TOP GUARDS

Michael Devoe (Georgia Tech) Opp @UGA ($8.6K DK/8.0K FD)

Devoe leads the Yellow Jackets in scoring at 18 points a game and this will be his last trip to Athens in the Georgia/Georgia Tech rivalry. With opponents trying to take Devoe and his offensive production out of his game he has been taking on a bigger role as a playmaker and there has been marked improvement in his footwork and quickness since last season. He will play the entire game and should see a boost in his usage (22.22%) making Devoe playable in all formats.

Jaden Shackelford G/F (Alabama) Opp OAK ($7.4K DK)

Shackelford is the leading scorer for the 4-0 Crimson Tide averaging 19.3 points per game. He is coming off a 37 DKFP game where he took 16 shots (made six) and pulled down 10 rebounds. With a team leading 27.4% usage rate and high implied team total Shackelford may be the best point per dollar play of the Bama starting five tonight.

Josh Anderson (Western Kentucky) Opp @MEM ($6.3K DK/6.8K FD)

The big 6’6” wing is a high percentage finisher and has started the new season strong with two 30DKFP games out of his first three. He plays every minute and has one of the safest floors at the guard position averaging 5.3 rebounds, 2.6 steals/blocks and one assist.

Other Top Guards to Consider:

  • Keon Ells (Alabama) GPP- $9.5K DK
  • Trevor Keels (Duke) Cash/GPP- $7.7K DK
  • De’Vante Jones (MICH) Cash/GPP $6.5K FD
  • Dayvion McKnight (WKU) GPP- $9.1K DK/8.4 FD
  • Jordan Usher (Georgia Tech) Cash/GPP - $7.5K DK/7.6 FD
  • Jahvon Quinerly (Alabama) Cash/GPP- $6.9K DK

TOP GUARD VALUE

Jalen Moore (Oakland) Opp @BAMA ($5.1K DK)

Moore led the nation in assists last season with 8.4 per game and ranked third in the Horizon League with 17.9 points on his way to First-Team All-Horizon. With 13 20-point games, 12 double-digit assist efforts and 10 double-doubles Moore is one of the best mid-major point guards in America and will not be intimidated by Bama. He plays every minute and has a usage rate of 30% making him the top value guard tonight.

Mark Sears (Ohio) Opp @UK ($5.4K DK/6.6 FD)

Sears is the go-to guy of Ohio’s offense, averaging nearly 20 points a game on near 65% shooting from the floor. Kentucky will be paying a lot of attention to Sears tonight. Ohio is a strong fast paced MAC offense and UK doesn’t exactly have the greatest defense. I like Sears in a sneaky spot tonight especially if they can stick with the Wildcats.

Tyson Etienne (Wichita State) Opp ARIZ ($4.9K DK/6.7 FD)

Nice discount on Etienne who is having a slow start to his season due to a non-covid illness. This is the American Conference preseason Player of the Year that has been a proven scorer and it looks like he will be back in action tonight. A tough game against Arizona but he will get the minutes and should be back in his role as the team’s go-to scorer.

Ker Kriisa (Arizona) Opp @WICH ($4.7K DK/5.5 FD)

Kriisa is a point guard that can make 3’s and he has not disappointed to open the season. He has 11-24 (45.8%) on triples and is shooting 9 of 16 on jump shots for a 1.688 per possession rate. Kriisa is averaging double digits in scoring (12.7 PPG) and has a 3.3 assist average as well as a 24 DKFP per game. This should be a tight game which would mean more minutes for the floor leader putting him in line to crush value at only $4.7K on DK.

Other Value Guards to Consider:

  • Que Grant (Wichita State) GPP- $4.0K DK/5.3 FD
  • Dallan Coleman (Georgia Tech) Cash/GPP- $4.5K DK/5.8 FD
  • TyTy Washington (UK) GPP- $5.6K DK/5.9 FD
  • Tyson Etienne (WICH) GPP- $4.9K DK/6.7 FD
  • Luke Frampton G/F (WKU) GPP- $4.4K DK/4.8 FD

TOP FORWARDS

Oscar Tshiebwe (Kentucky) Opp OHIO ($10.0K DK/9.1K FD)

Tshiebwe at $10K on DraftKings is flirting in Garza territory. Hard to argue when the player is averaging 18.3 points and 18.7 rebounds per game and more importantly for fantasy purposes a whopping 50.5 DKFP average. He is the only SEC player to record 56 rebounds in a 3-game span in the last 25 years. There will be regression since two of the three teams he has played were Robert Morris and Mount St. Mary’s, but we all knew that the former 5-star was a talent and he’s finally putting it all together. In play in all formats if you can get up to this high price.

Jamal Cain (Oakland) Opp @BAMA ($7.8K DK)

As Oakland coach Greg Kampe says- Cain traded in his Robin cape at Marquette for Batman at Oakland- as the guy they will be going to for scoring. He hasn’t disappointed averaging 19.3 points, 12.0 rebounds and a 40.3 DKFP average. Oakland will have their hands full with Alabama tonight but with the experience that Cain and Jamal Moore bring to the table we could see a much closer contest than expected.

Jordan Usher G/F (Georgia Tech) Opp @UGA ($7.5K DK)

Usher has been the most consistent player on the Georgia Tech squad. He contributes with peripherals with one double-double against Stetson (14 pts/11rebs) and nearly two more when he had nine boards against Miami-OH and eight in their win over Lamar. A safe play with a high floor Usher leads the team in usage (26.7%) and rebounds (9.3) and should get plenty of run in a tight contest with Georgia.

Other Top Forwards to Consider:

  • Paolo Banchero (Duke) Cash/GPP - $8.9K DK
  • Hunter Dickinson (Michigan) Cash/GPP - $8.6K FD
  • Jabari Smith (AUB) GPP - $9.7K DK
  • Jalen Duren (MEM) GPP- $8.4K DK/8.3 FD
  • Christian Koloko (ARIZ) GPP- $8.0K DK/7.7 FD
  • Jason Carter (OHIO) Cash/GPP- $7.2K DK/8.1 FD
  • Azuolas Tubelis (ARIZ) GPP- $7.6K DK/7.1 FD

TOP FORWARD VALUES

Emoni Bates (Memphis) Opp WKU ($5.2K DK/6.8 FD)

Penny Hardaway already has a new nickname for the freshman sensation – “Buckets”. It’s not hard to see why as Bates was just named the AAC Freshman of the Week and former five-star is already proving his worth. He is playing 30 minutes, is shooting efficiently with a 57% field goal percentage and scoring at a 16 point per game clip to go along with a 26.2 DKFP average, as long as Bates remains this cheap, he is a lock in cash lineups.

Trey Townsend (Oakland) Opp @BAMA ($$5.1K DK)

You can see that I like the Oakland value tonight in a pace up game against Alabama with the highest game total on the slate (150.0 points). Townsend is a “COVID” freshman that is averaging double figures in scoring (11.0 points) and has played all 120 minutes (40.0 mpg) across the Grizzlies three games this season.

Walker Kessler (Auburn) Opp @USF ($4.2K DK)

Kessler, a North Carolina transfer, is off to a slow start averaging only 4.0 points and 5.0 rebounds. However, he does lead the team in blocks (4.0) and has 3-point range so it’s only a matter of time before he erupts, and it may just come tonight against South Florida. When Kessler is on his game, he will make a devastating tandem with 6’10” freshman forward Jabari Smith ($9.7K DK) who is second on the Tigers in scoring (15.5) while leading the team in rebounding (8.5) and steals (3.5).
