NHL Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 2/6
With so many games on the slate, we don't want to spread ourselves too much by chasing any and every bet.
We want to focus on a few select NHL props where we find value.
Panthers vs. Blues Prediction: Thursday, February 6th
The Florida Panthers are an absolute powerhouse as usual and we can look to their offense for plenty of consistency and upside. Over the last two weeks, the Panthers have generated 67.91 Total Shot Attempts per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the highest in the NHL.
This is nothing new for them as they are known for applying plenty of pressure on offense and never taking their foot off the gas. We routinely see several players on a nightly basis hitting the overs on their shot props and tonight, we'll turn to Matthew Tkachuk.
Over his last 10 games, Tkachuk has at least two shots in nine of those games, as he skates on the second forward line and the first power-play unit. Love the consistency from Tkachuk and the Panthers' overall offensive mindset to keep the pressure up.
- Expert Panthers vs. Blues Picks:
- Matthew Tkachuk Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (-125 on FanDuel)
Vancouver Canucks vs. San Jose Sharks Prediction: Thursday, February 6th
After a big trade, there are some new roles for the Vancouver Canuck,s and thus, new spots to look in the prop market.
The Canucks traded J.T. Miller to the New York Rangers and got Filip Chytil, who is already off to a hot start on his new team. He has one goal, one assist, and six shots on goal. The Canucks also immediately put Chytil on the second forward line and the first power-play unit, an awesome role to have at any point.
Tonight, Chytil can continue that versus the San Jose Sharks, who are terrible on defense. Over the last two weeks, the Sharks have allowed 69.5 Total Shot Attempts per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the second-worst in the league.
He's made a great first impression on his new team and he can keep that rolling tonight with a very favorable matchup versus the Sharks.
- Expert Canucks vs. Sharks Picks:
- Filip Chytil Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (-120 on FanDuel)
- Game Total Over 5.5 (-122 on FanDuel)
