Gallen was diagnosed with a hairline fracture in his right forearm less than three weeks ago. However, he never had to be shut down from throwing and has continued to ramp things up. Last Wednesday he threw 67 pitches in a game at the team's spring training complex and was able to throwing breaking balls with no discomfort. While Gallen is not fully stretched out, he should have enough bullets to theoretically go 5-6 innings against the A's.
