As the old saying goes, “Good teams win, great teams cover.” We are back for Week 12 with our picks against the spread! Thanksgiving is right around the corner, football weather has arrived, and we have a phenomenal lineup of primetime games. THIS is the NFL.

Below, we will be breaking down our NFL Week 12 Picks Against The Spread while also going through the NFL Week 12 schedule. So without further ado, let's dive in!

NFL Week 12 Picks Against The Spread + NFL Week 12 Schedule Predictions

For the NFL Week 12 Schedule, we have 28 of the 32 teams playing in 14 games, meaning we have four teams on a bye week: the Denver Broncos, Miami Dolphins, Los Angeles Chargers, and Washington Commanders. It's also the week before Thanksgiving football, when the schedule gets REAL wacky. In the following section, you will find my predictions, with my NFL Week 12 Picks Against The Spread highlighted in bold. All lines are courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook:

NFL Week 12 Picks Against The Spread: Dallas Cowboys +3.5 (-122 at FanDuel Sportsbook)

The last time these two teams met was the NFL kickoff: Thursday Night Football Week One. Obviously, both these teams have changed a lot, from figuring things out, new players settling in, injuries, injured players getting healthy, trades, and more. In terms of improvements, though, I think the Cowboys have the edge.

During Week One, it was clear that George Pickens and Dak Prescott were not always on the same page. CeeDee Lamb was also struggling with drops. Now, this passing game seems unstoppable. The Cowboys now boast the number three offense in the NFL with the number one passing game. George Pickens is number two in receiving yards in the league, and Jake Ferguson is second in receptions among tight ends. This offense seemingly doesn't have a weakness.

Additionally, this defense is getting better and healthier as well. With the addition of Quinnen Williams via trade and guys like DeMarvion Overshown and Malik Hooker returning from injury, the unit looks far more complete and just held the Las Vegas Raiders to 16 points on primetime.

While I cannot overlook the fact that the Eagles' defense will be a better unit than Week One as well, since Jalen Carter was ejected at the beginning of the game, and multiple additions via trade, the Cowboys offense was still able to put up 40 points on the elite Packers defense and 24 on the Broncos defense. So, the odds they once again only put up 20 against the Eagles are low.

The Eagles' offense has been up and down all season, so they need to be firing on all cylinders to keep up with the Cowboys. Since they are favored and seemingly win every game close, it wouldn't surprise me if they pull off the win, but getting a field goal cushion here makes me like the value on taking the Cowboys here.

NFL Week 12 Picks Against The Spread: Minnesota Vikings +6.5 (-110 at DraftKings Sportsbook)

As much fun as it is to joke about “Nine," especially as a Bears fan, I do really like this Vikings team. Since Brian Flores joined the team as their defensive coordinator a few years back, this has consistently been one of the league's top units, and it is once again in the top 10. Now, getting healthier and gelling together, they are only getting better.

Offensively, the Vikings have admittedly been up and down, especially with J.J. McCarthy under center. While he has shown flashes of greatness, the mistakes have often been overwhelming. That being said, since Aaron Jones returned to the lineup, the run game has gotten going more consistently. That, along with the offensive line getting healthier as well, creates an offensive game plan that I think could help the Vikings keep this game close enough to cover.

The Packers defense has been incredible this season, but they have started to show some holes against the run, giving up 138.7 yards per game over their last three games (up from 96.8 yards per game over the entire season). Leaning into the run game will allow Kevin O'Connell to draw up some easier looks in the passing game off of play action.

Meanwhile, offensively for the Packers, I think they could struggle. They have averaged under 16 points per game over their past three games, and it is clear the offense is not the same without Tucker Kraft at tight end and, more importantly, without a competent run game. Superstar running back Josh Jacobs is currently dealing with injury and is questionable for this game. Even if Jacobs plays, he will not be 100% and the Packers will have to rely on a passing game that lacks reliable hands, has an up-and-down quarterback, all against a top defense against the pass. Over their past four meetings, the Vikings are 3-1, and I wouldn't be too surprised if this defense forces their record up to 4-1 over five games after this weekend.
