Top Plays
Gabe Vincent OVER 13.5 points
The Heat have had a LOT of pieces in and out of the lineup this season and that isn’t changing on Thursday. Kyle Lowry has been ruled out while Jimmy Butler, Caleb Martin, Max Strus, and P.J. Tucker are all listed as questionable.
Vincent has played 32 and 33 minutes in each of the last two games and in those two games – both without Kyle Lowry – he has scored 20 and 21 actual points. In fact, four of the last five games that Lowry has missed and Vincent has topped 30 minutes, he’s hit the over. He’s hit the over in four straight under those circumstances.
Although Brooklyn is getting Kevin Durant back tonight and that will be a big help, they’re 29th in DRtg as a team since February 1st. Vincent has a plus match-up against whoever is guarding him and this number should easily be hit considering his recent play.
Desmond Bane UNDER 17.5 points
This is a tough, tough game for offense despite the fact that it features a 223.5 over/under. Since February 1st, Boston is the top rated defense and Memphis is eighth. Over the course of the entire season, Boston is second and Memphis is once again eighth. It’s not the best thing in the world to lose Jaylen Brown, one of your best perimeter defenders, but Derrick White’s 106 DRtg since joining the Celtics is his best mark of his career. Same with his defensive box +/-.
All of that to say I don’t love Desmond Bane tonight. Amongst all of those compliments of Boston’s defense, Bane hasn’t been great lately. He’s shot less than 33% from the field in all three games since the break and because of that fact, his playing time has dipped below 30 minutes in each. He’s gone under this number in three straight games and has only hit the only three times over his last 10 contests.
