Top Guards

Kendric DavisSMUDAY850037.58
Davis is the most expensive player on the DK slate as a do-everything stat-stuffer for SMU. He’s one of the best point guards in the whole country and should be a DFS stud nearly every game with his regular high-usage role. Davis has at least 34 DK in nine of ten games this season with a few 40+ performances in there too. On a DK slate without many top-tier guards, Davis could be popular in all formats.
Johnny DavisWISCIU770035.18820033.19
The Badgers’ sophomore has taken a big leap forward as the team’s alpha this season after serving a sixth-man role last year. Davis is a completely new player now, though, and he’s been a DFS stud while averaging 20.1 PPG and at least 28 DK in every game thus far. His floor is very safe with a high-usage role as Wisconsin’s score-first point forward. Davis has gotten it done against power-conference teams all season and should continue to do the same vs. Indiana at home here.
Alex BarcelloBYUUTST750030.28760029.20
Barcello is back for a fifth season and wreaking havoc on opponents nightly, averaging 18.6 PPG and shooting 42% from three. He’s put up 29+ DK points in four straight and five of the last six with heavy offensive usage as BYU’s go-to scorer more often than not. He’s even more important now with Gavin Baxter out for the season and Gideon George missing time too. The price tags are fair for cash or GPP.
Markquis NowellKSUMARQ730025.61
Nowell entered the starting lineup last game with Nijel Pack out and took over vs. Wichita State. He put up 34 DK points with a stuffed stat line of 16 points, eight rebounds and four assists while running the point full-time for 35 minutes. Nowell was already leading the team in usage rate and shots share as KSU’s sixth-man, but he’s an elite-level play if starting again with Pack likely out again.
R.J. ColeUCONNWVU700030.47790028.49
With both Adam Sanogo and Tyrese Martin out for the time being, Cole will take on heavy offensive usage and shot volume as UConn’s de facto best player. The senior was already a high-ceiling DFS option before, but his floor is much safer now that he’s locked into the lead playmaker role for the Huskies. He’s coming off a 40 DK performance with both his teammates out and has 37+ DK in three of the last four - with a couple of those performances coming against stiffer competition like he’ll face tonight.

Other Top Guards to Consider:

  • Mike Miles Jr. -- TCU ($8,000 DK / $6,100 FD)
  • Taz Sherman -- West Virginia ($7,500 DK / $7,700 FD)
  • Te’Jon Lucas -- BYU ($6,700 DK / $6,800 FD)
  • Malachi Smith -- Dayton ($6,300 DK Only)

Value Guards

Damion BaughTCUUTAH600019.31480017.80
Here we have the rare instance of a player being more of a value on FD than on DK with this price differential. Since returning from a three-game absence, Baugh is back starting for TCU and was arguably their best player last time out vs. Oral Roberts when he put up 29 FD points. The Memphis transfer has taken back his lead guard role from Francisco Farabello and this team will likely rely on Baugh and Mike Miles to carry them tonight.
Steven AshworthUTSTBYU480015.56460013.79
Ashworth is Utah State’s sixth-man in a short rotation, which usually keeps him locked into playing time and DFS production despite not starting. He’s put up 14+ DK points in six of eight games and has 19 and 33 DK in two of the last three. Though he’s not heavily involved offensively, Ashworth can do enough with ancillary stats to return value here.
Malik CurryWVUUCONN450015.16450014.13
West Virginia is always a frustrating team for DFS with a deep rotation and the fantasy production usually being spread out evenly amongst starters and reserves. Curry, though, is an interesting GPP value if he continues to see increased playing time and role with Sean McNeil possibly out a second straight game. Last time out with McNeil sidelined, Curry logged a season-high 28 minutes with 14 DK. The ceiling isn’t great, but Curry’s floor is solid for a sub-5k player.
Spencer JohnsonBYUUTST410017.31510016.13
A lot of the BYU players get a bump in DFS value right now with Gavin Baxter out and Gideon George possibly sidelined again tonight. Johnson is one of those despite still coming off the bench. He’s put up 31 and 22 DK in the last two games with 30+ minutes in both and an uptick in overall role. The DK price is way too cheap for this increased playing time and DFS production.

Other Value Guards to Consider:

  • Luke Loewe -- Minnesota ($4,800 DK / $5,300 FD)
  • David Jenkins Jr. -- Utah ($4,600 DK / $5,500 FD)
  • Trevin Knell -- BYU ($4,500 DK / $4,300 FD)
  • Andre Jackson -- Connecticut ($4,200 DK / $5,900 FD)
  • Jordan Hawkins -- Connecticut ($3,800 DK / $4,600 FD)

Trayce Jackson-DavisIUWISC780042.97860040.79
One of the best big men in the country is always a top play if Indiana is on the slate. You know the drill. Jackson-Davis is basically locked into 30+ DK points as a floor against tougher competition when we know he’ll be fed in the post. He’s put up 67, 55 and 34 DK the last three games as a force in the paint on both ends of the floor. Hard to fade in cash without many other top forwards to challenge his floor/ceiling combo.
Justin BeanUTSTBYU740047.66900045.71
Bean has been a DFS beast all season and that won’t change tonight against BYU’s weaker interior defense. In a high-usage role as Utah State’s best player, Bean is locked into safe DFS production with legit 50-60 DK upside - as he’s shown multiple times already this year. Expect him to be popular in cash - especially on DK with the price differential compared to FD.
Jamison BattleMINNMSU680029.39660026.51
While most people roll with Jackson-Davis and Bean in cash tonight, Battle presents an interesting contrarian pivot at a cheaper tag. The matchup vs. Mich St is definitely a tough one, but Battle is still one of Minnesota’s core pieces right now and will be on the floor nearly the whole game in a short rotation. In fact, he’s logged 40 minutes in back-to-back games and has a monopoly on the power forward minutes right now. That gives him a safer DFS floor than most in this price range.
Both GachUTAHTCU410019.36710017.64
We have Gach listed as a forward in this playbook because he’s an auto-play on the DK slate as a massively underpriced guard yet again - but it’s more of a decision on FanDuel where he’s in the forward player pool. Gach has moved into the starting lineup the last three games with Marco Anthony out and has taken over as Utah’s go-to offensive playmaker. He’s put up 35 and 29 FD points the last two games while stuffing the stat sheet and being heavily involved offensively. Near-lock on DK but still a decent option on FD.

Other Top Forwards to Consider:

  • Isaiah Whaley -- Connecticut ($6,500 DK / $6,700 FD)
  • Race Thompson -- Indiana ($6,500 DK / $7,500 FD)
  • Marcus Bingham Jr. -- Michigan State ($6,300 DK / $5,600 FD)

Tyler WahlWISCIU530020.19540019.51
Though Wahl’s price tags have increased a bit, he’s still a solid cash value with a safe floor of production. Wisconsin runs a very short rotation and Wahl has a near-monopoly on the power forward minutes - which should keep him busy in this matchup vs. Indiana’s talented frontcourt duo of Jackson-Davis & Thompson. He won’t be involved much offensively, but Wahl puts up plenty of ancillary stats for a decent DFS floor of 20 points or so.
Malik HallMSUMINN430017.36460015.84
Despite recently losing his starting spot to Joey Hauser, Hall is still playing 20+ minutes as one of Michigan State’s better frontcourt options. He’s put up 25 and 14 DK over the last two games off the bench and could easily return value at his sub-5k tags on both sites tonight. It’s not a flashy play, but the floor is definitely there.
Akok AkokUCONNWVU360014.72550014.00
With Adam Sanogo out last game, Akok moved into the starting lineup and promptly put up 28 DK points in a season-high 22 minutes. Granted it was against Grambling State, but Akok’s DFS floor/ceiling are much higher now that he’s starting and filling part of the frontcourt void left by Sanogo. He’s decently priced on FD, but the DK tag is way too cheap for a starter who can give you 20 DFS points.
Fousseyni TraoreBYUUTST400018.5450017.83
Traore is now much more important in the frontcourt with Gavin Baxter out for the season. The freshman has been one of BYU’s top reserve players but he’s now going to see more time at both the four and five spots - especially if Gideon George misses another game tonight. He’s already put up 20+ DK points multiple times this year and is a bit too cheap at sub-5k on both sites.
Tristan ClarkSMUDAY360014.44
Remember all the hype that once surrounded Clark at Baylor? Well, a few injury-riddled seasons later has him at SMU now and he’s actually been productive in about 15-20 minutes per game off the bench despite not playing at all last year. On the DK slate, he’s a bit too cheap for the potential for 15-20 DFS points with his rebounding, shot-blocking and post-scoring skills showing some resurgence.
