NFL Week 3 Best Bets and Prop Bets
Ready for some NFL Week 3 best bets and player props? I’m definitely ready to bet some games, but the weather on the eastern seaboard has me all sorts of bummed regarding player props. You can still bet them on your own, but in the games where it appears weather could be an issue, I’m likely to leave them alone from such a granular perspective. I still have a few to offer up, so don’t worry about that. If you’re looking for some bets a little earlier than here on a Saturday night, be sure to check me out on Friday’s Bettor Sports Betting Show with Dan Servodidio. Some of what you will see below is from that show, but I also gave out a few “bet it now” wagers that might have different lines and spreads at this point.
NFL Week 3 Best Bets
Atlanta Falcons at Detroit Lions
You’ll be hard-pressed to find someone outside of Atlanta who is a bigger fan of what the Falcons are doing this year, so accept some of my biases. Their offense may be a little too old-school for some, but in this day and age where everyone in the NFL is slinging the rock like they’re playing hot potato, a run-heavy scheme with such beats like Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier gets my blood pumping. What I love even more is how they rebuilt their defense during the offseason. Jared Goff is going to have a tough time with a hobbled receiving corps and who know what’s going on in that backfield right now. There’s a little piece of me that says “Why the hell are the Lions favored in this game for and why are you falling for it picking the Falcons?” but I just don’t see Detroit winning this game.
Pick: Falcons +3 (+100)
Buffalo Bills at Washington Commanders
Potential weather issues with this tropical cyclone, but even without any weather, I just don’t love what I see from the Bills offense right now. Josh Allen is a stud and I love James Cook, but I’m just not sure they can blow teams away with their passing attack. Stefon Diggs is great and all, but he can’t do it alone and Ken Dorsey is not a pass-happy coordinator anyway, so there are some limitations. The Commanders defense also looks pretty sick with the return of Chase Young. They lead the league in sacks and already have four takeaways, so I believe they can keep this one close.
Pick: Commanders +6.5 (-108)
Pittsburgh Steelers at Las Vegas Raiders
Here we go. This is one of those where I ask myself why in the world would the Raiders be favorites in this one? Yes, even at home. Their defense is super-soft and they definitely have some offensive issues to work out. Meanwhile the Steelers are coming off a big, emotional Monday Night win against the Browns and their defense looks sick. Even as a road team, I would think the Steelers are favored in this one and so while it’s tempting to take the points, I am locking down a close home favorite.
Pick: Raiders -2.5 (-115)
Los Angeles Chargers at Minnesota Vikings
If this game doesn’t turn out to be the 56-49 barn-burner everyone is expecting, I’m seriously going to cry. I love both offenses so much and I hate both defenses even more. I said it on the betting show, but I will happily repeat here/. I want Kevin O’Connell/Wes Phillips and Brandon Staley/Kellen Moore to come out like Yosemite Sam busting into a saloon with both guns blazing. These teams are both desperate for a win and I’m sure both head coaches are living on the hot seat. This bet is my fun one. I am betting what I want to happen here and it just so happens to also be what I believe will happen as well.
Pick: Over 54 (-110)
