Kansas State- 76.00
TOP GUARDS
Jamir Harris (Seton Hall) Opp FDU ($8.5K DK/$4.7K FD)
Harris is a combo guard transfer from American and should be a safe cash play tonight. He was a prolific scorer for the Eagles averaging 20.5 points, 3.5 assists and 2.8 rebounds last year and is capable of putting up big games- scoring 33 points against Loyola-MD and 30 against Navy. Harris is not afraid to shoot the 3 and shot 44% from beyond the arc last year and 40% the year before.
Tyrece Radford (Texas A&M) Opp NFLA ($8.3K DK)
Buzz Williams recruited Radford to Virginia Tech and now gets his man back as a transfer to Texas A&M. Radford should immediately step in as the top dog for the Aggies after being the #2 scorer for Viginia Tech last year. He is a productive player that will fill the stat sheet and should shoot more in his new surroundings. In the Aggies exhibition game against Texas A&M-Kingsville Radford tied as the top scorer of the night with 13 points and added a team-high seven rebounds.
Caleb Houstan G/F (Michigan) Opp BUFF ($7.3K DK/$5.6K FD)
Houstan is Michigan’s highest rated 5-star recruit and has already been named a preseason All-Big Ten selection before even playing a regular season college game. Houstan is beyond his years in playing maturity and is the type of player that should fit right into Michigan’s offensive scheme- he can shoot, has ability at the rim and plays strong defense. He played 24 minutes against Wayne State in their exhibition game putting up 10 points shooting 3/7 from the field and grabbing five rebounds.
Alondes Williams (Wake Forest) Opp W&M ($6.5K DK)
Coming in from Oklahoma Williams should be the centerpiece of the Wake Forest squad after averaging 6.7 points and 2.8 rebounds a game for the Sooner last season. The 6’5” graduate wing guard is an exciting explosive player with plenty of experience and is solid on both ends of the court. Williams scored a season high 15 points last season in the March Madness Round of 32 against #1 ranked Gonzaga.
Other Top Guards to Consider:
DeVante’ Jones (Michigan) $9.5K DK/$6.0K FD
Jared Rhoden (Seton Hall) G/F $9.2K DK/$6.5K FD (check status)
Marcus Williams (Texas A&M) $8.1K DK
Nijel Pack (Kansas State) $7.9K DK
Mark Smith (Kansas State) $6.2K DK
VALUE GUARDS
Kadary Richmond (Seton Hall) Opp FDU ($5.3K DK)
As a Syracuse freshman last season, Richmond finished as the only player to record a steal rate north of 4.5% while also having a block rate over 2.7%. Richmond started for the Pirates in their exhibition game and scored eight points with 10 rebounds while providing a presence in the paint. The smooth, pass first sophomore will be filling a huge hole at the point position which will in turn help find open shots for Jared Rhoden who is also in play as a top GPP candidate tonight.
MJ Randolph (Florida A&M) Opp @KSU ($5.9K DK)
Senior guard Randolph earned All-MEAC First Team and All-Defensive Team honors last season and immediately becomes one of the top players in the SWAC after A&M joins the league after spending years in the MEAC. Randolph is the total package for the Rattlers after averaging 15.3 ppg, 6.4 rpg and 4.4 apg last season.
Ronaldo Segu (Buffalo) Opp @MICH ($4.8K DK/$5.0K FD)
Segu is a prolific playmaker and underrated defensive player who is expected to have a breakout year in the MAC Conference. The senior point guard played in all 25 games last season for the Bulls averaging 13.3 points and a team-best 4.3 assists per game plus scored in double figures 17 times. If Buffalo can keep anywhere close to Michigan tonight it will be on the back of Segu.
Yuri Covington (William & Mary) Opp @WAKE ($3.9K DK)
Anytime you can get a player that plays 73% of his teams’ minutes for sub-$4K it is worth the look. Covington is an exciting 6’1” guard who should even get a DFS boost this season as he will spend more time at the shooting guard position than being the team’s primary ball handler like last season. He made 33% of his 3-pointers last year and should turn into a consistent double-digit scoring threat this season.
Other Value Guards to Consider:
Jose Placer (North Florida) $5.8K DK
Myles Cale (Seton Hall) $5.1K G/F
Brandon Carroll (William & Mary) $3.0K
Connor Kochera (William & Mary) $5.2K
TOP FORWARDS
Hunter Dickinson (Michigan) Opp BUFF ($8.7K DK/$7.6K FD)
Dickinson is a stud and matchup proof- and to think a year ago he was coming off the bench to give Austin Davis a breather every now and then. By the end of the season, he was one of the best and was Michigan’s leading scorer, averaging 14.1 points, 7.4 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game. Buffalo is not a big team so if Dickinson stays out of foul trouble, he could break the slate.
Jake LaRavia (Wake Forest) Opp W&M ($7.2K DK)
LaRavia who is an efficient scorer is creating a buzz as an exciting transfer from Indiana State. He’s a real good shooter and can be a difficult matchup plus is great around the post and a strong rebounder. He averaged 12.3 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 2.3 apg and was 31% from the 3-point range. A versatile player that can play the 3 or 4 position due to his ball handling and passing LaRavia should be an immediate offensive contributor starting tonight for a team that ranked last in the ACC last season.
Alexis Yetna (Seton Hall) Opp FDU ($7.1K DK/$6.4K FD)
The South Florida transfer should be starting at center for the Pirates tonight and should be a relied on to give physical minutes right off the bat. It didn’t take long for Yetna to make his mark as he had a huge performance in Seton Hall’s only exhibition game where he recorded 12 points, eight rebounds, two blocks and a steal in 21 minutes.
Other Top Forwards to Consider:
Anthony Polite (Florida State) G/F $8.2K DK/$6.2K FD
Mike McGuirl (Kansas State) G/F $7.8K DK
Quenton Jackson (Texas A&M) G/F $7.7K DK
VALUE FORWARDS
Jeenathan Williams (Buffalo) Opp @MICH ($5.4K DK/$6.3K FD)
Josh Mballa (Buffalo) Opp @MICH ($5.8K/$7.0K FD)
Wiliams and Mballa are two solid DFS players playing for a Buffalo team that hardly anyone knows. Buffalo is far from a pushover and may very well make tonight’s game with Michigan close and exciting. If they do both Williams and Mballa will be playing big roles. Williams led the team in scoring last year averaging 17.6 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game with a 25% usage rate. The All-MAC second team forward is a prolific scorer that can score from the outside with a smooth shot or take it to the rim. Mballa averaged a double-double last season and was also an All-MAC second team selection. Both are in play in all formats on DK but Williams in $700 cheaper on FD making him a little safer.
Carter Hendricksen (North Florida) Opp @TA&M ($5.9K DK)
Hendricksen is a 6’8” forward who led UNF in scoring last season with 15 points per game and earned First-Team all-league honors. He is an all-around great player who can catch and shoot, handle himself in the paint and is efficient at putting the ball on the deck. Considered the best pro prospect in the Atlantic Sun, Hendricksen can stretch the floor and makes for a solid GPP play tonight against Texas A&M.
Myles Cale G/F (Seton Hall) Opp FDU ($5.1K DK/$5.5K FD)
It seems like I have been playing Myles Cale for the last eight years in DFS. He has always been a scorer but has struggled with peripherals making him always a GPP play at best. He did show a little more of the ancillary stats in the Pirates only exhibition game when he had four rebounds, four assists and two steals. Note: if Jared Rhoden is OUT, Cale gets an immediate upgrade.
Others Value Forwards to Consider:
Ismael Massoud (Kansas State) $5.3K DK
Bryce Moragne (FAMU) $4.6K
Quinn Blair (William & Mary) $4.2K
Henry Coleman III (TA&M) $5K
