Bills vs. Jets Predictions for NFL Week Two, Sunday 9/14
To start their seasons, these AFC East rivals had as close a game as it gets. Across both of them, they were decided by just three total points, with the Bills winning arguably the game of the year, 41-40 over the Baltimore Ravens, and the Jets losing 34-32 to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Those final scores alone mean that we’re just going to take the over and call it a day, right? As the now-retired Lee Corso would say - Not so fast, my friend. While it certainly wouldn’t be the craziest approach, we want the best value possible from our Bills vs. Jets predictions.
Before we fully get into our best bet, this is a rivalry in which the Jets are really trying to rewrite the script; they’ve now lost eight of the last 10 meetings with Josh Allen and the Bills. If they want to do so, they’re going to have to step up defensively after allowing a 41-year-old Aaron Rodgers to throw four touchdown passes.
You may say the same regarding Buffalo, but facing an elite Ravens squad is a bit different, and that leads us into the best bet from our Bills vs. Jets picks.

Bills vs. Jets Best Bet: Justin Fields Under 189.5 Passing Yards (-115 at ESPN BET)
Based on the Bills vs. Jets odds for NFL Week 2, the books are projecting a score of around 26-19 in favor of Buffalo, which is similar to the last time these division rivals faced off in East Rutherford. That was an even closer 23-20 win for the Bills, so with the point spread at a key number of seven, we’re looking elsewhere.
That alternative spot is us fading a guy that everyone seems to be enamored with following Week 1. That would be new Jets QB Justin Fields, who admittedly helped the New York offense look more explosive than they have in quite some time.
That said, Fields is far from a complete QB. He is absolutely an athlete who can make something out of nothing, hence his two rushing touchdowns. However, we still aren’t sold on him in terms of a pure passer. When he doesn’t get his first read, he often just tucks and runs, hence his 12 carries last Sunday.
He’s only faced the Bills once as a Chicago Bear, and he had just 119 passing yards. For what it’s worth, he also only rushed for 11 yards on seven carries. Put this in perspective - Buffalo was just in a 41-40 shootout with an elite QB in Lamar Jackson.
Even with that being the case, the two-time MVP still only threw for 209 yards! Sure, they have Derrick Henry to run the rock, but New York also just had Breece Hall rush for 107 yards on 5.6 yards per carry! It all adds up to the best bet from our Bills vs. Jets predictions on Justin Fields under 189.5 passing yards (-115 at ESPN BET).
