NBA Injury Report & Waiver Wire Ahead of Week 15 Games: Aaron Gordon, Giannis Antetokounmpo
There are several significant injuries heading into week 15. After two quiet weeks, there was an eruption of injuries, including an All-Star starter, impact guards, do-it-all forwards, and elite centers. There are also great additions mentioned in this week’s waiver wire, as several fantasy basketball teams lost starters due to injuries. Let’s get to the long list of injuries, and just as a warning, this will be painful for some fantasy basketball managers.

NBA Injury Report Week 15
Cam Thomas, Guard, Brooklyn Nets: Ankle
Thomas is dealing with an ankle injury and is expected to miss a couple of games. He was already on the bench and providing minimal fantasy basketball value.Â
Tre Jones, Guard, Chicago Bulls: Hamstring
Jones injured his hamstring on the 22nd and is expected to miss at least two weeks. However, it will likely be more; take a look at the waiver wire suggestions for replacements.
Aaron Gordon, Forward, Denver Nuggets: Hamstring
Gordon was playing well against the Milwaukee Bucks before re-aggravating his hamstring injury. This has been plaguing Gordon for almost one full year, but the Nuggets have rushed him back twice. Put him on the IR; who knows how long he will be sidelined this time.
Jimmy Butler, Forward, Golden State Warriors: Knee
Jimmy Butler reached back for a bad pass and landed awkwardly on his knee. So much so that it put him out for the remainder of the season, and possibly longer, with a torn ACL. Drop him in all non-dynasty fantasy basketball leagues.
Jonathan Kuminga, Forward, Golden State Warriors: Knee
Kuminga exited the Warriors' last game with a knee injury and did not return. He is expected to miss a couple of games, but could return this week.
Steven Adams, Center, Houston Rockets: Ankle
Adams experienced a grade-3 ankle sprain. It is not certain when he will be able to return, but mid-March is the earliest projected time. Look for the Rockets to be cautious with their veteran.
Ja Morant, Guard, Memphis Grizzlies: Elbow
Morant will be out for an extended period of time with an elbow sprain. Three weeks minimum is the projected timetable. How this impacts his trade value is yet to be seen.Â
Santi Aldama, Forward, Memphis Grizzlies: Knee
Aldama was out the previous week with a knee injury. As bad as the Grizzlies need him in the rotation, he could remain out this week. Keep an eye on his status.
Kel’el Ware, Center, Miami Heat: Hamstring
Ware has missed Miami's last three games and is set to miss more. He may not return until February. Monitor the situation for more information.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, Forward, Milwaukee Bucks: Calf
Antetokounmpo was injured in the game against the Denver Nuggets. He was unable to finish and is expected to be out until February 20th at the earliest. There is also the real possibility that he is shut down for the rest of the season as Milwaukee looks to trade him this offseason.
Alex Caruso, Guard, Oklahoma City Thunder: Groin
Caruso injured his groin in the game against the Cleveland Cavaliers on the nineteenth. He has missed the Thunder’s last two games and is set to miss at least one more. Monitor his situation going forward.Â
Jalen Williams, Forward, Oklahoma City Thunder: Hamstring
Williams injured his hamstring and is expected to be out until February 3rd at the earliest. Monitor his situation as he is someone who should be rostered in all fantasy basketball formats.

Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Week 15
Jordan Goodwin, Guard, Phoenix Suns: Rostered in 14% of Fleaflicker Leagues
Goodwin is a name that continues to flash in the waiver wire pool. He is a hit or miss guard but has the capability to put up decent fantasy points. With so many notable injuries and games being canceled, Goodwin could be a spot-start guard that is available in most fantasy basketball leagues.Â
Buddy Hield, SG/SF, Golden State Warriors: Rostered in 28% of Fleaflicker LeaguesÂ
The Golden State Warriors are going to need bench players to score in order to make up for the injury to Jimmy Butler. Hield is a great scorer from the perimeter and has an opportunity to be a consistent contributor for the Warriors. He’s available in 72% of fantasy basketball leagues. Go pick him up for a depth piece that can start.
Kevin Huerter, SG/SF, Chicago Bulls: Rostered in 22% of FleaFlicker Leagues
Huerter made the most important field goal of the Bulls' season in yesterday’s memorable game. He made the game-winning three-point field goal on the night Chicago placed Derrick Rose’s jersey in the rafters. Huerter earned the game ball signed by D-Rose. His threes can also help a fantasy basketball team, and his rebounds and assists have gone up with the injury to Tre Jones. Pick him up off the week 15 waiver wire.
Kyle Kuzma, Forward, Milwaukee Bucks: Rostered in 42% of Sleeper Leagues
Kuzma will be forced to shoulder the load for Milwaukee in the absence of Giannis Antetokounmpo. Doc Rivers is a great head coach, and should be able to position Kuzma in situations that are advantageous to him scoring. His points, rebounds, and assists should all go up in the absence of Antetokounmpo. Pick him up as a player who can impact a fantasy team’s season.
Jock Landale, Center, Memphis Grizzlies: Rostered in 18% of Sleeper Leagues
Landale has a great opportunity as one of two healthy centers for the Grizzlies. Truthfully, Jaren Jackson Jr. is more of a power forward, too. He has played 28 or more minutes in five of his last six matches and has 8 or more rebounds in those five games. He has 83 points in those six games and is a great center to have on any fantasy basketball roster.
