Derrick Rose, PG vs. CLE

Kemba Walker has been ruled out for rest purposes for Sunday’s contest and that means it’s Derrick Rose time. Rose was great for the Knicks last time out, playing 30 minutes while scoring 23 actual and 44 DKP. Without Walker this year, Rose has a 24% USG rate and has averaged over one FP/min. He’s extremely cheap across the industry and despite how much ownership he’ll garner here, he’s chalk worth eating.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, SG/SF vs. MIL

Now this is by no stretch the easiest match-up on the board, but has anyone noticed how well KCP has played in Washington this year? Who would’ve thought leaving a team that the ball is dominated by two players would contribute to such a thing. Anyways, it’s not just the scoring that has been impressive, but it’s been a mixture of everything. He’s grabbed four or more rebounds in four of five games and has double-digit steals in three of four as well. He can still stroke it from three too, making 40% of his three-point attempts.

DraftKings

Derrick Favors, C vs. SAS ($3,600)

What do we make of Favors playing 28 minutes last time out? I have zero idea, but what’s stopping OKC from deploying him for that long again here? Twice Favors has been deployed for 26+ minutes in his last four games and both times he’s scored double-digit actual points, at least 22 DKP and last game he notched a double-double. He’s a talented offensive player that has bad knees and hasn’t been able to play deep into games. It’s risky, sure, but being this cheap against a Jakob Poeltl-less front court? I’m in.

Davion Mitchell, PG vs. IND ($4,400)

There was a reason why the Kings spent a lottery pick on another guard. Mitchell is the truth. He’s been singled out as one of the best defenders from this draft class, but he’s been more impressive offensively. He’s poured in 12 or more points in three straight games and has averaged over four assists per game over that same span. He’s playing 25+ minutes a night, this game has the largest over/under on the board and he’s still being given to us for free.

FanDuel

Jordan Clarkson, PG/SG vs. ORL ($5,300)

With Mike Conley ruled out, we should get extended run out of Clarkson here. We saw two games ago, with Donovan Mitchell out, Clarkson was extended to 31 minutes and poured in 30 actual points. Now, Conley is a much lower usage player than Mitchell, but the point remains when one of these guys are out, Clarkson’s number is called upon. With Conley off the floor this year, Clarkson has a 31.7% USG rate and is facing the 27th ranked team in terms of DRtg this year, in the Orlando Magic.

Yahoo! Fantasy

Gary Payton II, PG vs. HOU ($11)

This is definitely a spot I’m interested in. The Warriors realize what they have in Payton and he’s a nasty defender that’s developing offensively too. He  hasn’t played more than 17 minutes in either of the last two games yet has given us 30 or more Yahoo! Points. Payton has four steals in the last two games, one block as well, and has scored 17 and 14 actual points. The Warriors are 12.5 point favorites at home against the Rockets playing the second leg of a back-to-back. If and when this game turns into a route, Payton should see plenty of time and could once again, put up a big number at a low cost.
