Captain
Jackeylove ($12,000)
The captain slot is in hot contest on Sunday, with a multitude of great options: both of the TES and OMG carries are solid options, and between them, I’d say Jackeylove is your best option, with Knight a solid secondary, followed by Creme and finally Able. IG is typically a bloody team, alongside TES with a more skirmish-focused style. OMG, however, with a weaker top side typically relies on teamfights to get the majority of their work done; which isn’t bad, but I find that a weak team like V5 will roll over and die before the game gets to that critical tipping point.
Alternatives to consider: Knight ($12,000)
Top Lane
Hoya ($5,200)
BRO’s top side looked extremely competitive versus Nongshim, the #1 holder in the LCK. While Hoya has been a sore spot for me historically, I can’t deny that he’s stepped it up massively this split. BRO currently sit outside of play-offs and with Afreeca Freecs being the gatekeepers, I can’t realistically see them breaking through that barrier. However, HLE has basically been dead in the water this split, and with the promotion of their new jungler, Willer as a last ditch effort to try to make a cohesive roster, I think the team will fall apart.
Alternatives to consider: Ale ($6,000)
Jungle
UmTi ($5,600)
Furthermore, BRO’s jungler in UmTi has a massive advantage in that his opponent in Willer will be playing his first LCK game on Sunday. UmTi is on a hot streak, featuring great games against AFS, DRX, and even NS. While UmTi hasn’t been a strong jungler in the past, he’s been a powerful force for BRO in their last series, and he is likely to continue this form against a weak jungler like Willer on Sunday. For a different pick, TES’s Karsa has a solid match-up against XUN, a weaker jungler who doesn’t accomplish much in IG’s games.
Alternatives to consider: Karsa ($7,200)
Mid Lane
Knight ($8,000)
The two players in hot contest for MVP of the LPL are Knight and Doinb, with Knight having a weaker team, which is actually better for fantasy points. Rookie has been having one of, if not the absolutely worst splits of his career. IG seems dead in the water as far as play-offs is concerned, so Knight should be able to completely wipe the weakened IG squad. Otherwise, Creme is a solid option versus V5, he’s likely to pick up big points against the 0-11 squad.
Alternatives to consider: Creme ($7,800)
ADC
Able ($8,200)
For bottom lane, I’d definitely do my best to combine OMG’s bottom lane- Able is solid enough in lane and is a teamfight monster, which may not be the #1 option up against a carry like Jackeylove, but with an easy match-up, he’s certain to keep his points high and his deaths low. Ruler is also a decent option- although, GenG hasn’t been the hallmark of consistency as of late.
Alternatives to consider: Ruler ($7,400)
Support
Cold ($6,200)
Alongside his ADC, Cold is an excellent option for support. Not only is Cold a solid support, and has a great match-up versus V5, but Cold will be capable of influencing the map due to V5’s susceptible lanes. The other option I’d look towards is LNG’s Kedaya against LGD’s weak bottom lane: between him and Life, I’d prefer Kedaya due to having a superior match-up versus Mark.
Alternatives to consider: Kedaya ($5,800)
Team
LNG Esports ($4,800)
With the money left, I’d spend the rest on LNG. While Xiye and Shad0w are a formidable force, Ale and Tarzan should be capable of shutting the team down, with LP and Kedaya in the bottom lane being a solid match against Kramer and Mark. TES is a more consistent option, but they come at a big mark-up.
Alternatives to consider: Top Esports ($5,600)
Stacks
Hoya & UmTi
Alongside Lava, Hoya and UmTi are some of the stronger players on BRO, relative to their weak bottom lane. Lava has a difficult match-up versus Chovy, but HLE’s humongous Achilles heel has always been their top side, which BRO can seek to exploit.
Jackeylove & Knight
The carries for TES are underrated. Yunyanjia isn’t a significant upgrade over Zhuo, but that doesn’t matter against a horrendous bottom lane like IG’s. Knight is an MVP candidate, and Jackeylove is great against IG’s bottom lane.
Able & Cold
Able and Cold are two of the stronger players on OMG, and both should be capable of mopping up points against the dead last V5. Cold should be able to impact V5’s weak lanes through rotating around the map, with Able sweeping teamfights.
Top Picks: Jackeylove, Able, Knight
TES carries and Able comprise the most valuable picks on Sunday. Jackeylove and Knight have great match-ups against their counterparts on IG, who look completely dead inside. Able is a massive carry on OMG, and is sure to stomp a 0-11 V5.
Top Value: Hoya, UmTi, Ale
Two underrated top laners and UmTi are great options to save money on Sunday. Hoya and UmTi exploit the weak links on Hanwha Life Esports, whereas Ale likewise exploits Garvey/fearness on LGD.
