LeBron James Chalkboard NBA Pick: Higher 13.5 Rebounds + Assists
James is doing a little bit of everything for a 6-1 Philadelphia team, and the combo stats have been steady. He's cleared 13.5 rebounds plus assists in four of his five games.
Chicago is the perfect opponent. The Bulls allow the most rebounds per game in the league, play the fastest pace at 109.8 possessions per game, and rebound just 48.8% of available boards, according to ESPN's Hollinger team stats. With Joel Embiid questionable, James could also take on an even bigger share of the playmaking. The 11.5-point spread brings some blowout risk, but the pace should front-load his production. James at Higher 13.5 rebounds plus assists leads our Chalkboard NBA picks and is one of the best NBA picks today.
Ausar Thompson Chalkboard NBA Pick: Higher 3.5 Assists
Thompson's playmaking is the real deal. J.B. Bickerstaff said in the offseason that he wanted Thompson to be more of a creator, and he's averaging 5.0 assists through four games, clearing this line in three of them.
He faces Charlotte again after dishing eight assists against the Hornets on Wednesday. Detroit is a 4.5-point road favorite, and with Jalen Duren still out, the Pistons lean on their wings to create. Thompson at Higher 3.5 assists rounds out our Chalkboard NBA picks.
