Top Guards
| Player | Team | Opp. | DK $ | DK FPPG | FD $ | FD FPPG | |
| Scotty Pippen Jr. | VAND | STAN | 8900 | 30.1 | |||
| In terms of real-life basketball talent, Pippen Jr. leads the way on this slate and it translates to DFS production more often than not while leading Vandy in usage rate and shots share with heavy involvement on the offensive end. The expensive price tag might put him more in GPP territory, but he’s been good in the Diamond Head with 21 and 23 real points scored and 34 and 28 DK, respectively. | |||||||
| Hunter Maldonado | WYO | USF | 8500 | 33.98 | |||
| Though he’s playing in the lowest total on the slate, Maldonado stuffs the stat sheet enough to anchor cash lineups. He’s averaging 16.6 PPG, 5.5 RPG and 5.5 APG while putting up 33+ DK in four of the last five games. We’ll take that all day in cash, especially on this slate. | |||||||
| Darius McGhee | LIB | BYU | 8300 | 33.62 | |||
| In terms of DFS floor/ceiling combo, McGhee might actually have the highest among all the studs on this slate - and yet he’s on the cheaper end of the top-tier. The senior’s 34.8% usage rate is the fifth-highest in the nation while his 38.3% shots share leads all of college basketball. Even in a tough matchup vs. BYU’s stout defense, McGhee is too good to fade. | |||||||
Other Top Guards to Consider:
- Alex Barcello -- BYU ($8,400 DK)
- Nate Heise -- Northern Iowa ($6,300 DK)
Value Guards
| Player | Team | Opp. | DK $ | DK FPPG | FD $ | FD FPPG | |
| Noel Coleman | HAW | UNI | 5800 | 26 | |||
| Coleman is right on the edge of being a value, but he really shouldn’t be below 6k considering his role for Hawaii. The combo guard is averaging 18 PPG, leads the team in usage rate and shots share and has put up 34 and 31 DK in the past two games. He could end up being chalky on this slate for similar production as some of the studs in action. | |||||||
| Brandon Angel | STAN | VAND | 3600 | 12.29 | |||
| Though Angel plays a backup wing role in Stanford’s rotation, he’s way too cheap to be priced below 4k at this point. The 6-foot-8 sophomore is essentially the team’s sixth-man right now and he’s put up 15 and 28 DK points in the last two games while playing 25+ minutes in both. Angel looks like one of the better values on this slate if we can get 5x production. | |||||||
| Corey Walker Jr. | USF | WYO | 3000 | 8.75 | |||
| Walker recently returned from injury and he’s quickly earned more and more playing time with each game back. The freshman cracked the starting lineup last game and put up 19 DK in 19 minutes. It’s encouraging to see him earn more minutes and even get the start despite missing the first part of the season. He frankly shouldn’t be min price anymore and this is a nice bargain. | |||||||
Other Value Guards to Consider:
- Trevin Knell -- BYU ($5,200 DK)
- Junior Madut -- Hawaii ($5,200 DK)
- Trey Thomas -- Vanderbilt ($3,200 DK)
Top Forwards
| Player | Team | Opp. | DK $ | DK FPPG | FD $ | FD FPPG | |
| Graham Ike | WYO | USF | 8700 | 33.29 | |||
| The Wyoming center is a double-double waiting to happen and the only thing preventing that and at least 30+ DK is foul trouble. If he can stay on the court, Ike has one of the highest DFS ceilings on this slate - though the foul risk is real. He’s just a GPP play at this expensive salary, but a high-upside one. | |||||||
| Harrison Ingram | STAN | VAND | 8600 | 27.65 | |||
| You can make the real argument that Ingram is the better overall NBA-ready talent compared to Scotty Pippen Jr. as both faceoff in this slate’s nightcap. At his best, the freshman phenom can easily be the highest-scoring player in action if he’s dominating the paint on both ends. He can be a risky play if he’s not being assertive offensively, but the GPP ceiling is definitely there. | |||||||
| Austin Phyfe | UNI | HAW | 6200 | 17.53 | |||
| Since returning from a two-game absence, Phyfe has been seeing heavy offensive usage in the last couple games of this Diamond Head Classic. The UNI center has come off the bench but he’s been the team’s go-to offensive option more often than not in starter-level minutes. You can get 25-30 DK points from him at likely low rostership on this slate for GPPs. | |||||||
Other Top Forwards to Consider:
- Spencer Jones -- Stanford ($6,400 DK)
Value Forwards
| Player | Team | Opp. | DK $ | DK FPPG | FD $ | FD FPPG | |
| Fousseyni Traore | BYU | LIB | 4900 | 19.81 | |||
| Traore is one of a few BYU frontcourt plays who have stepped up since Gavin Baxter’s season-ending injury. Specifically for Traore, the big-bodied sophomore has put up 20+ DK in four of the last five games despite coming off the bench. He’s coming off a 15-rebound, 32 DK performance vs. Vanderbilt and has been playing well in this tournament. | |||||||
| Quentin Millora-Brown | VAND | STAN | 4800 | 17.65 | |||
| Though he’s been up-and-down for DFS this season, this is too cheap for Vandy’s starting center who’s put up 37, 20 and 27 DK points over the past three games. Millora-Brown is playing well in Hawaii this week and Vandy will need his size against the bigger Stanford lineup/rotation. He should return value in cash or GPP. | |||||||
| Kamaka Hepa | HAW | UNI | 4200 | 19.92 | |||
| The former Texas transfer is now a regular starter for Hawaii and he’s even more important in the frontcourt with fellow big man Mate Colina out due to COVID. Hepa should not be sub-5k right now considering he’s playing 25-30 minutes per game and is averaging nearly 20 DK per game - not to mention 28 DK last time out with Colina sidelined. Doesn’t get much better in cash. | |||||||
