3
Brady Dunlap was previously barely doing anything for St. John’s but he’s emerged as a legit DFS play now. The freshman has played 28 and 31 minutes in the past two contests and even moved into the starting lineup last game with Chris Ledlum out. Dunlap has scored in double figures in both of these past two games with 20 and 18 DK. Keep an eye on Ledlum's status, but Dunlap may have earned more playing time moving forward anyway. If he continues on this trend, then he won’t be priced at 4k on DK for much longer.
Luke HungerNWPSU40007.81
Luke Hunger has seen a sudden uptick in playing time and role lately and has emerged as a viable DFS value. He has 10 points scored and 19 minutes played in back-to-back games after previously seeing limited floor time. Hunger even moved into Northwestern’s starting lineup last game over Matthew Nicholson, who’s seen his role reduced. If he continues the hot play, then Hunger is a clear value at 4k flat on DK.
AJ CaseyMIAUL38008.41
Keep an eye out for Miami’s injury news ahead of tonight’s game. Wooga Poplar and Nijel Pack could both be out and Norchad Omier is questionable (but also expected to play). Depending on who plays, AJ Casey could be thrust into a bigger role in the frontcourt. He would definitely benefit more from Omier being out, but a Poplar or Pack absence would shorten Miami’s rotation and depth enough to where Casey will be needed. He normally wouldn’t be in play, but he’s worth a GPP dart pending the injury news.
