From one birdie-fest to another! This week, we head to the Detroit Golf Club for the 2026 Rocket Classic. This venue has been a resurgence place for names like Rickie Fowler, and has a two-time champion in just 6 years on tour. On top of the fact that the field in this event allows for new faces to capture their first win, and that this will be the final year of the event after Rocket Companies declined to exercise it's option for one more season, we're in for a show.

Don't forget, when looking to build your lineups, make sure to take advantage of our PGA DFS Projections, PGA DFS Ownership, and PGA DFS Lineup Optimizer to get every advantage you can.

Let’s dive in!

Rocket Classic 2026: Daily Fantasy Golf Picks & Projections

The Rocket Classic debuted in 2019, replacing the Quicken Loans National on the schedule, and has been a staple since then. Unfortunately, this will be the last season on the schedule for this event as the sponsor, Rocket Companies, has declined to renew it's contract. That said, this course allows another Midwest event (which I'm partial to as a midwestern local), so let's see if we can go out with a bang and get one more great watch at Detroit Golf Club.

Detroit Golf Club: Course Breakdown This Week

Established in 1899, this is a historic venue, though it has only been a mainstay on the PGA Tour since 2019 when it became the home of this event. Playing just under 7,400 yards at a par of 72, this event has historically been a bit of a birdie-fest. Funny enough, Cam Davis is the winner of the two events with the lowest score, that being -18. We’ve seen winning scores as high as -26 and we've also been blessed with 3 playoffs in it's 7 occurrences.

Detroit Golf Club is an interesting venue in the aspect that there are typically no stats here that have a higher importance than tour average. That said, looking back at previous years, we do see a bit of variance in what has mattered most. In 2024, Putting and Driving Accuracy were the only two stats with a higher than average correlation to total Strokes Gained. 2023 showed us that Approach mattered more, while putting remained king. 2021 is the only really “unique” year in this aspect, as this was the only showing that play around the green played major importance. Last season, driving distance was important and allowed eventual winner Aldrich Potgeiter to find an advantage on the field.

As a result, we will put a larger emphasis on Approach from two distinct distances, 50-100 and 250+ as the largest concentrations of approach play typically fall into these buckets as well as greens in regulation percentage from these areas. Instead of focusing on Driving Accuracy like last season, I'm putting a larger emphasis this year on Good Drives Gained. Additionally, SG: Putting will receive a boost as well.

The Par 3s at this course all play between 160-233 yards, the par 4s play 370 to 490, and the par 5s at 550-635. These create some distinct scoring baskets to focus on. The birdie-fest nature of this event puts emphasis on birdie or better percentage, especially on the Par 5's. This event has minimal hazards in play, wide fairways, and greens that have always played true. Bad putters don’t suddenly figure it out here, but great putters consistently shine. This course is also very similar in nature to TPC Twin Cities so we will see some carry over from last week.

Some top players in key stats this week:

Good Drives Gained: Stafano Mazzoli, Ben Kohles, Lucas Glover, Russell Henley, Joel Dahmen, Austin Smotherman, Beau Hossler, Marcelo Rozo, Lee Hodges, Rico Hoey

SG: Putting: Wyndham Clark, Akshay Bhatia, Emiliano Grillo, Sungjae Im, Harry Hall, Nick Taylor, Jacob Bridgeman, Russell Henley, Ben Griffin, Michael Kim

Approach Prox 50-100: Keegan Bradley, Tony Finau, Ryo Hisatsune, Hideki Matsuyama, Michael Kim, Akshay Bhatia, Nicolai Hojgaard, Emiliano Grillo, Sungjae Im, Wyndham Clark

Rocket Classic 2026 Field: Golf DFS

I think there's a legitimate argument that this year's Rocket Classic has the strongest field the event has seen. Cameron Young is the leader in OWGR at No. 3 in the World, and is joined by Russell Henley, Chris Gotterup, and Wyndham Clark as top 10 players in the world. Aldrich Potgeiter is back to defend his win from last season, and is joined by other previous champions in Cameron Davis, Rickie Fowler, and Tony Finau. The leaders in Stroke Gained: Total at Detroit Golf Club include Taylor Moore, Cam Young, Chris Kirk, Patrick Cantlay, J.J. Spaun, Max Greyserman, Jackson Suber, Finau, Eric Cole, and Jake Knapp, with Suber, Cole, Cantlay, Moore, Young, and Greyserman averaging over 2 Strokes Gained per round.

GOLF DFS PICKS THIS WEEK: Top Tier

Wyndham Clark ($9,300 DraftKings/$11,600 FanDuel)

Wyndham may have missed the cut at The Open but that doesn't mean I'm not interested. His recent form has simply been too strong overall. We're still talking about a guy who has finished outside the top 20 just twice in his last 10 starts, both of which were at Majors. His putting and scoring numbers remain top 5 for me, and his history here and at comp courses rank top 20. Considering the discount I get on him, there's no reason for me not to love the guy in lineups this week.

Jackson Koivun ($9,400 DraftKings/$11,800 FanDuel)

We were in on Koivun last week with the win, why not run it back? In the little we've seen of him on tour, it's clear that he is a superstar in the making. If his approach play from 50-100 improves to at least tour average this week, he'd arguably be my favorite outright play as well. He missed the cut in his one start here in 2024, but he's grown a ton as a player since, even for a guy who is just 21 years old. If he continues, it won't be long that anything under $10,000/$12,000 salary numbers for Koivun won't be an auto click, so I'm going to treat it as if that's already the case.

Si Woo Kim ($9,600 DraftKings/$11,400 FanDuel)

It's been a while since Si Woo found his way into the article, but I can't ignore a top 5 player in my model. He struggled for a stretch after a scorching start to the season, but he's recorded back to back top 10 finishes, and while his history at this venue hasn't been the best, his recent play in all facets of the game is simply too strong. This is a recent form over history play, and while those do make me a bit nervous, I trust Si Woo to deliver.

GOLF DFS PICKS THIS WEEK: MID-TIER

Brooks Koepka ($8,000 DraftKings/$9,800 FanDuel)

The Brooks profile hasn't change this year. He's one of the best full swing players on tour, meaning his approach and play off the tee are extremely strong. His putter has started to improve, and while he's still not as consistent as I'd like, we've seen the spike weeks that give me hope on these greens. At this price, I just can't ignore the upside.

J.J. Spaun ($8,700 DraftKings/$10,500 FanDuel)

Spaun struggled to find cuts for a big stretch of this season, but he's found himself back to the form that helped him be so hyped coming into the season. He's recorded 4 top 10 finishes this season, including his win in Valero, and he's gained strokes on at least 3 facets of the game in every event besides the U.S. Open since that win. He's also recorded multiple top 10 finishes here, and the putter has always been a strength here. Given that's his overall weakness on the profile, I'm going to trust the history here.

Russell Henley ($9,200 DraftKings/$10,900 FanDuel)

Henley might be my personal favorite this week. The ever consistent player lacks the driving distance that typically makes players strong options here, but the man simply knows how to get around nearly every course he plays. He recorded a 10th place finish here in his last start, and has recorded top 12 finishes in his last two starts. The man should not be this cheap at the end of the day.

GOLF DFS PICKS THIS WEEK: VALUE TIER

Doug Ghim ($7,400 DraftKings/$9,100 FanDuel)

Ghim simply doesn't profile well most of the time, so when he does, I take the shot. I was in on him last year where he recorded a top 20 finish here. He's missed his last two cuts, but has also recorded a career high in top 15 finishes this season, and the profile is so solid that I'm willing to take the upside swing.

Ben Kohles ($7,300 DraftKings/$9,400 FanDuel)

I liked Kohles last week, but decided to not write about him. I won't be doing that again. He was the first round leader last week, and continues to display strong play regardless of venue. Between the Korn Ferry Tour, and the PGA Tour, he's recorded top 30 finishes in his last 7 starts, including a T3 at the John Deere and a 9th place finish last week at the 3M. He's an accuracy player, much like Henley is for me, so as long as the lack of distance doesn't hold him back too much, I believe he can surprise yet again this week.

Kevin Yu ($7,200 DraftKings/$8,400 FanDuel)

Kevin Yu is not a household name, and he's arguably not even a golf sicko name, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't consider him this week. He's recorded top 25 finishes in 3 of his last 4 starts, and while no part of his game typically pops, the distance he can gain on the field off the tee certainly will come into play this week. He's a bomber, but he's also accurate off the tee (29th in Good Drives Gained). If the rest of his game remains consistent, a top 20 finish is certainly in play, and the scoring shows the upside is even higher.
