NHL Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today 10/27

Buffalo Sabres vs. San Jose Sharks: Tuesday, October 27th

The east coast goes west coast games are always fun ones to bet as the matchups happen rarely! The Sabres are out in San Jose tonight to take on the Sharks and I could see this one potentially blowing up the slate.

Its no secret the Sharks have struggled a bit out of the gate but towards the end of their road trip it seems like they got the offense dialed in a bit. In the last three games of the trip the offense posted 14 goals and every single game went over on the game total. The defense is going to have its issues as its given up 2.53 expected goals at even strength in the last 10 games but the offense finding itself is huge.

On the Sabres side they are on a similar trend as five of their last six games have gone over the total and in those games a combined 42 goals were scored. I expect the Sabres offense to be the main agessor in betting tonight's over but the way things are going the Sharks could bite back as well. Either way is fine by me, so long as this one ends with seven or more pucks in the back of the net.

  • Pick: Sabres & Sharks Over 6.5 (-120 on FanDuel)

Vancouver Canucks vs. Anaheim Ducks: Tuesday, October 27th

Time once again to pick on the Canucks! This is going to happen about a hundred more times this season so let me apologize to any Vancouver fans in the reading audience.

There are trends too giant to ignore with the Canucks and its mostly the shot volume they allow on a game by game basis. Over the last 10 games they have allowed 26.9 shots on goal at even strength the most in hockey and just above the Kraken at 26.3. This presents a runway for a few different player props but for this article let's zero in on Cutter Gauthier who has 15 shots in three home games this season.

Gauthier is the resident sniper for the Ducks and he's not afraid to pull the trigger from anywhere in the zone. His prop tonight is 3.5 shots, that's become standard for him since last season. He has gone over this prop six times on the season thus far and knowing the Canucks allow the MOST DFS points to left wingers on the season I would say skies the limit for Cutter tonight.

Best NHL Prop Bets & Other Picks: Today 10/27

  • Bruins & Hurricanes Under 6.5 (-120 on DraftKings)
  • Panthers ML (-130 on Fanatics)
  • Adrian Kempe (LAK) Over 2.5 Shots (-130 on DraftKings)

Today's NHL DFS Cheat Sheet & Stacks

Goalie of The Day: Ilya Sorokin, NYI

Its a road game for the goalie of the day but truth be told this is a tricky slate for the netminders. There are many 6.5 goal total on the board so let's slide in a player in a 5.5 total game and a damn good goalie at that. Sorokin ranks 7th in the NHL in goals saved above expected right now, let's keep that number marching up!

Player of The Day: Macklin Celebrini, SJ

There are a ton of elite options I like today but Celebrini on home ice is always going to be at the top of the heap. The Sabres are allowing the 7th most DFS points to centers on the season and Celebrini is due a goal tonight after a pair of games without one!

Value Play of The Day: Beckett Sennecke, ANA

His is a little more pricey than my usual value plays but he is still under 7k on DraftKings so I am going to count it. Sennecke has six goals in 11 games this season and is averaging 11.1 points per game on DK as well. Canucks refuse to play defense overall but they allow the 3rd most DFS points per game to right wingers on the season as well.

Defenseman Play of the Day: Zach Werenski, CBJ

Can we talk about how weird it is that Werenski doesn't have a goal this season? Rick Bowness get your game plan in order dude and let's get moving here. Its a great matchup for the super star defenseman to pad some stats against the Flyers, let's see if the due theory can pay off for him tonight as well.

Top Stack of the Day: Ducks Forward Line 1

Fade the Canucks, that should be the title of the playbook today to be honest. They are allowing so many shots and goals so let's lockdown this talented group of the Ducks in Cutter Gauthier, Leo Carlsson and Judd Caulfield and stack it up to victory.
