MMA DFS Playbook for UFC Noche: Silva vs Delgado

Fighter(s) | Price | Opponent | Risk | Odds | ITD |
Jean Silva vs Jose Delgado | 9300/6900 | - | Stackability: Low | -450/ 333 | -225./450.0 |
UFC Noche has a great main event this week. Silva is one of the most entertaining personalities in sports and he brings a lot of action to his fights. Delgado has more volume than Silva, but the level of competition he has faced has been much lower. Silva should be able to eventually find the KO, but it might take a little while for him to get there as Delgado has shown excellent durability in his career.
Expensive Fighters
Expensive | |||||
Fighter(s) | Price | Opponent | Risk | Odds | ITD |
Yousri Belgaroui | 9700 | Djorden Santos | Somewhat-Safe | -800 | -175. |
Belgaroui is a fantastic striker, but he isn't a one punch KO type of striker. I'm confident he gets this done, but it probably comes in R2/3.
Tommy Gantt | 9400 | Drakkar Klose | Somewhat-Safe | -500 | -200. |
Gantt's wrestling is so strong that he can score 100+ even in a decision. I'd have him above Belgaroui if he had more fights under his belt, but he's still very new to the UFC so I can't trust him as much.
Ignacio Bahamondes | 9500 | Muslim Salikhov | Somewhat-Safe | -549 | -225. |
This is a tailor-made matchup for Bahamondes. He doesn't have to worry about being taken down, and he's facing a slow, aging, veteran. His speed is going to be a major difference and as long as he avoids a few powerful strikes that Muslim will throw, he should be able to dominate.
David Martinez | 9200 | Dan Ige | Moderate | -400 | 175.0 |
Ige has been notoriously durable but is coming off of his first KO loss. Martinez can mix in wrestling as needed, but he should be able to win this even on the feet. In a decision he may only score 70pts which won't be enough at his price.
Regina Tarin | 9100 | JJ Aldrich | Moderate | -300 | 275.0 |
She is going to be a fan favorite at UFC Noche as a young Mexican fighter with a bunch of hype. She lacks some striking defense, but for DraftKings I like fighters who take chances. She is a tier below the top 3 in this price range but I'm confident she'll land 100+ significant strikes whether she wins or loses.
Mid-Range Fighters
Mid-Range | |||||
Fighter(s) | Price | Opponent | Risk | Odds | ITD |
Tommy McMillen | 8600 | Marwan Rahiki | Moderate | -175 | 130.0 |
Tommy isn't the most technical but his fights are always top scoring on DK. Whoever wins this fight is either getting a KO or going to land 150 significant strikes in a decision. I will be locking in someone from this fight in all of my lineups.
Rong Rongzhu | 8500 | Rafa Garcia | Moderate | #N/A | #N/A |
Rong has had a weird path in the UFC. he won his last two with the promotion and then had to go back to the "Road to the UFC" where he KO'd his opponent in a minute. This is a tough matchup for him, but the key is going to be the takedown defense. I think his takedown defense is improving so he should be able to keep it standing.
Brandon Moreno | 7900 | Joseph Morales | Somewhat-Risky | 100 | 500.0 |
Moreno is clearly hitting the tail end of his career and isn't as good as he used to be, but I think he has enough to get past Morales. Morales is taking a big step up in competition and this could be a great spot to take a chance on a fighter who is well rounded and has been to wars with the tops in the division.
Sean King III | 8400 | Jessie Rosas | Somewhat-Risky | -200 | 150.0 |
King is undefeated, but neither of these fighters have fought in the UFC before so I don't know how much we can trust the tape. King is two fights removed from winning over a fighter with a 2-12 record, and Rosas is coming off of a win against a fighter who was 9-15. King is longer and from what I've seen he looks more well-rounded so I'm picking him this week, but this was a tough fight to tape study and feel confident.
Rafa Garcia | 7700 | Rong Rongzhu | Somewhat-Risky | 150 | 350.0 |
Garcia's wrestling has been better, and if he can get the takedowns, he could win this fight. This will all come down to the wrestling of Garcia and while I think Rong wins, Garcia will score well in a win if his wrestling is on point.
Marwan Rahiki | 7600 | Tommy McMillen | Somewhat-Risky | 140 | 200.0 |
The winner of this fight will be on the optimal lineup. Rahiki is more technical, and I expect him to look good early, it all really depends on how well he can deal with the constant pressure that McMillen brings.
Paydown Fighters
Pay-Downs | |||||
Fighter(s) | Price | Opponent | Risk | Odds | ITD |
Curtis Blaydes | 7500 | Waldo Cortes Acosta | Somewhat-Risky | 175 | 400.0 |
Blaydes will always have elite upside with his takedown ability but he is chinny. If he can wrestle, he could win a decision.
Tim Elliott | 7400 | Edgar Chairez | Somewhat-Risky | 175 | 450.0 |
Elliott is another aging fighter with his best years behind him, but for the first five minutes he is dangerous and he has a style that is tough for others to replicate. He could use his experience to pull off a submission on Chairez.
Alexa Grasso | 7300 | Manon Fiorot | Risky | 175 | 600.0 |
This is going to be an extremely close fight and I expect both of them to land 50-70 significant strikes. At UFC Noche the crowd is likely going to be cheering for Grasso to get the win which could sway the judges.
JJ Aldrich | 7100 | Regina Tarin | Risky | 225 | 900.0 |
She is more experienced, and this is going to be mostly standing. She is way lower on volume than Tarin, but she does have decent boxing so she may be able to keep up with the volume.
Drakkar Klose | 6800 | Tommy Gantt | Risky | 350 | 700.0 |
Gantt is another rising prospect and one of these hyped-up prospects probably loses. Klose is a decision machine so I don't think he gets a finish but he could out strike him over fifteen minutes.
Dan Ige | 7000 | David Martinez | Risky | 300 | 600.0 |
Ige has power, but Martinez has much better wrestling. He'll need to land a walk off KO to win this fight.
