Top Guards

All the Duke studs are in play on the DK slate, but you just have to keep in mind the blowout risk and temper expectations. For Wendell Moore, though, it hasn’t mattered who the Blue Devils have played because he’s going all out and trying to prove his NBA Draft stock while Banchero and Keels take a back seat (for now). Over the last four games, he’s put up 34+ DK points three times and is averaging 17.8 PPG.
Nijel PackKSUARK800028.62660026.30
Arkansas arguably has the worst three-point defense in the country thus far and Kansas State would be smart to target that weakness tonight. Pack was the ‘Cats best perimeter shooter last season at 42% and he’s been on fire early on, going 7-for-11 from deep through two games. He’s a bit too expensive to trust in cash, but the GPP ceiling is definitely there if he starts draining. The FD price tag makes him a better play over there.
Jared RhodenSHUOSU760026.12710024.00
Since rejoining Seton Hall after missing the opener, Rhoden has immediately stepped into a high-usage role on offense and will continue to be the team’s best all-around player. The senior wing put up 31 DK with 16 points scored against Michigan last time out and he won’t shy away from this matchup vs. Ohio State. He’s a solid cash play on this slate and should see a higher price tag as the season goes on.
Andre CurbeloILCINCY680026.25670023.70
Considering the preseason hype surrounding Curbelo, he’s been relatively quiet from a DFS standpoint early on. However, that could all change with Kofi Cockburn now back in the lineup and giving a completely new dimension to Illinois offensively. Expect Curbelo’s assist rate and shooting efficiency to increase with Cockburn being a force inside and naturally helping the entire offensive flow.
JD NotaeARKKSU550040.25770037.90
First off, Notae is properly valued on FD but he’s horribly mispriced on DK - which will make him popular on the slate right away. He’s leading Arkansas’ regulars in usage rate and shots share early on in a combo guard role and should continue being one of their top offensive weapons all season. Over three games, Notae has scored 17+ points in each and has already put up 51 and 44 DK points in two of those. Near-lock on DK and still a great play on FD. While we're at it, Chris Lykes at $3500 on DK is extremely cheap as well and you can easily stack Notae/Lykes with Jaylin Williams.

Other Top Guards to Consider:

Boo Buie -- Northwestern ($6,400 DK / $8,000 FD)

Tyree Appleby -- Florida ($6,300 DK / $6,000 FD)

Trent Frazier -- Illinois ($5,800 DK / $6,600 FD)

Tyty Washington Jr.UKUAB570026.56
If you’re playing the DK slate, expect Washington to be very popular because he’s weirdly underpriced. The freshman is coming off a 46.5 DK point performance vs. Ohio and has looked more and more comfortable with each collegiate game. This guy is viewed as a likely NBA lottery pick and his talent is finally shining through after a rough debut vs. Duke. Against soft competition tonight, Washington should put together another impressive performance to return value.
Mika Adams-WoodsCINCYIL520019.88510018.98
Even though a matchup vs. Illinois isn’t the best, some of Cincy’s starters are too cheap to ignore on this slate. Adams-Woods is one of them who’s putting up just enough ancillary stats in a safe minutes floor without being scoring-dependent to return value at these affordable price tags. You can also look at John Newman as a cheap option from the Bearcats.
Bryce AikenSHUOSU470019520017.27
The former Harvard standout is finally looking comfortable in Seton Hall’s system after dealing with injuries all last year. He’s been operating as the team’s sixth-man but may eventually force his way into the starting lineup with how well he’s playing - highlighted by his 13 points vs. Michigan. At the very least, look for Aiken to become more involved offensively when Seton plays tougher opponents as they still try to replace the scoring production of Sandro Mamukelashvili. He's worth a look in GPP's as these cheap tags.
Meechie Johnson Jr.OSUSHU340017.12470014.90
Though Johnson has been replaced in the starting lineup by Malaki Branham, it’s actually helped his DFS value. He’s put up 26 and 19 DK points in the last two games while logging 24+ minutes and seeing heavy usage in both as a sixth-man for the Buckeyes. He’s appropriately priced on FD, but the DK tag is way too cheap for a guy who can give you 20 DFS points.

Other Value Guards to Consider:

Reece Beekman -- Virginia ($5,300 DK Only)

Tyler Moffe -- The Citadel ($5,100 DK Only)

Phlandrous Fleming Jr. -- Florida ($4,900 DK / $4,700 FD)

Malaki Branham -- Ohio State ($3,900 DK / $4,200 FD)

Chris Lykes -- Arkansas ($3,500 DK / $6,400 FD)

E.J. LiddellOSUSHU950041.62850038.92
If you rostered Liddell last slate when he put up 42 DK points at expensive price tags then you won’t shy away from playing him tonight. In that game vs. Xavier, the guy had 17 points, seven boards and eight blocks as a dominant force on both ends - though the Buckeyes ended up losing. It’s clear that Liddell will be a top offensive option for OSU all season and he’s now being more assertive as a defensive stopper in the paint. He’s now put up 42+ DK points in all three of the team’s competitive games and should be close to the same tonight.
Paolo BancheroDUKECIT860031.1
If Duke is on the slate, then we’re inclined to consider Banchero because he’s going to be a top pick in the NBA Draft and has the raw talent to smash the DFS slate on any given night. In this soft matchup with tons of blowout potential, though, it may be tough to roster Banchero in cash lineups. He’s already taken a backseat to teammates in other easy Duke wins vs. weak competition and tonight could be a similar situation. With that being said, he's so good that he can easily be the slate's top scorer - so boom-or-bust for GPPs.
Colin CastletonUFCAL840044.08860041.07
Castleton has been a stud for Florida all season and it should continue tonight - especially in a tighter game where his offensive and defensive presence will be needed even more. The guy has put up 40+ DK points in all three games thus far and should have no issues having an advantage over Cal’s below-average frontcourt. He’s a safe cash anchor for your lineups on both sites.
Kofi CockburnILCINCY78000830030.75
Welcome back Kofi! The Illinois big man finally makes his season debut tonight after serving a suspension to begin the year. Maybe there’s some rust to shake off, but we should expect Cockburn to be a dominant force inside against an undersized Cincy frontcourt here. People may be hesitant to roster him since it is his first game back, but if he’s in the starting lineup then it’s a safe bet he’ll be heavily involved in the Illini offense.

Other Top Forwards to Consider:

Pete Nance -- Northwestern ($6,000 DK / $8,800 FD)

Nate Watson -- Providence ($8,500 DK / $7,400 FD)

Keion Brooks Jr. -- Kentucky ($5,600 DK Only)

Jaylin WilliamsARKOSU410028.33680026.97
Anyone else guilty of a double-take on Williams’ DK price? Simply put, he’s massively underpriced on that slate and should be very chalky in cash games. Even on FD, though, he’s a great option as one of Arkansas’ best players in one of the higher-total games of the slate. Lock him in on DK slate.
Kadin ShedrickUVUGA430022.69
Usually we just tend to ignore Virginia’s games for DFS because of the slow pace and low total, but Shedrick continues to be a nice cheap option on the DK slate. He’s UVA’s starting center and the team’s best rebounder/shot-blocker at 6-foot-11. It’s just too cheap at sub-5k considering he’s put up 22+ DK points in three of four games thus far and the only time he didn’t was when UVA got blown out by Houston. Great cash salary-saver.
Tray JacksonSHUOSU420019.67510018.37
Though he doesn’t start for Seton Hall, Jackson is still a solid value on this slate in the 4-5k price range depending on the site. His size and floor-spacing off the bench will be needed even more in this matchup vs. OSU’s talent frontcourt - especially if any of the other SHU bigs get into foul trouble. Against Michigan last time out, he had 13 points, six rebounds and 22 DK points and played a key role off the bench. The Pirates will need that production tonight if they want to beat Ohio St.
AJ GriffinDUKECIT360012.4
On the DK slate, Griffin is an interesting GPP value. It’s been a slow start to the season for Griffin, who’s been returning from injury but is finally getting more playing time when Duke faces some softer competition. He just scored 18 points and 26 DK points in 21 minutes against Lafayette on Friday and could see more playing time and offensive freedom in another easy matchup tonight. It’s risky, obviously, but he’s too cheap for how good he is.
