M. Sherels - DB
Sherels (ribs) did not participate in Wednesday's practice.
The injury Sherels suffered in Sunday's bout against the Packers was initially diagnosed as a chest injury, but now appears to have to do with the veteran's ribs. A timetable for Sherels' return has yet to be given, but as long as the 30-year-old remains sidelined expect Mike Hughes to serve as the Vikings' primary kick and punt returner.

M. Pierce - DL
Pierce is dealing with a foot injury and sat out Wednesday's practice, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
Pierce -- who played in 38 percent of the team's defensive snaps Thursday against the Bengals -- seemingly injured his foot during the contest, though the extent of his injury is unknown. We'll continue to monitor his status as the week progresses, but if he's unable to go, expect Chris Wormley to see an increased workload.

M. Lynch - RB
Lynch (shoulder) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Lynch was also listed with a shoulder injury last week, managing a limited practice Wednesday before upgrading to full participation Thursday and Friday. There isn't any reason to believe he's in danger of missing Sunday's game in Miami.

E. Griffen - DL
Griffen (knee) did not practice Wednesday.
Griffen managed to play against the Packers in Week 2, logging two tackles and half a sack, despite nursing a toe injury. The veteran defensive end now appears to be working through a knee issue of undisclosed severity, but more information about Griffen's health should be made available as the week continues. For the time being, Griffen should be considered questionable to suit up for Sunday's game against Buffalo.

T. Lewis - WR
Lewis (knee) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, Nick Underhill of The New Orleans Advocate reports.
The reason for Lewis' placement on injured reserve remains undisclosed, as does the exact nature of his injury. It was initially reported that the 25-year-old suffered a knee injury in Week 2's tilt against the Browns, but Nick Underhill of The New Orleans Advocate reports that Lewis also sustained a neck injury while attempting to return a punt. Tedd Ginn should serve as New Orleans' primary punt returner going forward, unless the team elects to dedicate a depth player to the role.

T. Benjamin - WR
Benjamin (foot) was limited at Wednesday's practice.
When healthy enough to play, Benjamin has the speed to break off the occasional big play, but weekly volume figures to be an issue for him with Keenan Allen, Mike Williams and Tyrell Williams also on the Chargers' wideout depth chart.
Added 6:43 pm (EST)
M. Gordon - RB
Gordon (neck) was a full participant at Wednesday's practice.
This accounts for the unspecified upper-body injury Gordon suffered during the fourth quarter of Sunday's 31-20 win over the Bills. His full participation Wednesday suggests he'll be fine for a difficult Week 3 contest against the Rams.
Added 6:43 pm (EST)
A. Gates - TE
Gates (illness) sat out Wednesday's practice.
Gates should recover in time to suit up Sunday against the Rams, but with just two targets through the Chargers' first two games, the veteran tight end is off the fantasy radar until or unless he recaptures his previous red-zone chemistry with QB Philip Rivers.
