2023 Player Outlook
2023 Recap: Ferguson added almost a full run to his ERA with two late season bad outings at Coors Field, but he still finished the season with a respectable 3.43 ERA. The Dodgers used him in the sixth, seventh and eighth innings last season and he responded with 17 holds and three saves. He had a good strikeout rate (10.44 K/9) and an above average ground ball rate (49.1) which combined to help limit his home runs allowed to just four in 60.1 innings.
2024 Outlook: The Yankees will likely use Ferguson in much the same way that the Dodgers used him last season. He should be a good resource for holds but if Kahnle should struggle or miss time the Yanks would likely use him in a setup role behind Clay Holmes.
