2023 Player Outlook

2023 Recap: Rodriguez had a seesaw rookie season. He started the season in the Major Leagues, but he earned a demotion back down to the minors by giving up 13 HRs and posting a 7.35 ERA in his first 10 starts. Rodriguez eventually earned another shot in the big leagues, and he was a totally different pitcher the second time around. There was a slight uptick in his fastball and slider velocity, his walk rate plummeted, and he posted a 52.7% ground ball rate which helped limit his HRs allowed to just three in his last 13 starts. 

2024 Outlook: Sometimes it’s hard to trust a young pitcher, especially with the way Rodriguez’s big-league career started but based on his minor league pedigree and the way he finished his rookie season it appears he’s got a bright future ahead of him.
