MVP/CPT
Donovan Mitchell, PG/SG (UTA) – The blowout risk is real tonight, but the good news is that Mitchell will likely play a large role in the game getting to that point. Considering Rudy Gobert's borderline status and how one-sided this game projects to be, I would expect Utah to hold the center out. Mitchell has benefited from Gobert’s absence by being increasingly active on the boards – 6.7 rebounds per game over his last three – and his 10 rebounds on Wednesday helped to make up for a down offensive day (14 points on 5-for-14 shooting). With that aside, we know that Mitchell shoots a ton and he has the biggest upside on the slate, which we also get at a reasonable price.
Cole Anthony, PG (ORL) – With Suggs not looking to be 100%, even if he is in the lineup, I would expect Anthony to play a large role as he's generally more prolific than his teammate. This game could enter garbage-time territory pretty quickly, and it will be Anthony spurring those efforts. Anthony is averaging a well-balanced 17.8 points, 6.1 assists, and 5.9 rebounds per game this season. The upside is also there for him to hit the 30-point mark at any time.
Util
Wendell Carter Jr, PF/C (ORL) – Over the last five games, we are beginning to see a little more of what Carter has to offer on the offensive end as he's averaging 17.4 points per game. It hasn’t come at the expense of his rebounding, as Carter continues to pull down about 10 boards per game. Coming close to the 40 DK point mark is his new norm.
Hassan Whiteside, C (UTA) – This is following the thought process of Gobert being out tonight but, even under those circumstances, there is some risk involved here. It is a favorable matchup against Orlando, so that is a plus – but we just don’t know whether Whiteside will grab eight or 17 rebounds and score either three points or 15 on a nightly basis. What we do know for sure is that Whiteside isn’t going to block seven shots in a game, even if it sure is possible. Projecting around 30 fantasy points for Whiteside is a solid base – but also be aware that he could go for 45 or 50 without really blinking.
Bojan Bogdanovic, SF/PF (UTA) – Bogdanovic is a consistent secondary scorer for Utah and he is averaging a solid 19 points and seven rebounds per game over his last five. This is a sustainable level of performance for Bogdanovic and, in continuing with the common theme, it is also a favorable matchup.
Franz Wagner, SF (ORL) – The main concern here is efficiency for Wagner, as that is sometimes lacking. We can bank on double-digit field goal attempts, so the scoring potential will be there. But we just have to be prepared for him to score either eight or 22 points.
Jordan Clarkson, PG/SG (UTA) – The game script sets up perfectly for the one-dimensional Clarkson as we know he’ll be taking double-digit shots from the field. However, we can’t ignore the potential risk if Clarkson is cold.
Dart Throws
Terrence Ross, SG/SF (ORL) – While Ross has continued to get at least 20 minutes of playing time per night, his production has taken a hit as of late. We have also seen Ross have success this season, so it’s possible that he could see some extended run in the second half and provide some garbage-time stats.
Gary Harris, SG/SF (ORL) – If Suggs is out of the lineup, Harris stands to benefit the most and will likely be a chalk option. Even if Suggs does play, Harris will have a role off the bench and should rack up plenty of playing time and offensive production.
Trent Forrest, SG (UTA) – The injury to Joe Ingles has allowed Forrest to emerge into finding a steady role in Utah. Forrest is averaging a solid 10.3 points, 5.3 assists, and three rebounds per game over his last five. If this game gets out of hand, he should figure prominently in the second half.
