It's an end-of-season paperwork move for the Rockies, who missed the playoffs with a final record of 26-34. Pazos, 29, gave up 10 earned runs on 10 hits and five walks in just 5 1/3 innings of relief this year.

Mariners GM Jerry Dipoto noted Monday that Tom Murphy's broken left foot is not yet fully healed.

Murphy suffered the fracture back in summer camp and wound up missing all of the condensed 2020 season. One would think that he will be fully healthy leading into the start of spring training next February, but it's odd that he hasn't made much progress thus far. The 29-year-old catcher carried some fantasy hype before the injury after registering an .858 OPS with 18 home runs over 75 games for Seattle in 2019.

Byron Buxton (concussion) participated in Monday's team workout at Target Field.

Twins manager Rocco Baldelli declined to get into specifics about Buxton's status for Tuesday's postseason opener versus the Astros. "We just want to learn as much as we can before we move forward and put anything in stone," said Baldelli, "but it was a relatively good day." Buxton missed the final two games of the regular season after displaying mild concussion symptoms following a hit-by-pitch to the head on Friday.

Mariners OF prospect Julio Rodriguez (wrist) will be part of the team's 40-player fall instructional league roster.

Rodriguez is then expected to play in the Dominican Winter League. This will all help the 19-year-old top outfield prospect make up for lost time, as he's been in rest and rehab mode for much of the last three months after suffering a hairline fracture in his left wrist in the early part of summer camp. Rodriguez put up a shiny .326/.390/.540 batting line with 12 home runs and 69 RBI in 84 games last year between Low-A and High-A.

Marlins president Michael Hill said Monday that Starling Marte (ear) should be ready for the playoffs.

Marte suffered a left ear contusion when he got in the batting helmet by a pitch in Sunday's regular-season finale against the Yankees, but he has cleared MLB's concussion protocol and is likely to be the Marlins' starting center fielder in Wednesday's Wild Card Series opener at Wrigley Field. The 31-year-old batted .281/.340/.430 with six home runs and 10 stolen bases in 61 games this summer between Arizona and Miami.

This move clears out a roster spot for Domingo Leyba, whose PED suspension has officially come to an end. Mantiply, 29, allowed four earned runs in 2 1/3 innings (four relief appearances) this year with Arizona.

Mariners GM Jerry Dipoto said Monday that he expects Mitch Haniger (back, core) to open as the team's everyday right fielder in 2021.

Haniger missed the condensed 2020 season following a second core surgery and a back operation -- and now hasn't appeared in a major league game since June 6, 2019 -- but he should be fully recovered leading into the start of spring training next February. 2021 will be a prove-it year for Haniger, who's typically been highly productive when healthy. He figures to go very late, or even undrafted, in most fantasy formats.

Reds manager David Bell confirmed Monday that Archie Bradley (back) is healthy leading into the postseason.

Bradley didn't pitch over the final week of the regular season, partly due to lower back tightness, but he was apparently available on both Saturday and Sunday. “It was good knowing that he could have pitched, but he didn’t,” Bell said Monday. “It worked out even better just to give him those days. He’s going to be good to go.”
