Welcome to a brand new week on the NHL Best Bets! Last week was up and down much like this NHL season has been to this point but the weekend closed with a bang as I went 3 of 4 on the picks. Tonight is a smaller slate than normal with just 4 games to dive into but on any given night there are angles to be wagered on! In today's article I have spotlighted a pair of plays that I back 100% and they are both game totals, an over and an under. If you like the rationale tail the picks and best of luck tonight in your betting ventures.

NHL Best Bets for November 6

Tampa Bay Lightning at Toronto Maple Leafs

There are a couple marquee matchups in the NHL today and I intend to wager on both of them! Starting first with the Lighting and Leafs here as both offenses are loaded with talent and its going to be fun one to watch. The Lightning offense has the edge coming in as they've scored 3.64 goals per game and somehow the Leafs are stuck at 3.18 but at home its a bit better as Toronto has scored around 3.25 goals per game. Their defense has been lackluster though which is why its interesting they have hit the over in just 3 of 10 games. Tampa Bay is the same on defense allowing well north of 3.5 goals per game and have hit the over in 6 of 10 games. I expect this matchup to be fast paced and the goalies are pretty mediocre so I will ride the over in this one today.

Pick: Lightning & Maple Leafs Over 6.5 Goals (-130 on BetMGM)

Boston Bruins at Dallas Stars

Now to wager on the 2nd big time game on this small NHL slate! The Stars and Bruins remind me a lot of each other in the way they play the game, defense first. Each team has had great goaltending for the past several seasons and this year is no different with Jake Oettinger and Jeremy Swayman as they each have GAAs under 2 and SV% touching the .930 range and even higher in Swayman's case. From there the overall blue lines are fantastic and it shows in the stats with the Bruins allowing the least amount of goals per game in the NHL at 1.91 and the Stars allowing just 2.5, the 6th fewest. This has led to a combined record of 14-6 towards under game totals this season. The number is as low as it'll normally go on the sportsbooks at 5.5 but with these two teams the game should be low scoring.

Pick: Bruins & Stars Under 5.5 Goals (-110 on PointsBet)
