In the constantly changing landscape of fantasy football draft strategy, late-round quarterback targets are a difference-maker in constructing a championship roster. Concentrating on fantasy football sleepers at quarterback enables managers to get the most bang for their buck while devoting early selections to high-upside skill players. By gleaning information from fantasy football mock drafts and scrutinizing fantasy football projections, you can find gems that exceed their fantasy football ADP. This installment of the Fantasy Alarm Fantasy Football Draft Guide pinpoints the best late-round fantasy football picks at quarterback, featuring players who present tremendous fantasy football values and the upside to provide starter-quality production at a fraction of the cost.

Late Round Fantasy QB Sleepers

Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys

Prescott may be my favorite QB to draft this season if I find myself waiting on a quarterback. The last three seasons which Prescott was able to play a “healthy” season he finished QB3 (2023), QB7 (2021), QB2 (2019). Yes, I realize that there are quite a few gaps where Prescott has not been healthy but the Cowboys went out and traded for George Pickens this offseason to join a passing attack that already includes Ceedee Lamb. The Cowboys also just gave a contract extension to Jake Ferguson, the safety net for Dak.

The Cowboys running game has a ton of questions with Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders batting for the starting job which makes me think that the Cowboys will focus on throwing the football downfield and we've already seen the training camp highlights of Prescott and Pickens making plays.

Currently being drafted as the QB13 off the board, there is some big time upside here with this pick.

Caleb Williams, Chicago Bears

Miss out on Dak Prescott?  No worries, the QB going right next to him in both ranking and ADP is Caleb Williams. The number one overall pick last season had an up and down rookie year but there is plenty of reasons to be excited for his sophomore campaign and one of those reasons has to do with his new head coach with the Bears snagging Lions offensive guru Ben Johnson.

We saw what Ben Johnson was able to do with an offense that had Jared Goff,  Amon-Ra St.Brown, Jameson Williams, Sam LaPorta and the running back tandem of Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery in Detroit and now he comes to Chicago and gets to implement that system with a team that has DJ Moore, Rome Odunze, Luther Burden, Colston Loveland, Cole Kmet and D'Andre Swift.

Reason number two to be interested in Caleb Williams is the list of offensive weapons listed above.

The system and skill position players are all put in place for Williams to succeed and now it is just on him to perform and I'm willing to bank on the talent getting coached up by an innovative offensive mind in Ben Johnson to get the most out of the player this season.

Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers

I took a lot of Jordan Love last year and his season was a bit derailed with injuries to himself and his receiving group. The difference this year to last year is that we were taking Love among the top 12 QB's and now he's coming off the board around QB15-to-QB17 depending on your draft.

The Packers used a first round pick on Matthew Golden and still have Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs and we expect Tucker Kraft to be more involved offensively this season.

If you trust the bounce back then Love is someone with the potential to be a Top 12 QB in fantasy this season.

J.J. McCarthy, Minnesota Vikings

If you've tuned into the Fantasy Alarm Show on Sirius XM or the Alarm Fantasy Football Show at all this offseason you've heard me talk about how much I'm buying into J.J. McCarthy here. We've seen lesser QB's in a Kevin O'Connell system find success which includes last year where Sam Darnold was an MVP vote getter.

A lot of analysts are talking about McCarthy as if he is a true NFL rookie. While yes, this will be his first season playing football games, he's no rookie,  he lived the NFL life last year. He knows the playbook, he practiced, he rehabbed, he sat in on team meetings. More importantly he learned the position at the NFL level.

The Vikings offense has a ton of talent at the receiver position with Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison and T.J. Hockenson at his disposal and a solid running game as well with Aaron Jones and newly signed Jordan Mason to help move the chains.

Coming off the board as QB19 right now, McCarthy is going anywhere between Round 10 and Round 12 depending on your league size and I could see  scenarios where he pops as a top 12 QB this year.

Trevor Lawrence,  Jacksonville Jaguars

Listen, it's not great that Lawrence is learning yet another new offensive system under yet another new head coach but at least Liam Cohen is someone that we trust to be innovative on offense and we saw what he was able to do with Baker Mayfield the last few seasons in Tampa Bay.

Lawrence has all of the attritibutes you want in an NFL QB and in fantasy fooball for that matter as well. He has arm strength, he has sneaky mobility and he has the offensive weapons around him with Brian Thomas and Travis Hunter at wide receiver and a strong running game.

Lawrence is coming off the board as QB22, a great value if it all finally clicks in Jacksonville this season.
