The Golden State Warriors take the court tonight for the NBA DFS Showdown Slate against the San Antonio Spurs in a game that has the home team favored by eight points. We do have to keep an eye on the Warriors since they also played last night, but at this point in the season, there is enough data to know what to expect from Stephen Curry, Andrew Wiggins, Kevon Looney, and company against a Spurs team lead by Keldon Johnson and Devin Vassell. Let us take a look at what to consider while building those NBA DFS Showdown Slate lineups.

NBA DFS Showdown Slate Picks

MVP/Captain

Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors

The cost is not insignificant here, and that is also magnified on slate without any other superstars. At the same time, there are blowout risks to consider, but before the game gets to that point, I can see Curry already having made a real impact. The matchup is a good one for Curry and entering action on Sunday, the guard had yet to finish with less than 56.5 DK points so far in November. Curry is truly in the zone these days as he is proving to be fully capable of carrying the load for Golden State.

Devin Vassell, San Antonio Spurs

The Spurs will be shooting a ton tonight to try and keep pace with the Warriors, and that is where Vassell comes into play. Vassell should finish with around 20 shots from the field once again as he looks to score 22 points for the third straight game. The key here is to see how efficient, and busy, Vassell can be from behind the three-point line as he is shooting at a 43.5% clip (30 of 69) through nine games.

Keldon Johnson, San Antonio Spurs

Someone needs to score for the Spurs, and most nights this season, that has been Johnson. There is 30-point upside depending on the game flow, and Johnson is averaging 23.6 points per game so far on the season. Johnson’s upside is limited by the fact he is only averaging 5.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. With that being said, Johnson is still one of the better options on the slate.

Utility

Jakob Poeltl, San Antonio Spurs

Despite the fact that is not averaging one, and only has one in his last six games, Poeltl is a legitimate candidate for a double-double on a nightly basis. The matchup against Golden State is a good one for the center, and at 12.6 points and 9.8 rebounds per game, there is a solid floor to work with as well.

Jordan Poole, Golden State Warriors

Klay Thompson has been having some shooting issues this season, and with back-to-back games, I would expect Poole to be more involved offensively tonight. We know that Poole has no issues putting the ball in the hoop as he is averaging 15.4 points per game on the season and has consecutive games with 18 points. The thought process here is that he takes on a larger role tonight.

Tre Jones, San Antonio Spurs

Jones will try his best to keep up with Curry tonight, but, and nothing against the San Antonio point guards, it is not a truly fair fight. While he did pick up 20 points a few games ago, Jones is not necessarily known for his offense and is averaging just 12.3 points per game to go along with 6.6 assists. In the last three games, Jones has taken his game to the next level averaging just under 10 assists per game and it should not come as a surprise as he often has the ball in his hands.

Andrew Wiggins, Golden State Warriors

Wiggins has settled in to be the perfect second option for Curry, and entering action on Sunday, the forward was averaging 18.4 points and 6.1 rebounds per game this season. With that being said, there are going to some nights where Wiggins is not as involved offensively. While the role and overall body of work is pretty solid, Wiggins sometimes is more valuable to the Warriors than DFS players and at his cost, he might not fit in every lineup build, and that is alright.

Dart Throw

Josh Richardson, San Antonio Spurs

Richardson plays about 20 to 25 minutes per night and puts up a good number of shots, but the question that truly needs to be answered is what will he do with those shots? The swingman can score with ease at times, but then at other times, there is simply nothing much to see.

Anthony Lamb, Golden State Warriors

Lamb is getting increased playing time for his defense, but that does not mean we cannot enjoy any DFS production we get from him. The forward picked up 10 points and four rebounds in 24 minutes of action on Friday and then followed that up with just five points in 13 minutes on Sunday so there is some variability still in play. At the price though, Lamb is certainly worth some attention though.

Doug McDermott, San Antonio Spurs

This might not be glamorous, but the veteran is averaging 10 points per game in 21 minutes of action while grabbing a few rebounds. The forward is secure in his role, and there is some level of safety in getting about 15 DK points from the back end of your roster even if we are not dealing with a ton of upside.
