Packers vs. Steelers DFS Picks & SNF Playbook, 10/26: DraftKings & FanDuel
Published: Oct 26, 2025
We close out the eighth NFL Sunday of the 2025 season with an inter-conference battle with one of the biggest revenge game narratives in recent memory. Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers will host the Green Bay Packers for Sunday Night Football. It was 15 seasons ago when Rodgers won his only Super Bowl as the quarterback for the Packers, and that win just so happened to come against the Steelers in Super Bowl XLV. With injuries mounting and both teams in the hunt for the playoffs, there’s plenty of drama we need to account for with this batch of SNF DFS picks. Let’s take a look at the top plays and matchups for our Packers vs. Steelers DFS picks to put a bow on Week 8!

Packers vs. Steelers DFS Picks & Preview: Sunday Night Football, 10/26
As mentioned at the top, this revenge game between Rodgers and the Packers gets primetime treatment. Rodgers spent 18 seasons with the Green Bay Packers and was the starter for 15 of them and brought the small market of Green Bay, Wisconsin a Super Bowl title and won multiple NFL MVP awards.
But a change of scenery was in order as the Packers had his replacement, Jordan Love, waiting in the wings. Rodgers spent the last couple years with the New York Jets and has now revived his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers for what could be his final season in the NFL. He does turn 42 in December after all. The Steelers enter Week 8 at 4-2 and sit atop the AFC North. They are coming off a shocking loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, but that Thursday night matchup does afford the Steelers a couple extra days of rest for Week 8.
The Green Bay Packers enter Week 8 technically sitting atop the NFC standings with a 4-1-1 record. That may change by the time this game kicks off. They’re coming off back-to-back wins and they’ve scored 27+ points in all but one game this season. But the NFC North is far from decided. The Packers have only played one divisional game so far and both the Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears sit just one game behind them in the loss column.
Both these defenses are rounding into form as well. The Steelers didn’t have a great start but their win against the New England Patriots where they had five takeaways certainly kickstarted some defensive momentum as they now have 19 sacks in their last four games. The Green Bay Packers made a big splash right before the season acquiring Micah Parsons and he will likely draw plenty of double teams from the much-improved Steelers offensive line. Let’s take a look at the top Packers vs. Steelers DFS picks for Sunday Night Football!

NFL Weather: Packers vs. Steelers SNF, October 26th
This does look like it has potential to be the coldest game so far this season. Fortunately, the elements don’t appear as if they’ll be incredibly harsh. Winds will be very light and they shouldn’t exceed 10 miles per hour. Skies will be clear and temperatures will start at roughly 50 degrees and drop as the game progresses later into the evening.
Â
Packers vs. Steelers Injuries: Sunday Night Football Week 8
The visiting Green Bay Packers listed just about everybody on their injury report for Week 8. The notable plays already ruled out are defensive lineman Lukas Van Ness and wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks. The Packers wide receiver room has taken a beating all season as Jayden Reed’s be on IR and Christian Watson’s been recovering from a torn ACL from January. But Watson has been practicing in a limited fashion this week but until he can log a full session, I’m skeptical that he plays on Sunday.
Rookie receiver, Matthew Golden, is listed as questionable after being added as a late addition to the injury report on Friday but I expect him to play. And keep an eye on Brandon McManus’s status for Sunday’s game as he could return after missing a couple weeks. We’ll know for sure 90 minutes before kickoff.
The Pittsburgh Steelers don’t have many noteworthy injuries we’re monitoring. Scotty Miller has been ruled out and DK Metcalf appeared on the injury report, but he logged a full session on Friday after getting a rest day Thursday. He’s likely fine for our SNF DFS picks.

NFL Sunday Night Football DFS Picks: MVP/Captain
Josh Jacobs, RB, Green Bay Packers - DraftKings: $11,000 | FanDuel: $14,600
The only thing we can even slightly complain about with Josh Jacobs is the efficiency. The offensive line has been a bit beat up this season but a lot of that came before the team’s Bye week when the line was missing Aaron Banks and Zach Tom. Those two have since returned and Jacobs has found the end zone four times in his last two games bringing his total to eight touchdowns through six games.
I am hoping we see more consistency from the O-line because they rank 29th in yards before contact per carry (0.82) and 26th in run block win rate (69%). But we are getting volume and the high value goal line touches for Jacobs carry a lot of weight. Jacobs has popped for 30+ fantasy points on DraftKings in two of his last three games and he hasn’t logged a single 100-yard bonus yet so that just speaks to the safety net of his volume and touchdown equity.
Aaron Rodgers, QB, Pittsburgh Steelers – DraftKings: $9,800 | FanDuel: $11,600
We’ve already seen what Aaron Rodgers can do against one of his former teams this season, so I don’t want to miss out on an opportunity for him to go nuclear once again in a revenge game. Back in Week 1, Rodgers completed 73.3% of his pass attempts in a win over the New York Jets where he also threw four touchdown passes. Through six games this season he’s already halfway to his touchdown total from a year ago.
Despite his age, Rodgers ranks 10th among qualified quarterbacks in EPA/Play (0.16) and he’s 8th in completion percentage over expected (4.3%) but he’s also only 32nd in average depth of target (6.1) which is a little surprising considering some of the deeper highlight reel plays DK Metcalf has made this season.
A lot of the more recent credit should go to Pittsburgh’s offensive line. They rank 29th in pass block win rate (53%) but they’re actually 3rd in pressure rate allowed (24.5%) and Rodgers has only been sacked twice in his last four games. Obviously the offensive line will have their hands full with Micah Parsons but the group protecting Rodgers has shown improvements with each passing week.
DK Metcalf, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers - DraftKings: $9,400 | FanDuel: $11,400
I have struggled to determine whether this is a great matchup for DK or not. There are certainly things that I like. The Packers play about 80% zone coverage and Metcalf ranks top 10 in yards per route run against zone coverage. But the Packers aren’t giving up a ton of production after the catch. Green Bay’s secondary ranks 2nd in yards after catch per reception (3.88) and they’re 1st in yards after catch over expected per reception (-1.74).
Metcalf also hasn’t necessarily popped for a big game yet to warrant being mentioned in this section. He only has one game with over 20 fantasy points and he’s only recorded five receptions in a game just once so far this year. However, there’s big play upside here. Over his last two games he has five receptions of 20+ yards and he’s found the end zone four times in six games already this year.
I am of the mindset that if Rodgers can pop off for his revenge game against Green Bay in primetime, then he’s likely doing so by getting his WR1 involved. I am concerned about Green Bay’s ability to limit receivers after the catch coupled with Rodgers’ poor aDOT. This is a high risk, high reward kind of play.
Tucker Kraft, TE, Green Bay Packers – DraftKings: $8,400 | FanDuel: $10,000
It’s always incredibly difficult trying to navigate the pool of pass catchers on Green Bay. However, Dontayvion Wicks has been ruled out, Jayden Reed remains on IR, and Christian Watson is questionable to play as of Saturday morning. So we can possibly expect consolidated targets funneled to Kraft, Romeo Doubs, and Josh Jacobs depending on how the inactives shake out 90 minutes before kickoff.
I’m going with Kraft as the Captain pick over Doubs because, well, it’s National Tight End Day and we can close out this momentous holiday with a score or two from Kraft. He’s had to play through injury in a couple games and yet he still touts 20.4% target per route run, 2.08 yards per route run, and a 10.2% first down per route run rate.
While the Packers likely lean on Josh Jacobs if they get to the goal line, we shouldn’t completely forget about Kraft. He has eight red zone targets so far this season which ranks 4th among tight ends. In two games since their Bye week, the Steelers have given up 15 receptions for 153 yards and a touchdown to opposing tight ends.

NFL Sunday Night Football DFS Picks: Core Plays
Jordan Love, QB, Green Bay Packers – DraftKings: $10,000 | FanDuel: $12,400
It might seem odd that I’m putting the younger of the two starting quarterbacks in this game in the core plays section while the one with the AARP card is a Captain recommendation. The Steelers are incredibly prone to being beaten through the air. Joe Flacco torched them for 342 yards and three touchdowns on Thursday Night Football in Week 7. On the season the Steelers are allowing the second-most passing yards, behind only the Dallas Cowboys. On paper, Love is a great play.
Love even ranks 3rd among qualified quarterbacks in EPA/Play (0.32) behind only Daniel Jones and Drake Maye. He also ranks 6th in success rate (53.2%) and 5th in completion percentage over expected (6.9%). The Packers, despite missing Banks and Tom for a couple games, still rank 5th in pass block win rate (68%).
But volume is a big concern for me. In three-of-six games this year, Love has thrown for just one touchdown. And there’s only been one game this season where he’s attempted 32+ pass attempts and that came against the Dallas Cowboys. And this seems to be the year, every quarterback looks like an MVP against Dallas. So I’m just going to lean into what I’m seeing since Green Bay loves to beat teams on the ground and when they get inside the 10-yard line they’re handing it off to Josh Jacobs.
Romeo Doubs, WR, Green Bay Packers – DraftKings: $7,600 | FanDuel: $8,600
This is another week with a strong matchup for Doubs amidst some confusion as to which pass catchers for Green Bay will be available for Jordan Love Sunday night. And yes, Doubs is absolutely in play as an option at Captain.
Per Mike Clay of ESPN, the Pittsburgh Steelers allow the most targets, catches, and yards to opposing wide receivers. Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins carved up this secondary up in Week 7 to the tune of 22 receptions for 257 yards and they both found the end zone.
Doubs runs about 72% of his routes out wide and despite the low passing volume from Jordan Love, Doubs has seen at least eight targets in three straight games. Over his last two games he has a 31% target share while having a healthy 0.31 TPRR, 2.35 YPRR, and a 35% first read target share. And to top it all off, he’s earned a first down on 10.71% of his routes this year.
The downside to all these great numbers is just the fact the fantasy performances haven’t been very eye popping. He has only one game with over 15 fantasy points and that came in Week 4 when he scored three times on Sunday Night Football against the Dallas Cowboys. But Green Bay could be short on weapons this week, so I see no reason to avoid Doubs for our Packers vs. Steelers DFS picks.

NFL Sunday Night Football DFS Picks: Mid-Tier Plays
Jaylen Warren, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers – DraftKings: $9,600 | FanDuel: $9,800
This is a pretty tough spot for Jaylen Warren as the Green Bay Packers are allowing the second fewest rushing yards per game (76.5). Green Bay’s run defense is 10th in stuffed run rate (20.2%), 4th in yards before contact per attempt (0.77), and they’re 7th in run stop win rate (32%).
Warren is mostly a volume play, which is why I can’t leave him out of our Packers vs. Steelers DFS picks. In all five of his appearances this season he’s seen at least 13 touches including 18+ in three of those outings. He hasn’t found the end zone since Week 1 but he does still have involvement in the passing game. But the Arizona Cardinals and Cincinnati Bengals can attest to the fact that running backs involved in the passing game don’t necessarily translate to success against Green Bay.
Matthew Golden, WR, Green Bay Packers – DraftKings: $7,000 | FanDuel: $7,800
I’m a huge Matthew Golden fan, but even I will admit that I’m a bit discouraged we haven’t quite seen the breakout just yet. But alas, passing volume has been tough to gauge. More touchdowns have gone to Tucker Kraft. And more targets have filtered to Romeo Doubs. Such is life as a rookie receiver in Matt LaFleur’s offense.
I still believe in the upside though. We noted how bad the Steelers secondary is against wide receivers in Romeo Doubs’ section and that applies to Golden. The rookie wideout moves more around the field than Doubs does. Golden splits his time almost evenly in the slot (48%) and out wide (52%). According to Zach Kruse (Packers beat writer), among receivers with 15+ targets, Golden leads all rookies in success rate (60.9%), catch rate (78.3%), and he’s averaging 10.8 yards per target.
So if he’s ever given more targets then he could explode for a breakout. But he also hasn’t been involved in the red zone. The Packers tend to feed Jacobs inside the 10-yard line or they’ll lean on Kraft/Doubs inside the 20. I’m still a believer in this kid’s talent but the opportunity hasn’t quite been there yet despite the injures to Jayden Reed and Christian Watson.

NFL Sunday Night Football DFS Picks: Value Plays
Calvin Austin, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers – DraftKings: $5,800 | FanDuel: $4,800
Calvin Austin is set to return for his first game in four weeks. He was a full participant earlier in the week and in his absence, no other receivers for Pittsburgh really stepped up. Austin didn’t really see big volume prior to his injury, but he found the end zone in two-of-four appearances. At this price tag we really don’t need him to do much but if he finds the end zone he’ll pay off this price tag and he should draw significant exposure on FanDuel where he’s a phenomenal value.
Jonnu Smith, TE, Pittsburgh Steelers – DraftKings: $4,200 | FanDuel: $5,400
Pat Freiermuth, TE, Pittsburgh Steelers – DraftKings: $4,000 | FanDuel: $7,000
Some interesting pricing with the tight ends for the Steelers on this slate. This game is in primetime on National Tight End Day, so I want to have my bases covered for the Packers vs. Steelers DFS picks. Darnell Washington does have three straight games with three receptions for Pittsburgh, but something tells me he may be tasked with staying on the line to double team Micah Parsons.
So I do give slight preference to Smith and Freiermuth. Muth is a trendy play because of his massive game against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 7 but that does seem like a bit of an outlier performance because he had just 76 total receiving yards entering that game. Both are definitely in play as value options that could find the end zone and we know Arthur Smith loves getting Jonnu Smith involved every week.
Kenneth Gainwell, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers – DraftKings: $3,000 | FanDuel: $6,200
As we mentioned in Jaylen Warren’s section, this is a tough matchup for the Pittsburgh backfield. Gainwell really saw his production drop off in Week 7 with Warren resuming the lead back duties. He only touched the ball five times, but he may see more involvement in the passing game if there’s any negative game script where the Steelers are trailing and playing from behind. He does have 14 receptions in his last three games.

SNF DFS Picks: Kickers & D/ST
We have two strong defenses in this matchup for our Packers vs. Steelers DFS picks. Have the fantasy totals stood out much? Not really. The Packers have gone over 10 fantasy points once and that was back in Week 1. At least the Steelers have returned 10+ fantasy points in three of their last four games. It’ll be tough for them to do that Sunday night, however.
The Packers rank 23rd in pass attempts per game (29.3) so it makes sense why Jordan Love’s only been sacked 10 times this season (three times in his last three games). Plus his offensive line has been getting healthy following the Bye week. But the Steelers do rank 5th in blitz rate (34.1%), 5th in sack rate (8.2%), and 2nd in pass rush win rate (50%). Jordan Love ranks 20th among qualified quarterbacks in turnover-worthy play rate (3.2%) so it’s possible the Steelers can come up with some big plays defensively. But remember, D/ST’s can’t get sacks as much against run-heavy offenses.
For the Green Bay Packers, they have Micah Parsons which will always put them in play in my opinion. The Packers have already had their Bye week and Parsons didn’t play a full allotment of snaps to start the season. And yet, Parsons still leads all edge rushers in pressures (39) just ahead of Jared Verse (36), who hasn’t yet had his Bye week.
Despite Parsons’ great pass rush numbers, the Packers as a collective group don’t blitz all that much. They’re 29th in blitz rate (19.1%) but they’re 5th in pressure rate (36.6%) and pass rush win rate (44%). They do have three games this season where they’ve collected 4+ sacks in a game but they also only have three takeaways which is capping the fantasy ceiling. They are difficult to run on so containing Aaron Rodgers in a revenge game is where this defense will either shine or fail.
Chris Boswell is a good option at Flex because, in six games, he has converted nine field goal attempts from 40+ yards. The floor feels reasonable in this matchup and the ceiling is nice as well as he’s returned at least a dozen fantasy points in three-of-six games this season.
We don’t have as much clarity on Green Bay’s kicker as of Saturday morning. Whoever they go with is playable as well. I don’t normally dig into too much analysis for kickers because their production is largely dependent on the offense being good at moving the ball down the field but stalling before the end zone. We know Green Bay can certainly move the ball. Before his injury, Brandon McManus returned at least nine fantasy points in three-of-four games while seeing at least two attempts in every game from Weeks 1-4. While he’s been out, Lucas Havrisik has kept that trend going while returning double digit fantasy points in back-to-back games. Whoever is listed as the official kicker for this game is worthy of mixing into the player pool for our SNF DFS picks.
