NFL DFS Week 5 WR Coach for Fanduel & DraftKings Fantasy
Another slate for us means more wide receivers to dissect! In past weeks, I’ve found a good bunch of value plays, but this week, my lineups have seen more top-tier and mid-tier wideouts, more so than cheaper options on the board. After sifting through the data and crunching the numbers, I’ve identified my favorite plays at the position this week, and there should be a receiver or two at every price point to give you plenty of options when building your NFL DFS lineups this week, headlined by Amon-Ra St. Brown of the Detroit Lions.
NFL Week 5 Wide Receivers
Quick notes on the slate:
- 4 games with a total of at least 47 points
- Highest projected ownership on DraftKings: Jaxon Smith-Njigba (28.20%), Garrett Wilson (26.00%), Amon-Ra St. Brown (21.70%), George Pickens (20.70%), Quentin Johnston (19.30%)
- Highest projected ownership on FanDuel: Jaxon Smith-Njigba (37.50%), George Pickens (34.20%), Tetairoa McMillan (25.40%), Deebo Samuel (20.10%), Jaylen Waddle (18.50%)
- Highest implied team totals: Lions (29.24), Colts (26.69), Chargers (24.66), Cowboys (24.42), Cardinals (23.80), Bengals (23.75)
This is a living, breathing resource, and it will be updated as the week goes on, based on injury news, practice reports, etc. By Sunday, you may see some players removed who were earlier featured, or perhaps some players added as the week goes on.

NFL DFS WR Top Tier Picks for Week 5
Nico Collins, Houston Texans - DraftKings: $6,800 | FanDuel: $8,100
Baltimore is incredibly banged up in the secondary, and they’ve allowed the fifth-most fantasy points per game to wide receivers this season. Collins has a healthy 26.5 percent target share, 43.9% share of the team’s air yards, and an excellent 2.22 yards per route run, per FantasyPoints. He’s the consistent presence in the passing attack, and if the Houston O-line can hold up, we could see a couple of vintage Nico Collins bombs downfield, as the Ravens have allowed the third-most passing yards on passes 20+ yards downfield, per FantasyPoints.
Emeka Egbuka, Tampa Bay Buccaneers - DraftKings: $6,900 | FanDuel: $7,600
Chris Godwin returned to action, but Egbuka remained the most productive wide receiver. Sure, his 40 percent catch rate last week wasn’t ideal, but it marked the fourth straight game for Egbuka to open the season with a touchdown or 80+ yards. The team will move him around the formation, ensuring he’s set up for success. Say what you want about Pro Football Focus’ grades, but Josh Jobe and Tariq Woolen rank 63rd and 96th in coverage grade, respectively, out of 102 graded corners.
Ja'Marr Chase, Cincinnati Bengals - DraftKings: $7,800 | FanDuel: $9,000
It hasn’t been a great go of things for Chase without Joe Burrow this year, as Chase has just 10 receptions on 14 targets for 73 yards over the last two weeks. However, the game script should remain beneficial for pass attempts, and this Detroit secondary is banged up. D.J. Reed is likely missing some time, and Terrion Arnold, who has allowed the second-most yards in coverage this season, is also banged up.
Garrett Wilson, New York Jets - DraftKings: $6,100 | FanDuel: $7,800
Garrett Wilson is in a dream spot here against the Cowboys. They have been the worst defense in the league against wide receivers, and they rank dead last in yards, yards per route run, and fantasy points allowed to wideouts on the perimeter, per FantasyPoints. On just the routes where he’s been lined up out wide this year, Wilson has posted 2.55 yards per route run, a 48.6% first read rate, and 1.3 yards per target over expectation, per FantasyPoints.

NFL DFS WR Mid-Tier Picks for NFL Week 5
Quentin Johnston (DraftKings: $5,700 | FanDuel: $7,500) and Keenan Allen (DraftKings: $5,600 | FanDuel: $6,500), Los Angeles Chargers
I couldn’t pick between the two, so screw it, we’re putting both here. Both Johnston and Allen have at least seven targets in all four games this season, and both have positives going for them.
- Johnston:Â The Commanders play a good bit of man defense, despite their corners struggling this year, and Johnston has an exceptional 2.73 yards per route run, 15.8 yards per reception, and 0.68 fantasy points per route run versus man coverage in 2025, per FantasyPoints.
- Allen:Â Washington has allowed the fourth-most yards and most yards per route run to the slot this season, and Allen has posted 2.02 yards per route run and a 120.6 passer rating when targeted out of the slot this season, per FantasyPoints.
The Commanders have allowed the ninth-most fantasy points per game to wideouts this season, and this game could push into the fifties in total points.
Jakobi Meyers, Las Vegas Raiders - DraftKings: $5,600 | FanDuel: $6,000
10/5 UPDATE: With Brock Bowers likely to miss, Meyers' ownership figures to rise a bit. Good spot for him.
Don’t let us down again, Geno! Meyers caught just four of seven targets for 30 yards in a really good matchup against the Bears, but he’s in another favorable matchup here against Indy. The Colts have allowed the second-most yards and seventh-most yards per route run to the slot this season, per FantasyPoints, and only three teams have allowed more fantasy points to wideouts on the year than the Colts. The game script should be favorable for Meyers, and Geno should be back to 30+ pass attempts this week.
Tetairoa McMillan, Carolina Panthers - DraftKings: $5,700 | FanDuel: $6,200
It’s possible we see Jalen Coker back this week, but even so, we like our perimeter receivers against Miami. It’s a small sample size, but the numbers for McMillan against Cover 0 and Cover 2, coverages that Miami plays at the second-highest and league-high rate, respectively, are encouraging, highlighted by a 29.4% target share, 3.12 yards per route run, and 0.176 first downs per route run, per FantasyPoints. Again, it’s a small sample size, but worth noting nonetheless.
Marvin Harrison Jr, Arizona Cardinals - DraftKings: $5,400 | FanDuel: $6,600
Harrison saw a season-high 10 targets last week, and this Tennessee defense just allowed C.J. Stroud to have his best game of the season. L’Jarius Sneed’s name has been bigger than his play this season, but Harrison is getting into the slot a bit more, and I’m encouraged by that. The Titans have allowed the eighth-most yards per route run to the slot this season, and it would behoove the Cardinals to get Harrison into the slot more. So far this year on his snaps in the slot, he’s posted a 12.2 aDOT, 158.3 passer rating when targeted, and 3.9 yards per target over expectation, per FantasyPoints.

NFL Week 5 DFS WR Value Picks
Chris Olave, New Orleans Saints - DraftKings: $5,200 | FanDuel: $6,100
If there were ever a week for Olave, it has to be Week 5 against the New York Football Giants. Not only has he recorded a 20+ percent target share in every game this season, but this matchup is so darn good. Where do I start? Do I start with the fact that the Giants have allowed the second-most fantasy points per game to wideouts? Or with the fact that he primarily plays on the perimeter, and the Giants rank in the bottom-five in the NFL in yards allowed and fantasy points allowed to the perimeter, per FantasyPoints? When Olave goes in the slot, Andru Phillips has been one of the best matchups for us to target, so that’s another reason for optimism with Olave this week. Rashid Shahed is intriguing as well in this matchup.
Michael Pittman, Indianapolis Colts - DraftKings: $5,100 | FanDuel: $5,900
Here’s the name you want to know: Kyu Blu Kelly. The former fifth-round pick has allowed the most yards in coverage this season, 16.0 yards per reception, and a 132.2 passer rating when targeted, per Pro Football Focus. Pittman has scored in three of four games this season, and he has a healthy 2.43 yards per route run and 0.70 fantasy points per route run, per FantasyPoints. For a frame of reference, of wide receivers with at least 50 routes run on the perimeter, Pittman’s 2.43 yards per route run ranks 14th, and his 0.70 fantasy points per route run ranks seventh.
Darius Slayton, New York Giants - DraftKings: $4,300 | FanDuel: $5,400
This New Orleans defense has allowed the seventh-most yards and fourth-most fantasy points to the perimeter this season, per FantasyPoints. Slayton is no stranger to a big play, and we’ll hope for one or two of them here. I expect a lot of people to look at Wan’Dale Robinson, and I totally get it, but there’s something intriguing about Slayton this week against the Saints.

NFL DFS WR Fade for Week 5
A.J. Brown, Philadelphia Eagles - DraftKings: $6,000 | FanDuel: $7,000
A.J. Brown is frustrated; they logged 0 passing yards in the second half last week, and OC Kevin Patullo figures to lean on the run against a Denver defense that has allowed the third-most yards after contact per attempt on the year, per FantasyPoints. I’d expect Pat Surtain to shadow A.J. Brown, and this team will not force-feed the ball to Brown. For the entire season, 35.7% of his targets, 42.9% of his receptions, and 72.2% of his yards came in that one game against the Rams.
NFL Week 5 WR Play of The Week
Amon-Ra St. Brown. Detroit Lions - DraftKings: $7,900 | FanDuel: $9,300
The Bengals have allowed the eighth-most fantasy points per game to wideouts this season, and St. Brown has six touchdowns over his last three games. He has 70+ yards in three straight, multiple touchdowns in two of the last three, and the Bengals have allowed the most yards to the slot this season. Of the 39 players with at least 50 routes run from the slot, here is where St. Brown ranks, per FantasyPoints: T-4th in targets per route run, 6th in yards, 9th in yards per route run, 4th in first read rate, 2nd in first downs per route run, and 1st in fantasy points per route run.
