2025 Fantasy Football Week 14 IDP Report: Risers, Waiver Wire & Matchups
Week 13 started off with some IDP thunder as Green Bay harassed Jared Goff throughout the game. The Cincinnati Bengals versus Baltimore Ravens game produced 6 turnovers and 4 sacks. There were multiple defensive touchdowns, too. It was old school football, and it was great to witness. However, it is already week 14, and Fantasy Alarm is focused on helping IDP fantasy football managers get into the playoffs.
Although week 15 is the beginning of the playoffs for most fantasy football leagues, several teams are in a win-and-in or lose-and-out scenario this week. Essentially, a playoff game, and others are in large leagues whose playoffs begin this week, too. Before we break down the best IDPs for week 14, let’s review our picks from last week.
- Darius Alexander, Defensive Line, New York Giants: 2 assisted tackles, 2 solo tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 2 QB hits, 2.0 sacks
- Mike Green, Defensive Line/Linebacker, Baltimore Ravens: 3 assisted tackles, 2 solo tackles, 2 QB hits.
- Andrew Wingard, Defensive Back, Jacksonville Jaguars: 2 passes defended, 2 assisted tackles, 1 solo tackle.
Weekly Grade: B. Darius Alexander kept this grade from being worse. 2 sacks delivered for fantasy football, with 23.50 points, is a monster performance. Wingard was saved by 2 passes defended, 1 away from a big bonus. Mike Green delivered 9 points with 5 tackles and 2 QB hits. It could have been better, but it could have been much worse than two players hitting above their floor and one near the top of the ceiling.
The following teams are on bye: Carolina Panthers, New England Patriots, New York Giants, San Francisco 49ers. Get players from those teams out of your lineups.
Fantasy Football IDP Risers Week 14
Clelin Ferrell is a defensive lineman for the San Francisco 49ers, and he is coming off an impressive week. Against the Cleveland Browns, he logged 6 solo tackles, 3 assisted tackles, 2.0 sacks, 2 tackles for loss, and 2 QB Hits. He has only played five games this season and is available in most leagues. The 49ers are on bye, and Ferrell is a great stash for free.
His playoff schedule is the Tennessee Titans, at the Indianapolis Colts, and the Chicago Bears. A week 15 matchup against one of the most sacked quarterbacks in the league is a perfect way to start the fantasy football playoffs. Keep an eye on this IDP riser, and stash him for a playoff run.
Divine Deablo is a linebacker for the Atlanta Falcons. Deablo is in a similar situation to Ferrell. Both were injured and put up good fantasy football points in their return. Deablo has played two games since returning from injury, and “hit the ground running” for Atlanta. 145 defensive snaps in the last two games should tell you all you need to know about his volume. He has rewarded the Falcons with 8 combined tackles in each game, 13 of which were solo, and 3 were tackles for loss. Deablo has sneaky good value and is a waiver wire add as much or more than he is a riser. Pick him up if needed
Christian Benford is a defensive back for the Buffalo Bills. Buffalo is up against the wall, as the New England Patriots appear to have complete control of the AFC East. That means excellent play will be needed from their defense, just like it was against the Pittsburgh Steelers last week. Benford was part of that with big plays.
A touchdown, an interception, a fumble recovery, a pass defended, 2 combined tackles, and a tackle for loss. His tackle volume is low, but big plays are what separate great teams in IDP fantasy football playoffs. Keep an eye on this riser with Buffalo needing the best from everyone.
Fantasy Football Week 14 IDP Waiver Wire Targets
Chop Robinson, Defensive Lineman/Linebacker, Miami Dolphins
Chop Robinson has not lived up to his IDP expectations. He was a favorite coming out of Penn State, but hasn’t delivered on his potential. Last week might be a sign of that changing. He earned 5 combined tackles, 3 QB hits, 1.5 sacks, and 1 tackle for loss against the New Orleans Saints. His next four weeks are solid gold for a pass rusher, too.
The New York Jets, Pittsburgh Steelers, Cincinnati Bengals, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers all have quarterbacks who have been injured due to too many sacks. Scoop him up, as he could lead several fantasy football managers to the promised land.
Tuli Tuipulotu, Defensive Lineman/Linebacker, Los Angeles Chargers
Tuli Tuipulotu was mentioned in this column about ten weeks ago, and he’s back on it again. He is available in two different 16-team IDP leagues that are deep with IDP junkies. So the assumption is he’s available in other IDP leagues as well.
The reason being, is that the Chargers are coming off a bye, and Tuipulotu only recorded two tackles the week before their bye. That caused some to drop him, and he should be rostered in every IDP fantasy football league for the playoffs. 4 or fewer points is not ideal, but that does not deter us. Take a look for dropped gold in the waiver wire.
Malachi Moore, Defensive Back, New York Jets.
Malachi Moore is making his first appearance this season, and for good reason, too. The rookie has been a standout in the secondary and one of the more reliable New York Jets for fantasy football. He has played over 62 snaps in the Jets' last four games, and he was hand-picked by new Head Coach Aaron Glenn. Glenn was a defensive back for the Jets. Moore is expected to fill the void left by the trade of Sauce Gardner. Pick Moore up and plug him in starting IDP fantasy football rosters.
NFL Week 14 IDP Matchups To Capitalize On
Dallas Cowboys vs Detroit Lions Thursday 8:15 PM ET
- Jadeveon Clowney Defensive Line/Linebacker, Dallas Cowboys
Jadeveon Clowney is listed as questionable this week, but he is likely resting due to the Dallas Cowboys playing on Thursday. Granted, both of these teams played on Thursday, so it is a bit like a normal week, but not exactly. Clowney is coming off a two-sack performance on Thanksgiving, and the revamped Dallas Cowboys defensive line is one of the most underrated in the NFL.
The Detroit Lions are hurting at the offensive line, and they know it. They attempted to pull their former first-round pick, Frank Ragnow, out of retirement, but he failed with an “unknown to him” grade 3 hamstring tear. A grade 3 tear is considered a medical emergency, and it looks like he was willing to do anything to avoid going to Thanksgiving with the in-laws. Well played, Ragnow, well played. Clowney should earn another sack with so much attention required for Dallas’ dynamic defensive tackle duo. Play Clowney on Thursday night and expect a sack.
Los Angeles Rams vs Arizona Cardinals Sunday 4:30 PM ET
- Nathan (Nate) Landman, Linebacker, Los Angeles Rams
Nathan Landman has played really well for the “no-name defense”, the 2025 Los Angeles Rams. Los Angeles has a great defense at all three levels, and Landman benefits from it. He has 106 combined tackles this season, but is discussed very little in the IDP realm. Fantasy football teams that have him have likely been bouncing back and forth with him in and out of the lineup. He’s a must-play this week.
The Rams play the Arizona Cardinals, who like to run several plays with Brissett at the helm. Trey McBride is one of the best tight ends in the NFL and could see double-digit targets. Landman will be covering him for several of those targets and should have double-digit tackles. Play Landman with confidence in week 14. He has a high floor and should reach closer to his ceiling against a divisional foe.
Houston Texans vs Kansas City Chiefs Sunday 8:20 PM ET
- Kamari Lassiter, Defensive Back, Houston Texans
Andrew Cooper and I discussed, for two consecutive weeks, how great the Texans' secondary is. My pre-season #1 ranked D/ST was the Texans, and they have lived up to the billing. Defensive back Kamari Lassiter is having an excellent fantasy football season. The second-year former Georgia Bulldog has matched his total of passes defended, ten, from last season. He is one shy of matching his interception total from last year (3), and has surpassed his tackle total from last season. He has 66 combined tackles this season, 7 of which have been for a loss.
This week, he plays the pass-happy Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead. Patrick Mahomes is at the helm, and the Chiefs are outside the playoff picture, looking in. The loser is likely eliminated from playoff contention. Look for Mahomes to pass often with their season on the line. The Chiefs have great receiving threats, and Lassiter is in for a busy night. A good thing for IDP fantasy football. Pick him up and expect 6+ tackles, a pass defended, and possibly an interception in what should be a thrilling football game.
