There is so much information out there for fantasy football, and we’re almost swimming in it by the end of August and the beginning of September. But when we get the schedule in May, one of the most important things is checking out the fantasy football playoff matchups.

Besides the actual schedule of the whole season, astute fantasy managers will check the schedule from Week 15 to Week 17 to see what opponents NFL teams will have in the fantasy football playoff weeks. Our fantasy football playoff schedule rankings will help you sort through the best three-week playoff matchups to see what teams you can trust and what teams you should have some pause in starting their players.

Why Playoff Schedules Matter

Fantasy football playoff matchups and scheduling absolutely matter, and so does drafting your fantasy team with some of these matchups in mind. Now, you’re never benching your stud players, no matter who they’re playing, as that’s just playing it way too cute. But these matchups could help swing a decision that benefits you greatly.

Of course, teams that we think are bad in July could be excellent in December, and the same goes for the good teams that end up being bad over the course of a season. Fantasy football playoff schedule rankings will at least sort out with things we do know in the interim, and then things will evolve during the season. But to ignore the fantasy football strength of schedule for the three games of the fantasy playoffs will be foolish if you don’t at least account for it.

Quarterbacks With Favorable Playoff Schedules

Kyler Murray, Minnesota Vikings

Week 15 vs. DET // Week 16 vs. WAS // Week 17 @ NYJ

In full seasons (14+ games), Kyler Murray has never finished below QB12 in a season. His draft day price of QB17 is very reasonable, and Murray gets to throw the ball to Planet Earth’s best wide receiver, Justin Jefferson. The Vikings’ fantasy football playoff matchups are incredibly advantageous, with the Lions, Commanders, and Jets (weather permitting) providing little resistance. Can Murray take advantage of those porous passing defenses? Among the fantasy football playoff schedule rankings for quarterbacks, Murray stands pretty high among signal-callers.

Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams

Week 15 vs. DAL // Week 16 @ SEA // Week 17 @ TB

Stafford is a low-end starter but is one tied to an elite offense. Helping matters even further is Stafford’s fantasy football strength of schedule, which has one tough matchup in the middle in Week 16, but that’s sandwiched between two porous passing defenses in the Cowboys in Week 15 and the Buccaneers in Week 17.

With just 13.2 fantasy points in Week 11 against the Seahawks in their first divisional matchup, Week 16’s epic matchup was the 38-37 overtime win for the Seahawks, where Stafford threw for 457 yards and three touchdowns. So, on paper, the Seattle matchup is tough, and the fantasy football playoff schedule rankings clearly reflect that, but anything can happen, and a game can get out of hand at any time, especially a division game.

Running Backs With Favorable Playoff Schedules

Jacksonville Jaguars

Week 15 @ HOU // Week 16 @ DAL // Week 17 vs. WAS

Okay, so the Houston Texans aren’t a GREAT matchup. Or even a good one. In fact, it’s pretty bad. BUT, if you can get past that Houston matchup in Week 15, two NFL East cupcakes are waiting for you in the Cowboys and Commanders. Both of those teams were in the bottom six in fantasy points allowed to running backs.

Arizona Cardinals

Week 15 vs. NYJ // Week 16 @ NO // Week 17 vs. LV

Whoever ends up as the Arizona Cardinals' lead running back will have a cakewalk schedule against teams that were pretty poor at stopping the run. Jeremiyah Love would be the ultimate prize here as an uber-talented rookie running back coming on at the end of the season to feast on the Jets, who gave up the most fantasy points to opposing running backs, and the Saints and Raiders, who were just average last season in allowing fantasy points to backs.

Wide Receivers With Favorable Playoff Schedules

Tennessee Titans

Week 15 vs. IND // Week 16 @ LV // Week 17 vs. PIT

We’re really hoping that new head coach Robert Saleh and offensive coordinator Brian Daboll can transform these wide receivers in Tennessee into a functional unit, because they’ve got some opponents they can pass on in 2026, especially with these fantasy football playoff matchups.

The Titans get two bottom-seven teams from last season in fantasy points allowed to wideouts, plus the Raiders, who are below average and may be that or worse yet again in 2026. If all goes well, rookie receiver Carnell Tate should be fully established by the end of the season to take advantage of those matchups, and Wan’Dale Robinson should be a trusted WR2 for quarterback Cam Ward.

Cleveland Browns

Week 15 @ NYG // Week 16 @ BAL // Week 17 vs. IND

The Cleveland Browns drafted KC Concepcion in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, and then followed that selection up with Washington’s Denzel Boston in Round 2. That should tell you what the team thinks of their wide receivers. Could it spell doom for Jerry Jeudy? We’re hoping some actual improvement happens on the offensive side of the ball, because if so, the Browns have beautiful fantasy football playoff matchups to take advantage of.

All three of the Giants, Ravens, and Colts sat in the bottom-10 of teams that gave up the most fantasy points to wide receivers last season, so while the Browns themselves are a bit questionable, Concepcion and Boston lifting the talent level of this offense can pay immediate dividends for fantasy managers.

Tight Ends With Favorable Playoff Schedules

Kyle Pitts, Atlanta Falcons

Week 15 @ WAS // Week 16 vs. TB // Week 17 vs. NO

The Atlanta Falcons may have a question at their quarterback position about whether it’s going to be Michael Penix or Tua Tagovailoa under center when the fantasy football playoff matchups begin, but one thing that’s for sure is that Kyle Pitts will be able to devour some bad defenses against the tight end position.

Starting with the second-worst team a season ago in the Commanders and then the Buccaneers, who were in the bottom seven last season. The Saints have fallen off against the TE in recent seasons as Demario Davis, who has locked down tight ends, has aged. For an athletic freak like Pitts, he should be able to win that one-on-one matchup against the 37-year-old linebacker if given the opportunity in that matchup.

Tyler Warren, Indianapolis Colts

Week 15 @ TEN // Week 16 vs. CIN // Week 17 @ CLE

With Michael Pittman now in Indianapolis and Alec Pierce getting paid, Tyler Warren is a locked-in top-two target on the Colts. We certainly hope Warren’s second-year breakout materializes this season, because his fantasy football playoff matchups against the Titans, Bengals, and Browns are extremely soft. Tennessee was bottom-12 in the league last season, the Bengals were by far the worst team in the league at covering tight ends, and the Browns are set to regress a bit following the departure of Myles Garrett.

Tough Playoff Schedules to Avoid

San Francisco 49ers

Week 15 @ LAC // Week 16 @ KC // Week 17 vs. PHI

The 49ers have to start in Week 15 with a matchup against a tough Chargers’ defense at SoFi Stadium, but then travel to Arrowhead to face the Chiefs. The Chiefs’ defense may have lost some pieces, but traveling to Arrowhead in December is not very fun, no matter how good the Chiefs are. Finally, San Francisco gets to come back home to meet the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 17. A veritable gauntlet of potential contenders awaits Brock Purdy, Christian McCaffrey, Mike Evans, George Kittle, and company.

Philadelphia Eagles

Week 15 vs. SEA // Week 16 vs. HOU // Week 17 @ SF

The Eagles draw two back-to-back games where they’ll have to grind out any offense they can muster. They’ll not only face the Seattle Seahawks in Week 15, but the Houston Texans in Week 16. At least both games at home? After those games, they’ll go cross-country to San Francisco to face the 49ers at Levi’s Stadium. The Eagles have a ton of great skill-position players, but the fantasy football playoff schedule rankings are not in their favor in 2026.

Miami Dolphins

Week 15 @ GB // Week 16 vs. LAC // Week 17 vs. BUF

The Miami Dolphins may not be a great team, and with that, there are only a couple of fantasy players that we can pinpoint as viable. Certainly, De’Von Achane and Malik Willis, but perhaps a Jalen Tolbert or Greg Dulcich? No matter who steps up for the 2026 Dolphins, the schedule for the playoff weeks is not great. Week 15 starts with the team they call “Green Bay South” going back up north to Lambeau Field and playing the Packers. Then, a date with two likely playoff teams, the Chargers and Bills, at home, caps off a brutal playoff stretch.

Drafting With Playoff Schedules in Mind

Drafting with fantasy football strength of schedule in mind should only be done as a tiebreaker to help separate closely ranked or similar players. Using fantasy football playoff schedule rankings should help make your decision a little bit easier, with an easy fantasy football strength of schedule vs. a difficult one.

Final 2026 Fantasy Football Playoff Schedule Rankings

We’ve developed a comprehensive fantasy football playoff schedule rankings for all 32 teams based on combined factors and by all positions, so fantasy football strength of schedule matchups against quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers, tight ends are weighed much more heavily, and kickers and defenses are weighed significantly less.

The top ranking (1) represents the easiest playoff schedule, while the (32) represents the most difficult fantasy football strength of schedule.
