There are just two NFL preseason Week 3 matchups to kick off the action, with Patriots vs. Giants wrapping it up. Patriots vs. Giants Predictions For NFL Preseason Week 3, Thursday 8/21

Well, it’s official - Daniel Jones will be the starting QB to open the 2025-26 season! Don’t worry, Giants fans, we just wanted to see a millisecond of panic before realizing that he’s in Indianapolis with the Colts now.

However, New York has still had plenty of QB debates these past couple of weeks. That’s because, although seasoned vet and former Super Bowl champ Russell Wilson is slated to be the Week 1 starter, rookie Jaxson Dart is stealing the headlines with his preseason play thus far. He’s proven that it’s no fluke either.

The Ole Miss product truly has moxy, swag or whatever you prefer to call it. After throwing 12-for-19 for 154 yards and a touchdown in the opener, Dart followed it up by going 14-for-16 for 137 yards, a touchdown AND a rushing touchdown last weekend.

Since New England already knows that their young QB - Drake Maye - will be under center come Week 1, we saw far more Joshua Dobbs last weekend. With New York being the ones to put their best foot forward, we see them heavily favored in the Patriots vs. Giants odds for NFL preseason Week 3.

Speaking of those lines, let’s transition into the best bet from our Patriots vs. Giants predictions for Thursday.

Patriots vs. Giants Best Bet: Over 37.5 Points (-120 At Novig)

As has been and will be the case for the NFL preseason, our options in terms of betting markets to target are few and far between, at least until far closer to kickoff time. It can also be quite daunting to lock in Patriots vs. Giants predictions seeing such a significant favorite in New York and underdog in New England.

Even still, we’ve got our favorite approach, which is to target the total instead. After seeing the NFL preseason Week 2 slate increase over/unders to 40 and up, we’re surprised this one isn’t continuing that trend. Outside of the Pats not needing to feature Drake Maye, these are two teams needing to prove themselves to their fans at the very least.

Given that they’re both 2-0 thus far and have averaged 34 (New England) and 32.5 (New York) points per game, it’s clear that they’re putting in the effort that other top teams aren’t. Of course, that also holds true for the defensive side of the ball as well.

However, at the end of the day, teams run the most vanilla defenses in the preseason, so there is only so much bend-don’t-break they can do. With both teams having proven that they can score 20+, we’ve got over 37.5 points (-120 at Novig) as the best bet from our Patriots vs. Giants predictions.
