Payton (finger) will be considered day-to-day with a fractured pinky finger suffered Friday against the Knicks, Scott Kushner of The New Orleans Advocate reports.
This is relatively good news for the Pelicans, who may not be without their starting point guard for long. Payton figures to be able to play through the injury, although he'll be a game-time decision for Saturday's contest against Denver.

J. Embiid - C
Embiid intends to play in Saturday's game against the Hornets even though he is dealing with a swollen hand, Serena Winters of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Embiid revealed the injury following Friday's victory over the Jazz. He compiled 23 points (7/20 FG, 1/4 3PT, 8/9 FT), seven rebounds, two assists, three blocks, and two steals across 26 minutes in the contest. The hand issue reportedly goes back to a game against the Suns last season. Although he expects to play Saturday, the issue could be something to keep an eye on going forward.

Payton suffered a fractured finger in Friday's game against New York and has been ruled out, Jennifer Hale of Fox Sports New Orleans reports.
Payton had just returned to the court from an extended absence as a result of a hamstring injury, and he could be out again for a few games. The Pelicans figure to provide an update on his status in the near future, but Jrue Holiday should shift over to point guard with Ian Clark seeing a bigger role at shooting guard if Payton is forced to miss time.

Anunoby will not return to Friday's game against the Celtics due to a sprained right wrist, Eric Koreen of The Athletic reports.
While the severity of the injury is unknown, it will keep Anunoby out for the rest of the evening. He had compiled five points (2-3 FG, 1-2 3PT) in nine minutes before exiting. Expect an update on his status once the Raptors provide more information.

Payton (ankle) will start at point guard for Friday's matchup with the Knicks, Andrew Lopez of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Payton will return from a nine game absence caused by an ankle sprain. Given his length of time on the sidelines he will presumably worked back into the swing of things a bit. He will rejoin Jrue Holiday in the Pelicans' backcourt.
