NFL Week 6 wraps up with a spectacular Monday Night Football match-up as Dak Prescott leads the Dallas Cowboys into southern California to take on Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers. While the game has some marquee names like Austin Ekeler and CeeDee Lamb, expect all eyes to be locked onto Chargers offensive coordinator Kellen Moore who faces his former team for the first time since leaving Dallas. We all love our revenge-game narratives and this one could be the biggest we see all year. We know that 60-percent of the time it works every time, so let’s figure out how we want to set up our Monday Night Football bets and player props.

NFL Monday Night Football Best Bets: Dallas Cowboys vs Los Angeles Chargers

The Spread: Cowboys -1.5

With two teams that have so much offensive upside and such a close spread, betting this game with the spread is really no different than just picking the winner. As a result, you’re looking for ny sort of empirical data to help you decide. Try this one on for size -- since the start of the 2022 season, teams are 2-18 straight up and 4-14-2 ATS the week after facing the San Francisco 49ers. Hmmm. Now who played the Niners back in Week 5? Oh yeah, that would be Dallas. Now, I certainly don’t want to base it just on that, but with both offenses capable of putting up strong point totals and both defenses having their shortcomings – the Chargers D is a hit mess and the Cowboys are contending with injuries – this looks like it could end up as a back-and-forth game with a game-winning field goal. I like Cameron Dicker more than I like Brandon Aubrey. Pick: Chargers +1.5

The Total: 51

While both offenses can be highly-productive, we also have two teams that routinely shoot themselves in the foot. The Chargers are averaging 27.5 points per game, but their defense just allows everyone to walk through them. The Cowboys are averaging 26.8 points per game, but that number is skewed thank to putting up 40 on the Giants and 38 on the Patriots. In their other three games, they’ve averaged fewer than 19 points per game. Can the Chargers defense help stifle the Cowboys potential? Can the Cowboys defense overcome injuries and use what they know about Kellen Moore’s tendencies to hold Los Angeles in check? With the under being 6-1 on Monday Night Football, we’ll let the trend be our friend and watch as one of these teams actually does shoot themselves in the foot. Pick: Under 51
