TOP GUARDS

Javon Freeman-Liberty (DePaul) Opp PROV ($8.2K DK/8.4K FD)

Top overall guard on the slate. DePaul is a darn good team and they have only two losses (by four points each and in games when they were missing key players). JFL is the alpha and gets a chance to show the Big East what kind of player he is against a top ranked opponent. With David Jones questionable JFL will have to put the team on his back and that shouldn’t be a problem for a player with 28% usage and a 29.8% shot rate to go along with a team leading 19.7 points, 8.0 rebounds and 38.8 DKFP.

Alondes Williams (Wake Forest) Opp @MIA ($8.8K DK)

Can the Hurricane wings guard Williams? Isiah Wong and Kam McGusty are ACC veterans, but they will have their hands full with Williams who is arguably the best player in the conference right now. The Oklahoma transfer is averaging 20.5 points and a conference high 5.1 assists in his first season at Wake and has scored 32+ points in two of the last three games. Vegas expects this matchup to be the highest scoring of the night so why not grab the best player on the court? Playable in all formats.

Caleb Mills (Florida State) Opp @NCST ($6.5K DK/6.1K FD)

Mills has quietly become the Noles' top player and more importantly, he is playing nearly 30 minutes a game. He is posting a team high 12.2 points plus is pulling down 2.9 rebounds and 3.0 assists. He has a team high 24.10% usage over the last five games along with a 30.36 DKFP average in that time span. Florida State is a slight favorite on the road against North Carolina State with a 72.50 team implied score which puts Mills and his mid-6K range salary in play on both DK and FD.

Other Top Guards to Consider:

  • Kameron McGusty (MIA) $8.3K DK Cash/GPP (3rd overall top Guard behind JFL/Williams but a nice lower owned GPP)
  • Dereon Seabron (NCST) $8.7K DK/8.1K FD Cash/GPP (25% usage, 17.9 ppg)
  • Christian Braun (KU) $8.0K DK GPP (Blowout factor puts him in GPP territory)
  • Collin Gillespie (VU) $7.6K DK/7.0K FD GPP (23.1% usage, 16.2 ppg)
  • Izaiah Brockington (ISU) $7.5K DK/8.3K FD GPP (Tough matchup/great season)
  • Kendall Brown (BAY) $6.6K DK/$6.4K FD (20.3% usage, 13.0 ppg)

TOP GUARD VALUES

Tyson Etienne (Wichita State) Opp MEM ($4.8K DK)

DK value only. Will they ever price this guy, right? FD has him priced appropriately at $7.5K but he is a value lock on DK. Etienne is last season’s AAC Co-Player of the Year and this season’s Preseason Player of the Year. He leads the team in scoring at 14.7 points per game plus has a 24.4% usage and nice 29.3% shot rate. He will be high owned but get him in your cash lineups.

Bryce Aiken (Seton Hall) Opp VU ($3.7K DK/5.9K FD)

I’m a big Aiken fan and he will fly under the radar again. He doesn’t start but is now healthy and has played 29 and 28 minutes over his last two games. He is a veteran CBB player and if he gets near the 30-minute mark he will get at least 25-30 DKFP. The senior is a stat sheet stuffer when on the court and is firmly in play at a near minimum $3.7K on DK against a Nova team that has been exposed by Baylor.

Davonte Gaines (George Mason) Opp @KU ($3.0K DK)

“Ticket” Gaines is another DK misprice. The 6’7” lefty guard is averaging 11.1 points and a team leading 8.0 rebounds in 30 minutes a game, yet DK feels the need to slap a minimum price on him? This is a western New York kid that won’t be intimidated by a big school (just scored 13 against Georgia) and should make value pretty easy on this slate.

Other Value Guards to Consider:

  • Joe Girard III (SU) $5.9K DK GPP (Starter over 30 mins; 25.6% assist rate)
  • Ryan Nembhard (CRE) $5.7K DK/5.3K FD Cash (Better FD Value at 12.6 ppg)
  • D’Shawn Schwartz G/F (GMU) $4.5K DK GPP (Colorado transfer; 34.5 mins, 23.5% usage)
  • Jared Bynum (PROV) $4.7K DK/5.4K FD GPP
  • Jalen Terry (DPU) $3.4K DK/4.4K FD GPP (started last game; plays over 30 mins)

TOP FORWARDS

Justin Lewis (Marquette) Opp CRE ($6.8K DK/7.5K FD)

We have three elite plays between $6.5K-$6.8K on DK. First, we have Lewis who should be at least $8K. The freshman has been the best player in big upset wins over Big 12 teams West Virginia and Kansas State on the road and shined against UCONN last week. He plays the 4 (power forward) and possesses the ball the third most often in the Big East, is second best at drawing fouls, is eighth in defensive rebounding and eighth in blocked shots. He is becoming a complete package when you add in a 24.5% usage and 27.3% shot rate. Playable in all formats.

Ryan Kalkbrenner (Creighton) Opp @MARQ ($6.5K DK/8.0K FD)

Now that Kalkbrenner is healthy he is back to being a DFS beast. Three straight 30+ minute games means three straight 30+ DKFP games. He has been one rebound short of a double-double in two of those three games and has been incredibly efficient by only missing five shots in that same span of games.

Jake LaRavia (Wake Forest) Opp @MIA ($6.7K GPP)

This Wake Forest-Miami (FL) game is the marquee DFS matchup of the night with a 150.5 game total. LaRavia comes off the Covid list and immediately plays 39 minutes and smashes against Louisville with 15 points, seven rebounds and four assists for 31.3 DKFP. Now he gets the nut matchup and is under $7K with Miami’s best defensive big man (Sam Waardenburg) out. Lock in at least LaRavia or Alondes Williams in your cash and possibly both in all formats.

Other Top Forwards to Consider:

  • Ryan Hawkins (CRE) $7.2K DK/7.9K FD GPP (leading scorer 14.8 ppg)
  • Jayden Gardenr (UV) $7.3K DK GPP (26.7% usage and shot rate; 33% rebound rate)
  • Jared Rhoden G/F (SH) $8.1K DK/7.4K FD GPP (27.6% usage, 28.3% shot rate)
  • Alexis Yetna (SH) $6.2K DK/7.3K FD Cash (safe play; 30% rebound rate)

TOP VALUE FORWARDS

Josh Oduro (George Mason) Opp @KU ($3.6K DK)

Are two George Mason value plays too much for your cash lineups? We already discussed the value of guard Davonte Gaines and now we have an even better point per dollar play in Oduro. He is the teams leading scorer at 17.3 points a game and averages over 30 DKFP. More impressive is his 27.2% usage and 27.0% shot rate plus a 66.5% field goal rate. He is already being called the Most Improved Player of the Year in the Atlantic 10 conference and should be your main value in cash lineups today.

Nick Ongenda (DePaul)  Opp PROV ($4.7K DK/5.9K FD)

Ongenda plays about 25 minutes a night, but they are very active minutes. He is the team’s third leading scorer coming in at an 11.4 point per game clip and has usage and shot rates both hovering around 22%. The minutes are baked into the $4.7K price on DK making him a solid value play at forward in a pace up game against Providence.

Other Value Forwards to Consider:

  • Jesse Edwards (SU) $5.3K DK Cash/GPP (Still too cheap; 12.6% block shot rate)
  • Brandon Johnson (DPU) $5.4K DK/5.5K FD (Starter over 30 mins; 11.4 ppg)
  • Olivier Prosper (MARQ) $3.1K DK GPP
  • Arthur Kaluma (CRE) $4.1K DK/4.6K FD Starter (Avg. 22 mins)
