MVP/CPT

Joel Embiid, PHI

Nobody on this slate has as much upside and a higher floor than Joel Embiid does. He’s put up 56+ DKP in four straight games and has topped 70 DKP twice in seven games. He’s on the injury report for his third straight game but has played through his back ailment twice already. If he suits up, he’s the clear-cut number one option in this game. The ONLY downside to using him in the captain's chair is if he’s handicapping you from spending up elsewhere.

Pascal Siakam, TOR

He didn’t have a great game by any stretch in his team's overtime loss last time out, but Pascal Siakam had four 50-point FP games prior to that. Siakam is now playing this game without Fred VanVleet and OG Anunoby. Siakam has a 29% USG rate and averages 1.18 FP/min with both of those are out.

Scottie Barnes, TOR

It’s wild to think people said Toronto reached Scottie Barnes in this year's draft. Wild. He had a monster performance against the Lakers last time out, pouring in 64 DKP thanks to a 31-point double-double. He’s been running the point at times when Fred VanVleet has been out, and Barnes has 5+ assists in three of his last four games. He’s expected to run point here with FVV out and that’s the ideal situation.

James Harden, PHI

The bearded one isn’t my primary captain option unless Joel Embiid is ruled out, but he is a solid one at that. Like I said when talking about Embiid, James Harden has an extremely high floor. He doesn’t have the ceiling Embiid has right now, but we know he’s a triple-double threat at any moment.

UTIL

Gary Trent Jr., TOR

We know one thing about Gary Trent Jr. is that he is a VERY high usage player. He has never seen a shot he doesn’t like and with Anunoby, VanVleet, and Flynn off the floor this year, Trent has a 25.3% USG rate. Trent has 50 FP upside and a below 20 FP floor. He’s very much a GPP option.

Tyrese Maxey, PHI

It’s VERY hard to like anyone else very much when James Harden and Joel Embiid are on the floor together, but Tyrese Maxey is a decent option. He put up 28+ DKP in two of his last three games and scored 19+ actual points in those two. He’s just inconsistent, which should be expected because Embiid and Harden DOMINATE the ball.

Precious Achiuwa, TOR

The Raptors have given Precious Achiuwa a heavy workload lately and he’s responded well. He scored 18 actual points in the 36 minutes he played against the Lakers and has scored in double-figures in six straight and seven of his last eight overall. He’s played 27+ minutes in three straight games and 30+ in two of three.

Georges Niang, PHI

The 76ers have given Georges Niang a heavier workload lately and he’s looked decent when on the floor. He’s topped 23 minutes in four of his last five games and has put up 20+ DKP in three of his last five games. Niang can stretch the floor and play both forward spots and works as a value option on this showdown slate.

Danny Green, PHI

You love to see the 30 minutes. You hate to see the results. If Danny Green can consistently play that much, and make shots, he could really be an ace-in-the-hole on this showdown slate.
