*Please note that players not listed below are not necessarily a complete fade and any player listed can certainly be used as the MVP/Captain. These are merely suggestions for players to use when setting Showdown lineups.

MVP/CPT

Pascal Siakam, PF/C (TOR) – With VanVleet limited, at best, Siakam continues to shine for Toronto as he comes off his third straight game of at least 50 DK points. This time it was a 27 point, 11 rebound, five assist performances against the Lakers on Monday with Siakam continuing to play his best basketball of the season. Siakam is the best player on the slate, with also the biggest upside and the highest floor, I was actually expecting him to be a little more expensive tonight.

Scottie Barnes, SF/PF (TOR) – Even if VanVleet does play tonight, it’s hard to really trust him tonight, so that means a lot will fall on Barnes. The rookie has proven to be up to the task, and that translated to 21 points, nine rebounds, and five assists on Monday. Barnes continues to play about 40 minutes a night, and with a 49% field goal percentage on the season, he has also established a nice floor with eight rebounds and 4.5 assists per game in his last six.

Reggie Jackson, PG (LAC) – If anyone is going to score and take 15 to 20 shots tonight for the Clippers, it’s going to be Jackson. The problem with that, is that sometimes he only makes six of those 16 shots like he did in last game against Detroit. That did translate into 15 points, but Jackson came through with nine assists and eight rebounds so from a DFS perspective, it was still a solid night. After the night off on Monday for rest, Jackson should really be ready to go tonight, but if only we knew whether he was going to score five points or 31? Regardless, the rebounds and assists do give him a solid floor and he does have upside.

Util

Ivica Zubac, C (LAC) – We have been talking about Zubac expanding his role and taking the next steps offensively, but this is taking it to another level. On Monday, Zubac scored 24 points for the second time in three games and he also grabbed double-digit rebounds (14) for the third straight game. In the four games prior, Zubac had nine rebounds each so we can feel comfortable in what we are seeing from him these days.

Fred VanVleet, PG/SG (TOR) – If VanVleet takes the court, we can’t ignore him completely, but we have to know the risks. It’s a good matchup against the Clippers, and despite the lingering knee injury, VanVleet still played 40 minutes on Monday. The bad news though, is that he shot three of 14 from the field although on the good side of things, VanVleet seven rebounds and seven assists.

Marcus Morris, SF/PF (LAC) – Morris made 10 shots for the second time in three games Sunday on his way to a 31-point night. We don’t have to worry about the volume here, and Morris is averaging a solid 17.2 points and five rebounds per game over his last five as a dependable member of the Clippers’ rotation.

Gary Trent, SG/SF (TOR) – To put it simply, Trent needs to make his shots. We know he’s going to take around 15 to 20 of them tonight, but the efficiency isn’t always there. In his last two games, we saw the opposite ends of the spectrum for Trent as he scored eight and then 28 points in back-to-back games. With the majority of his production coming from what he does offensively, this is where our focus lies, as there also isn’t much of a floor if things don’t go right.

Terance Mann, PG/SF (LAC) – As much we might like to, we can’t chase the 18 points Mann scored on Monday, to go along with 10 rebounds, as both Morris and Jackson had the night off for rest purposes. It wasn’t all smooth sailing though as Mann shot just seven of 21 from the field. While he generally plays at least 20 to 30 minutes a night, Mann’s offensive workload is closer on most nights to around six to nine field goal attempts along with a few rebounds.

Dart Throws

Robert Covington, PF/C (LAC) – Covington will make his return tonight after missing five games while tending to a personal matter. The expectation here is that the forward will revert back to his standard workload of around 20 or so minutes and 20 to 30 fantasy points.

Precious Achiuwa, C (TOR) – Achiuwa continues to play a meaningful role for Toronto, and that translated to 10 points and 11 rebounds against the Lakers on Monday in 33 minutes. It was the fourth straight game of double-digit scoring for Achiuwa who continue to earn more playing time.
