NHL Stanley Cup Final Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 6/14

Hello and welcome everyone to the Stanley Cup Finals on this Saturday, June 14th, 2025, betting edition! Wagering the Cup games is always bittersweet as the it’s the pinnacle of the sport, but it means the season is coming to an end and what a great year it was for me betting on hockey.Â
Game 4 brought us yet another OT thriller as the Oilers managed to buckle down and even the series at two games apiece. Penalties have played a huge role in this series thus, far but as we move to the endgame, I have a feeling the whistles may be swallowed! Either way, it's going to be another great game tonight.
Enjoy Game 5 and check out my bet of the game below!Â

Panthers vs. Oilers Predictions, Game 5
What a series this has become over the opening four games and now it’s a best 2-of-3 series coming down the stretch! There have been some surprises such as the pulling of Stuart Skinner in the Edmonton goal crease but also the amount of powerplays and penalties that we have seen. The whistles are atypical for the Finals; will it continue? The Panthers sure hope they will as they’ve benefitted the most from the man advantage.Â
Assuming all things are equal though, the Oilers have been the better team 5-on-5 throughout the series with the omission of Game 3 of course. In Game 4, the Oilers posted an expected goals total of 3.71 to the Panthers 3.05; a significant edge by the numbers. It's hard to see that trend turning away from them today as well as the Oilers at home boast near top metrics in expected goals for and Corsi ratings. Not that the Panthers have been bad, but they are lagging and if they don’t continue getting the benefit of more powerplays they may be hurting. There’s also been the play of Sergei Bobrovsky for the Panthers that hasn’t been top tier this series. He’s made the saves needed for the most part, but he’s not been infallible like he has been all postseason long.Â
I liked the Oilers to win the series heading into this and I still like them to win it and it should start tonight as they take the lead in this series playing their aggressive brand of hockey and putting more emphasis on staying out of the box.Â
- Expert Pick: Oilers Money Line (-105 on Caesars Sportsbook)
