Collin Sexton (ankle) exploded for a career-high 42 points on 16-of-29 shooting Wednesday, to go with five triples, five rebounds, five assists, two steals, one block and just one turnover across 38 minutes in a double-overtime win in Brooklyn.
It's safe to say that Sexton is over the ankle injury that forced him to miss the past five games, as he was simply phenomenal tonight. He had a tough time getting his 3-point shot to drop during regulation, but after missing his first five attempts — he hit a big shot right in Kyrie Irving's face with 1.2 seconds left to force the second overtime period — and he went on to score 20 straight points in the win. The only negative from tonight's stat line was he went 5-of-9 from the line, but his managers could probably care less about that, given he's shooting 82.9% from the stripe on the season.
