TOP GUARDS
Paul Scruggs (Xavier) Opp KENT ($9.2K DK)
Scruggs carried Xavier on his back on Tuesday night as they narrowly missed being upset by Niagara. He made winning plays and was able to close out the game from both ends of the floor. You will get 30+ minutes from the Xavier leader and he should be back to his normal 14 points a game along with stat sheet stuffing rebounds and assists (4.1 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game last season)- it’s just that $9,200 put him in GPP only category.
Baylor Scheierman (South Dakota State) Opp @BAMA ($7K DK$6.2K FD)
All-Summit preseason first teamer Scheierman does it all – he led the team in rebounds (9.2) and assists (4.0) while putting up 15 points per game on nearly 50 percent shooting. Coming off a 35 DK point game where he had 10 points and put up 14 rebounds against Bradley, Scheierman gets tasked with a high paced Alabama lineup tonight. The Crimson Tide will have the size advantage in the interior so look for Scheierman to strike from the perimeter often. In play in all formats.
Jaden Shackelford G/F (Alabama) Opp SDSU ($6.9K DK/6.3K FD)
Bama will be leaning heavily on Shackelford, Jahvon Quinerly and Keon Ellis for on-court production this season. Shackelford averaged 14 points per game last season and didn’t disappoint in the season opener with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Expect the same tonight from Shackelford as Alabama will be playing in the highest scoring game of the night and carrying a slate high 86.50 team implied.
Other Top Guards to Consider:
Keon Ellis (Alabama) Cash/GPP $8.7K DK/$6.4K FD
Kendric Davis (SMU) GPP $8.4K FD
Josh Anderson (WKU) Cash/GPP $6.6K DK
Tae Hardy (USM) GPP $6.9K DK
Michael Weathers (SMU) $5.7K FD
Dayvion McKnight (WKU) Cash/GPP $7.4K DK
Matt Bradley (SDSU) GPP $7.8K DK/$7.3K FD
TOP VALUE GUARDS
Noah Freidel (South Dakota State) Opp @BAMA ($5.1K DK/$5.9K FD)
Freidel missed the second half of the season last year but made his return in style on Tuesday night scoring 13 first half points and finishing with 16 overall to help SDSU beat Bradley 81-65 in their season opener. Freidel’s return will only help the play of guys like Baylor Scheierman so expect a solid game from both.
Sincere Carry (Kent State) Opp @XAV ($3.8K DK)
Carry is one of Kent State’s exciting newcomers after transferring from Duquesne. Named to the All-MAC preseason team he averages 5.5 assists per game over his career has scored double digits in 38 of 58 games, averaging over 12 points a game last season. Should see 25-30 minutes tonight making a top value at only $3,800.
Luke Frampton G/F (Western Kentucky) Opp @ MINN ($4.4K DK)
Frampton is expected to be on of the Hilltoppers top outside shooters this season. He hasn’t disappointed so far by connecting on 6-of-14 three pointers during WKU’s exhibition games and then put up 11 shots in their season opener. Frampton was a solid reserve player last season after transferring from Davidson and will see a big bump in minutes as evidenced by his 37 played during the opener against Alabama State.
Hunter Cattoor (Virginia Tech) Opp @NAVY ($4.7K DK)
Cattoor is firmly in place in the two-guard spot for Tech. He has made three or more 3-pointers in 12 games as a Tech player and shot over 40% from deep in 31 games. 90 of his 126 field goals made (71.4%) come from beyond the arc. Safe to say Hunter Cattoor will be launching three pointers tonight
Other Value Guards to Consider:
Jamal Shead (Houston) Cash/GPP $3.6K FD Only
Te’Jon Lucas (BYU) Cash/GPP $4.8K FD Only
John Carter Jr. (Navy) GPP $5.6K DK Only
Alex Arians (SDSU) GPP $4.4K DK/$5.4K FD
Luke Loewe (MINN) Cash/GPP $5.0K DK Only
TOP FORWARDS
Paolo Banchero (Duke) Opp ARMY ($9.5K DK)
Banchero had one of the best season openers from a prospect since Zion Williamson back in 2018. Banchero scored 22 points and had seven rebounds in the Garden and looked and played like a senior. He will be the top play on the board on most night’s this season, but can you get up to $9,500 in cash games? It will be tough, but Banchero is a great GPP play.
Jordan Brown (Louisiana-Lafayette) Opp @USM ($7.0K)
Brown transferred from Arizona and didn’t waste time in making his presence known as he led Louisiana past West Florida in their season opener on Tuesday. In his first game as a Ragin’ Cajun Brown filled the stat sheet with 14 points, seven rebounds, three blocks and a team high four assists. Brown is a relative unknown but will not be overwhelmed by anyone- especially high-major players so lock him in as a solid play tonight at only $7,000.
Jamison Battle (Minnesota) Opp WKU ($6.3K DK)
Battle transferred from George Washington where he averaged 17.3 points and 5.2 rebounds on 47.5% shooting from the floor last season. He is a spread-the-floor big (averaged 6.4 three-point attempts per game) and is the most accomplished shooter on the Minnesota roster. Played 35 minutes in the season opener scoring 18 points (27.8 DK) and at only $6,300 Battle is in play in all formats.

Tyler Stevenson (USM) GPP $6.4K DK Only
Trevion Williams (PURD) GPP $8K FD Only
TOP VALUE FORWARDS
Taze Moore (Houston) Opp RICE ($5.3K FD)
Moore has been starting for Tramon Mark (hamstring). The Cal State-Bakerfield transfer put in a big game in the opener against Hofstra playing 35 minutes and scoring 12 points along with three boards and three assists plus knocked down all four 3-pointers he attempted. If Moore is starting and sub-$6K he will be a top value of the slate.
Isaih Moore (Southern Mississippi) Opp ULL ($5.8K DK)
St. John’s transfer didn’t take long to make his presence felt as he posted a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds in his Golden Eagles debut. The 6’10’junior is kind of a face up stretch-four that can pass, dribble, and shoot and should make for a solid value tonight that could possibly blow up the slate.
Luke Frampton G/F (Western Kentucky) Opp @ MINN ($4.4K DK)
Frampton is expected to be one of the Hilltoppers top outside shooters this season.
Dieonte Miles (Xavier) Opp KENT ($5.5K DK)
Miles is a huge and athletic big man that has been hampered by injuries over his Xavier career. He looked strong in the season opener clogging the middle and recorded seven rebounds (five offensive) and added on two blocks with nine points for 21.3 DK points over 20 mins of play. GPP only at this point but if he stays on the court Miles may be a popular name sooner than later.
