Hello and welcome everyone to my 4 Nations Face-Off predictions! This is the first time this has ever been put together by the NHLPA, but I have to say, this instead of the All-Star break is so much cooler.

We will have 4 teams competing to win the title and they are all loaded with familiar names to the NHL community, and it should be a great couple of weeks here!

4 Nations Face-Off Predictions, Picks & Best Bets – Round Robin Round 1

A few things to note here in case anyone is confused about the format. Every team will play each other once in a round robin style then the teams with the most points will advance to a one game winner take all final.

The points format will be a little different as 3 points will be awarded for a win in regulation, 2 for a win in overtime and 1 point for a loss in overtime. Keep that in mind as I have some props on the round robin points futures of a couple of teams.

With that now broken down for you all, let's dive into my 2025 4 Nations Face-Off predictions for the first two games of the tournament that will take place the next couple of days. Plus, check out my futures bets for the tournament as well; some huge value and big time plus odds to be had!

Canada vs. Sweden Prediction: Wednesday, February 12th

To kick off things in the tournament we will have host nation Canada taking on Sweden and while Sweden is projected to be the 3rd best team in the 4-Nation Face Off I just don’t see how they can hang with Canada here.

Just looking at the rosters it's rather uneven all the way around as well from forwards to defenseman I don’t see anybody that is going to match up with the Canadian speed here of Nathan MacKinnon, Connor McDavid and Cale Makar. That being said, give me the current generation of Canada’s stars led by the greatest captain in hockey history with Sidney Crosby to take this game in a big way to start things off.

Speaking of Crosby, he’s going to be surrounded by so much talent in this tournament he will be able to do what he does best and that’s pass the puck better than anybody else. He’s going to play on a line with Nathan MacKinnon and Mark Stone who are certified snipers, and he will also be playing on the top power play unit so no shortage of options for the captain. Give me Crosby to chalk up an assist in this opening game.

USA vs. Finland Prediction: Thursday, February 13th

To set the stage the USA are co-favorites to win this tournament with Canada at least on DraftKings and then Finland is +900 and are the ultimate long shots to win so let’s start with that. The reason likely is because their defense is by far and away the worst of the four teams with only 2 maybe 3 real NHL blueliners.

That is not good for sure, but their goaltending is just as suspicious with Juuse Saros having one of the worst statistical seasons of his career. Hard to see him breaking out of his slump against a team USA offense with Auston Matthews, Jack Eichel, Jack Hughes and the Tkachuk brothers!

USA should win this game with loads of offensive talent through all 4 of the lines but there is no value in betting that so let’s take them to score over 3.5 goals in their opening game of the tournament as they should dominate in shots and possession.
