Tuesday’s NFL injury report is essentially all the nicks and bruises from the weekend of games that just passed, but Friday’s injury report has all of the practice reports involved, as well as all of the injuries picked up in practice during the week. With the Week 5 Sunday games right around the corner, let’s dive into all of the relevant injuries for our fantasy football lineups.

2022 NFL Injury Report Week 5

NFL Quarterback Injury Report

Tom Brady, TB - Shoulder

After missing practice on Wednesday due to a shoulder injury, Tom Brady was back in total capacity on Thursday putting any notion of him missing a game to bed rather quickly.

Daniel Jones, NYG - Ankle

UPDATE - 10/7 @ 11:00 am EST - Daniel Jones has been removed from the injury report and will start the Giants' Week 5 game against the Packers. Throughout the week the Giants tried out free-agent quarterbacks but signed none of them. That’s because Daniel Jones has improved with each passing day as he practiced on Wednesday and Thursday. In the video below, you see Jones rolling to his left and looking light on his feet. He’s traveling with the team to London and expectations are he’s the starting quarterback in Week 5.

Zach Wilson, NYJ - Ankle

It’s been a rocky start to the year for Zach Wilson as he’s been dealing with a plethora of injuries and although he’s battling through an ankle injury, he practiced in full on Thursday. He’s good to go for Week 5 barring any setbacks.

Mac Jones, NE - Ankle

UPDATE - 10/7 @ 9 pm EST - It's likely that we see rookie Bailey Zappe start his first career game on Sunday as the Patriots have listed Mac Jones as doubtful for Week 5. Although he practiced this week, there was a noticeable limp from the start and it was always going to have to be a miracle for him to suit up.

Does Mac Jones look all that healthy? Not really, but he has now practiced two days in a row, albeit in a limited fashion. The Patriots placed Brian Hoyer on the IR today, so the quarterback position is reeling, but maybe Jones can gut it out this week and take the field as the Patriots' starter. Continue to monitor the Pats practice reports on Friday.

Jameis Winston, NO - Back

UPDATE - 10/7 @ 3:00 pm EST - Andy Dalton has been named the starter for the second consecutive week and Winston, who wasn't able to practice this week, will miss another game. Hopefully, the tides turn for him heading into Week 6.

It’s been another tough week in the Jameis Winston camp as we head into Friday and he’s yet to practice. This obviously muddies up his chances of playing this week and likely gives Andy Dalton another start under center.

NFL Running Back Injury Report

Alvin Kamara, NO - Ribs

The Saints were missing some crucial members of their offense in practice on Thursday, but Alvin Kamara wasn’t one of them. Kamara was back at practice for the second straight day and the expectation is that he’s active for Week 5.

D'Andre Swift, DET - Shoulder

Without being ruled out, D’Andre Swift has all but been ruled out for Week 5. It’ll be the second consecutive game Swift will miss and Detroit follows up Week 5 with a bye in Week 6. The plan is to get Swift back on the field for Week 7.

Rashaad Penny, SEA - Shoulder

After missing practice on Wednesday, Rashaad Penny was a full participant in practice on Thursday. It was obviously a little alarming he didn’t practice on Wednesday given his laundry list of injuries he’s had throughout his career.

David Montgomery, CHI - Ankle

UPDATE - 10/7 @ 9 pm EST - It looks like Montgomery has a chance to play after logging another limited practice on Friday. The Bears have listed him as questionable for Sunday after practicing for two consecutive days. There has been no talk on whether or not he'll be limited if he does return.

After missing the Bears' Week 4 loss to the Giants, he started off this week missing Wednesday’s practice. That said, he was back on the field on Thursday in a limited fashion, which bodes well for his status in Week 5.

Breece Hall, NYJ - Knee

It’s nothing that’s really being talked about all that much, but Breece Hall is dealing with some sort of knee ailment. It hasn’t kept him from practicing this week, but he’s been limited on both Wednesday and Thursday. His snap share continues to rise each and every week and this knee injury doesn’t seem like it’s slowing him down any.

Kenneth Walker III, SEA - Shoulder

After a good start to the week on Wednesday, Kenneth Walker III landed on the injury report with a shoulder injury. We’re unsure of the severity at this point, but Walker III showing up limited out of the clouds is something to monitor.

Nyheim Hines, IND - Concussion

It was a scary sight on Thursday night football as Nyheim Hines took a big hit on the first drive of the game and stumbled his way to the sidelines. He was evaluated for a concussion and was eventually ruled out with one. We hope Hines is OK moving forward.

Brian Robinson, WAS - Leg

Brian Robinson is back. Incredible stuff. Even when he’s active, which we’re unsure when that’ll be, he won’t immediately be the bell cow. That said, he has a chance to play in Week 5.

Welcome back, man!

Boston Scott, PHI - Ribs

After missing the Eagles' Week 4 game, it looks like Boston Scott is going to return to action this week. He’s practiced in a limited fashion on both Wednesday and Thursday. Scott is nothing more than a potential touchdown poacher to Jalen Hurts or Miles Sanders.

NFL Wide Receivers Injury Report

Tyreek Hill, MIA - Quadriceps

After not showing up on the injury report on Wednesday, Tyreek Hill popped up with a quad injury on Thursday, practicing in a limited fashion. It doesn’t sound like anything serious, but something to monitor heading into Friday’s practice.

CeeDee Lamb, DAL - Groin

UPDATE - 10/7 @ 11 am EST - Just like we told you, don't worry, Lamb is fine. He's going to practice on Friday so as long as there are no setbacks, he'll suit up in Week 5. Although CeeDee Lamb showed up on the injury report on Thursday as a “DNP”, he assured everyone that he’s fine. Looks like one of the league’s best receivers will be on the field in Week 5.

Keenan Allen, LAC - Hamstring

UPDATE - 10/7 @ 9 pm EST - Keenan Allen has once again been ruled out for the Chargers game this week. He'll have one extra day next week to return as the Chargers take on the Broncos on Monday Night Football in Week 6.

We’re all starting to worry about Keenan Allen’s hamstring, right? He hasn’t practiced, let alone played, since Week 1. He missed practice once again on Thursday and things just haven’t gotten any better. Have to consider him closer to doubtful than probable for Week 5 unless things drastically change on Friday.

Marquise Brown, ARI - Foot

It was a good sign for Marquise Brown on Thursday as he re-joined his team on the practice field on Thursday as he continues to battle through a toe injury. He had this injury last week and although he was listed as questionable, he played through with no limitations.

Tee Higgins, CIN - Ankle

Our report on Tee Higgins’ ankle on Friday is much the same as it was on Tuesday. Nobody is concerned about his ankle and even his offensive coordinator said Higgins is going to play. Although he's listed as questionable, it seems more precautionary than anything else. Barring a setback he's going to play.

Amon-Ra St. Brown, DET - Ankle

UPDATE - 10/7 @ 11:00 am EST - In a pretty big development, Amon-Ra St. Brown will practice on Friday after missing the first two days of practice this week and all of practice and the Lions Week 4 game. His status is still undetermined for this week, but this is a big step in the right direction. After not practicing Wednesday or Thursday, it looks as if Amon-Ra St. Brown is going to miss Detroit’s Week 5 game, which means we won’t see him until after the Week 6 bye week.

Michael Thomas, NO - Foot

UPDATE - 10/7 @ 3:00 pm EST - It's official that Michael Thomas is OUT for Week 5.

It’s seemingly bad reports piled on top of worse ones. Although we aren’t sure how serious the injury is, it’s bad enough to where he’s about to miss his second consecutive game this week after not practicing for the second straight day.

The day before, a report came out from an editor of the Saints SBNation site about Thomas’ injury being bad. Real bad. We’ll find out how bad if the foot doesn’t get any better anytime soon, I suppose.

Jaylen Waddle, MIA - Groin

This isn’t the first time Jaylen Waddle has dealt with a groin injury this year as he was questionable heading into Week 4 as well but played 86% of the snaps. Nothing yet suggests Waddle is in danger of missing the Dolphins Week 5 game against the Jets.

Chris Godwin, TB - Knee

Anytime we get a guy practicing on both Wednesday and Thursday it’s a good sign for them heading into the weekend. Chris Godwin’s knee is seemingly fine and everything looks good for him in Week 5.

Diontae Johnson, PIT - Hip

So the injury is being listed as a hip, but per Brian Batko, Steelers reporter for the Post-Gazette Sports, Diontae Johnson was feeling pain in his leg that he had from the Jets game. That being said, Johnson is not at all worried that the injury is serious and we should expect to see him playing in Week 5.

Rashod Bateman, BAL - Foot

UPDATE - 10/7 @ 3 pm EST - Rashod Bateman has officially been ruled out of Baltimore's Week 5 contest after missing practice all week long.

After playing a season-low 44% of the snaps in Week 4 due to his toe injury, Rashod Bateman’s status heading into Week 5 is concerning. He has not practiced either day this week and if you had plans to use him, start looking at other options. We’ll most likely get final confirmation on Friday’s practice report.

Curtis Samuel, WAS - Illness

UPDATE - 10/7 @ 9 pm EST - Curtis Samuel has been removed from the injury report and is going to play in Week 5. Great news for Washington as they're down multiple key pass catchers this week.

It’s a non-COVID-related illness for Curtis Samuel, but it’s kept him off the practice field in back-to-back days. Samuel could definitely still suit up in Week 5, but if his sickness continues to be this severe, he may miss this game.

Hunter Renfrow, LV - Concussion

After missing the last couple of games due to a concussion, Hunter Renfrow was back at practice, out of the red non-contact jersey, in full capacity on Thursday. Everything’s on the up and up for Renfrow heading into Week 5.

Zay Jones, JAC - Ankle

UPDATE - 10/7 @ 9 pm EST - Doug Pederson said Zay Jones was good to go for Week 5 and that's all we needed to hear. The Jaguars will have their new weapon back on the field this week in a great match-up.

It was about this time last week when Zay Jones twisted his ankle bad enough to keep him out of the Jags Week 4 games, it looks like things are trending in the right direction for him in Week 5. He’s been a limited participant each of the last two days.

Jakobi Meyers, NE - Knee

UPDATE - 10/7 @ 9 pm EST - After getting in a third straight practice in a limited fashion, the Patriots have officially listed Jakobi Meyers as questionable. He hasn't played since Week 2 and the fact that he's practiced and has just been listed as questionable is a good sign. Both Mac Jones and Jonnu Smith also practiced this week and they're both doubtful.

After missing two straight games, Jakobi Meyers has practiced for two consecutive days and as long as there is no setback, it looks as if he’s going to suit up for Week 5.

Jarvis Landry, NO - Ankle

Although Michael Thomas wasn’t on the practice field, Jarvis Landry was. Even if it was just limited, it’s a good sign that Landry will once again be on the field in Week 5. He wasn’t exactly Andy Dalton’s favorite target, but he clearly didn’t look to be full strength last week.

Treylon Burks, TEN - Toe

So, it’s only a matter of time before they rule Treylon Burks out surely, right? RIGHT? We’ve heard everything from a multi-week injury to a possible IR stint, so why are the Titans just listing him as a DNP and moving on? Seems pretty weird.

DJ Chark, DET - Ankle

UPDATE - 10/7 @ 3 pm EST - For the second consecutive week, Chark logs a practice followed by his head coach ruling him out. What's going on with Chark? It was a weird week of practice for DJ Chark and the Lions last week as he showed up as limited, it looked like he was going to play, and then he was ruled out on Sunday. This time around, he didn’t practice on Wednesday, and returned to practice on Thursday, so what does Friday have in store for us? There is nothing set in stone with Chark’s status, but obviously, we like to see him practicing.

Wan'Dale Robinson, NYG - Knee

UPDATE - 10/7 @ 11:00 am EST - After getting positive reports at practice on both Wednesday and Thursday, Wan'Dale Robinson missed practice on Friday and was ultimately ruled out of Sunday's game.Things are getting spicy for the Giants rookie receiver and Wan’Dale Robinson has practiced two days in a row and traveled with the team to London on Thursday. What gives us optimism that he’ll play is that both Kenny Golladay and Kadarius Toney did not travel, and will not play. With the Giants so banged up, Robinson could have a big role off the rip of his return.

Kadarius Toney, NYG - Hamstring

Kadarius Toney is not traveling with the team to London for the Giants' Week 5 match-up against the Packers. He’s getting close to a return, but it will not be this week.

Jahan Dotson, WAS - Hamstring

UPDATE - 10/7 @ 9 pm EST - Dotson has been ruled out for Week 5 and it's possible, because Washington plays on a short week in Week 6, he misses that game as well.

Things are on the downswing for Jahan Dotson as he hasn’t practiced yet this week after tweaking his hamstring. It was said after Dotson was injured in Week 4 that he could miss one-to-two weeks, so that looks like it’s coming to fruition here.

Joshua Palmer, LAC - Ankle

With Keenan Allen out, Joshua Palmer has been able to maximize his fantasy value, but he’s now dealing with an ankle ailment that has kept him limited at practice in each of the last two days. Palmer has a chance to be a focal point of the passing offense if he plays and Keenan Allen sits out once again.

Rondale Moore, ARI - Knee

UPDATE - 10/7 @ 9 pm EST - Although he returned to practice on Friday, Rondale Moore has been listed as a game-time decision by head coach Kliff Kingbury. We'll see if he can get on the field, but his return to practice definitely helped the idea that he will.

This is new, or it is, because Rondale Moore missed time this year, but he was added to Thursday’s injury report as a limited participant. It’s nothing to be concerned about yet, but let’s see what his practice status is on Friday.

Richie James, NYG - Ankle

After not practicing on Wednesday, Richie James got in limited work and head coach Brian Daboll said he’ll be “fine” this week. We should expect James to be one of Daniel Jones’ top targets in Week 5.

Kenny Golladay, NYG - Knee

Kenny Golladay is not traveling with the team to London for the Giants' Week 5 match-up against the Packers. A trip on the IL is still possible as the Giants have not ruled that out.

NFL Tight End Injury Report

Kyle Pitts, ATL - Hamstring

UPDATE - 10/7 @ 11 am EST - Sheesh. Pitts was not seen at the open portion of Friday's practice to the media. This definitely puts his status in a really bad place heading into the weekend. There have been few players in fantasy football talked about more than Kyle Pitts and it’s been 99% about his production on the field. Injuries hadn’t been a part of the discussion until he missed practice on Wednesday and then did it again on Thursday. He’s in serious jeopardy of missing the Falcons Week 5 contest if he doesn’t practice on Friday.

Darren Waller, LV - Shoulder

It was a big day for Raiders pass catchers as not only did Hunter Renfrow shed his red non-contact jersey, but so did Darren Waller. That’s a great sign moving into the weekend for his status.

T.J. Hockenson, DET - Hip

It’s been a wild week for T.J. Hockenson as he had an absolute MONSTER Week 4 followed up by a missed practice on Wednesday. He returned to practice on Thursday, however, and we saw what he’s capable of with Amon-Ra St. Brown and D’Andre Swift out last week.

Gerald Everett, LAC - Hamstring

Usually, when someone pops up on the injury report, it’s worth noting what kind of injury it is and what their practice limitations were. Although he was still able to practice, albeit, in a limited fashion, it’s a hamstring injury. Not the best mid-week injury. Let’s monitor his participation for Friday’s practice.

Dawson Knox, BUF - Foot, Hamstring

UPDATE - 10/7 @ 11 am EST - Unfortunately for Knox, he has been ruled out for Week 5 as he could not get over both nagging injuries he's been battling. Definitely not a great sign that Dawson Knox is trying to get back on the field through two injuries. He hasn’t practiced this week and we’ll need some better news on Friday if we want to see him this week.

Jonnu Smith, NE - Ankle

UPDATE - 10/7 @ 9 pm EST - Although Smith was able to practice this week, albeit in a limited fashion, the Patriots are still listing him as doubtful, which puts a serious damper on his status coming into this game.

The Patriots could be getting back a few key members to their offense this week as it wasn’t only Mac Jones returning to practice this week, but Jonnu Smith returning on Thursday as well. It was announced Smith would be week-to-week with his ankle sprain, but there’s a chance he plays in Week 5 with his return to practice already.
