Welcome to Week 16 of the NFL season and the next edition DFS RB Coach! I felt confident that Week 15 would snap the funk and I said “This is the week we get back on track with a stacked RB coach though, I can feel it in my bones!” And that’s exactly what happened as I had the top back in Christian McCaffrey (41.7) and great plays in Kyren Williams (24.5) and Rachaad White (21.9). Bijan Robinson (0.4) did continue to be a thorn in my side though and I am pretty sick of him disappointing me, but I digress. Enough about last week though, let’s look to build off it and have another great week. It’s time to start putting those DraftKings and FanDuel lineups together and hit the big paydays! Let’s dive into my favorite RB plays!

Week 16 Picks

NFL DFS RB Top Plays

Rachaad White, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Last week about White I said “If you followed the RB Coach this season, you know White has been my guy. Someone I look to play on a regular basis and he seems to just always come through with good weeks.  He has scored at least 16.0 dk points in SEVEN STRAIGHT games, which is very impressive and shows the kind of floor that he provides.” And what did he do? He goes out and scores 21.9 dk points. The guy has been incredible and proven all the doubters wrong. He is the most expensive back on the slate this week, but it’s a slate without CMC, Ekeler, or Kamara. His price tag is very doable, especially for the production we are getting out of him.

NFL DFS RB Mid-Tier Plays

Kenneth Walker, Seattle Seahawks

Walker reclaimed his role as the bell-cow back with a big performance against the Eagles on Monday Night Football, rushing 19 times for 86 yards and a touchdown while hauling in three passes for 26 yards to finish with 20.2 dk points. I look for him to continue that momentum heading into this Week 16 matchup against the Titans. Geno Smith is banged up and Drew Lock is Drew Lock, so either way, expect a lot of usage for Walker. The Titans rank as a middle of the road matchup for running backs this season, so nothing of concern there either.

Breece Hall, New York Jets

Hall did absolutely nothing against the Dolphins this past week as the Jets were shutout and lost 30-0, but that was last week and this week the Jets face one of the worst defenses in the league. The Commanders are the best matchup in the league for QBs and also a top-6 matchup for running backs as well, so the Jets should be able to do a lot more offensively this week, regardless of who ends up being the QB for them. Hall had at least five receptions and six targets in four straight games prior to this past week and we can expect him to be back involved in the passing game in this one. I would be surprised if he doesn’t bounce back and give us at least 15+ with the upside for plenty more.

James Conner, Arizona Cardinals

Conner has found a groove over the past two weeks, racking up 191 rushing yards and three touchdowns. He also caught three passes in his last game, a nice bounce back from the zero he had in the week prior and more of what we can usually expect from him. He has scored 25.5 and 17.9 dk points over his last two games and I expect his success to continue when the Cardinals take on the Bears in Week 16. The Bears rank as a good matchup for running backs this season and they aren’t a very good team, so it should be a competitive game, which bodes well for running backs, but especially running backs like Conner.

NFL DFS RB Value Plays

Roschon Johnson, Chicago Bears

Targeting running backs against the Cardinals has been a fruitful endeavor this season, but it’s a little tougher this week as the Bears don’t even really have a set backfield. Johnson had five carries last week, which was one less that Khalil Herbert had and one less than D’Onta Foreman had, but Johnson was the only one to find any success and he had four receptions on six targets, so I will lean him here. It’s been an odd run for Johnson in receiving work over the last five weeks with three games of at least four receptions, but he has had zero in the other two games. We are going to hope for 4+ here as a value play.

NFL DFS RB Fades

Devin Singletary, Buffalo Bills

Singletary had a nice game last week against the Titans and saw a ton of usage, and while he may still get the usage this week, I find it hard to see him have a big game in this matchup against the Browns. Cleveland ranks as a bad matchup for running backs this season and they have played in a lot of low scoring games, which I can easily see happening again this week. The touchdown upside for Singletary is very limited, which doesn’t bode well. He was averaging just 10.2 points per game over his last three games prior to Week 15 and I expect to see a similar number this week around 10-12 points.
