TOP GUARDS

Christian Braun (Kansas) Opp MIZZ ($7.3K DK)

Braun has made many remarks about how psyched he is for this Border Showdown revival with Missouri. He is playing the best basketball of his career with 16.8 points and 7.1 rebounds with a 62.8% shooting percentage. With a DKFP average of 34.7 per game and the highest team implied total Braun is my top guard of the slate.

Jaren Holmes (St. Bonaventure) Opp @UCONN ($7.7K DK)

Holmes and Alonzo Verge are both in the same price range and solid plays, but I am leaning Holmes as a little safer. With Kyle Lofton day-to-day with an ankle injury Holmes has filled in at point guard and is averaging 8.5 assists in the last two games. He has DKFP games of 44 and 51.5 in two of his last three games played and is averaging 37 per game on the season. Even if Lofton does play Holmes is a safe bet to a minimum of 30 so lock him in.

Buddy Boeheim (Syracuse) Opp @GU ($7.4K DK)

Get right game for Buddy in a high paced game environment. He is in a slump, but he’s gone through these before and this is a perfect game to get that one-dribble pull up shot in transition swishing in the net again. He’s the true focal point of the Orange offense and if his brother Jimmy has another game like he had on Tuesday it will open up more opportunities for a player that plays every minute averaging 17.7 points per game.

Other Top Guards to Consider:

  • Alonzo Verge (NEB) $7.5K
  • RJ Cole (UCONN) $7.6K
  • Aminu Mohammed (GU) $6.3K
  • Johnny Juzang (UCLA) $7.6K
  • Joe Girard III (Syracuse) $6.2K

TOP VALUE GUARDS

JD Notae (Arkansas) Opp @OU ($5.7K DK)

A DK misprice here for Notae. He’s under-appreciated yet is Arkansas’s leading scorer. A high-volume shooter that the Razorbacks are leaning on now, Notae did it all in his last game scoring a game high 23 points on 18 shots and grabbing 10 rebounds against Charlotte. He will be high owned in a close matchup with Oklahoma but don’t over think this and get Notae and his 28% usage in your cash lineups.

Dante Harris (Georgetown) Opp SU ($5.9K DK)

Harris and teammate Donald Carey are both in play in a high paced game with Syracuse. I'll lean Harris by the slightest of margins as he leads the team in assists (5.0) and steals (1.9) to go along with a 13.9 scoring average. With an assist rate of 40%, Harris brings a nice combo floor and ceiling to what will be a high scoring game.

Andre Jackson (UCONN) Opp STBON ($4.8K DK)

Jackson and Jordan Hawkins are both in play especially if Tyrese Martin is out again (GTD). Jackson is $900 more but is coming off a few solid games and has been stuffing the stat sheet. Against West Virginia on Wednesday, he had 10 points to go along with five rebounds, one assist and two steals in 27 minutes. He has put up 20+ DKFP in four of his last five games and gets a pace up game with St. Bonaventure.

Ryan Nembhard (Creighton) Opp BYU ($5.4K DK)

One of my favorite sneaky plays of the slate. Nembhard has 30 DKFP upside in this game as he plays nearly every minute and is now the team's second highest scorer with a 12.7 point and 27.2 DKFP average. With a 18% shot rate and 35% assist rate Nembhard has pushed Shereef Mitchell into a backup role and has already been the Big East Freshman of the Week for three straight weeks.

Top Value Guards:

  • Jordan Hawkins (UCONN) $3.7K
  • Donald Carey (Georgetown) $5.4K
  • Au’Diese Toney (ARK) $5.4K
  • Kaiden Rice (Georgetown) $4.1K
  • Chris Lykes (ARK) $4.2K

TOP FORWARDS

Jabari Smith (Auburn) Opp NEB ($9.1K DK)

Smith is my top overall play of the slate. Yes, E.J. Liddell is a stud and one of the best players in the country, but this kid has been special. Through Auburn’s first eight games Smith leads the team in scoring (16.9) and rebounding (7.1) plus has 2.4 assists and 1.8 steals per game. He is doing that on 47% shooting from the floor plus 43.9% shooting from beyond the arc and 83% from the foul line – crazy numbers for a player this big. He’s already becoming a grab-and-go threat when pulling down rebounds and fits in nice with an 81.75 team implied total.

Justin Lewis (Marquette) Opp UCLA ($7.5K DK)

Lewis leads Marquette in scoring averaging 15.7 points a game plus is nabbing a team high 7.7 rebounds. This game with UCLA is projected to be high tempo and Lewis is the play that you may want. He also has the highest shot rate on the team, in usage (25.3%), plays over 30 minutes and averages 31.2 DKFP.

Cole Swider & Jesse Edwards (Syracuse) Opp GU ($5.7K/$5.3K DK)

Swider and teammate Jesse Edwards are grossly mispriced on DK and totally in play in the highest game total of the slate against Georgetown. Syracuse plays a tight rotation and pretty much the starting five plays the entire game. Georgetown is a bad team with a bad defense that plays fast and lots of points will be scored. Edwards was under $5K for most of season yet has put up 36, 40.8 and 34 DKFP games in his last five while being a double-double threat every game. Swider quietly has three double-doubles over his last five and could easily hit that again today. Both are playable in all formats.

Other Top Forwards to Consider:

  • EJ Liddell (OSU) $9.5K
  • Kobe Brown (MIZZ) $8.2K
  • Walker Kessler (Auburn) $5.7K
  • PJ Hall (Clemson) $5.5K
  • Tucker Devries G/F (DRA) $6.4K

TOP VALUE FORWARDS

Akok Akok (Connecticut) Opp STBON ($3.9K DK)

With Adama Sanogo out again Akok becomes the top point per dollar play at forward. He will get another 30 minutes and an opportunity that he belongs in the rotation. Struggled on the offensive side on Wednesday as he put up only two points, but he was a monster on the boards with 10 rebounds.

Ryan Kalkbrenner (Creighton) Opp BYU ($4.4K)

If Kalkbrenner could give us 25-28 minutes he would be a top point per dollar value. This is a player that scores 26-30 DKFP regularly on 20-22 minutes with great rebounding and block rates and could be in for a strong game against a BYU team that will get pushed around a bit in the paint and give up shots.

Kaiden Rice G/F (Georgetown) Opp SYR ($4.1K DK)

This Syracuse/Georgetown game is DFS gold with two high tempo, fast offenses, and bad defenses and lots of value plays. Rice may go under the radar here, but this is a guy with a 28% shot rate and 10% rebound rate to go along with a 24.9% usage and 14.5 points a game. Not too bad for a $4.1K player that will play 25-30 minutes in a 155.5 game total.\

Other Top Guard Values:

  • Kur Kuath (MARQ) $3.8K
  • Justin Ahrens (OSU) $3.8K
  • Zed Key (OSU) $4.8K
  • Jaylin Williams (ARK) $5.4K
