It is Wednesday and we get a great slate of early day baseball! We have a 9-game slate kicking off nice and early at 12:35 PM EST on DraftKings, and an all-day slate available on FanDuel starting at the same time. Clayton Kershaw is the biggest name on the slate, taking on the Milwaukee Brewers. There are a few other aces joining him, though, with Zach Wheeler of the Philadelphia Phillies facing the Toronto Blue Jays and Kevin Gausman, and Luis Castillo set to face the Texas Rangers. Plenty of other pitchers below that set of big names that are exciting as well. Some top offenses to look at today as well for today’s DFS lineups, with some of my favorites being the New York Yankees, Seattle Mariners, Pittsburgh Pirates, Houston Astros, and the Los Angeles Dodgers. Plenty of exciting routes to go when building your lineups for the day, so let’s dive into some of my favorite value options of the day!

MLB DFS Value Pitchers

Eduardo Rodriguez, Detroit Tigers (DraftKings: $9,100 / FanDuel: $9,700)

Eduardo Rodriguez looks like he is finally here to stay. In what has been an extremely disappointing season for the Detroit Tigers, who a year ago seemed to be on the brink of finally getting better, Eduardo Rodriguez has been a lone bright spot. Eduardo’s best pitch has always been his changeup, but now he is throwing it more than any other pitch and it is working. In his last 4 starts, he has 30 strikeouts with only 3 walks through 28.2 innings and he has only given up one run over that stretch. He gets to face the Cleveland Guardians, who in his last start against them was the start of that 4-game stretch, and he went 8 innings with 10 strikeouts and only gave up 4 runs. Even if they have nothing else, I believe the Tigers have found their Ace in Eduardo Rodriguez

Josiah Gray, Washington Nationals (DraftKings: $6,200 / FanDuel: $9,000)

The Washington Nationals are far from good still, but they have had far more bright spots than the Detroit Tigers, with a big part of that being their young arms. Josiah Gray has looked great so far this season with a 3.03 ERA along with a 1.34 WHIP. His biggest struggle early in his career has been the long ball. Last year he had a 2.30 HR/9 over 148.2 innings but this season, he has brought that down to a 1.16 HR/9. His opponent today in the San Francisco Giants lead the league in strike-out rate against right-handed pitching at 27%. I think this is a great matchup for Josiah to continue his good season and hopefully get a big number of strikeouts, and is extremely cheap, especially on DraftKings.

MLB DFS Value Hitters

Gabriel Moreno, C Arizona Diamondbacks (DraftKings: $3,400 / FanDuel: $2,600)

Gabriel Moreno has legit plate skills and is looking to become one of the best-hitting catchers in the league. He is hitting .315 on the year and .355 over his last 10 games. While the batting average hasn’t come with a lot of power, it is likely that the power will continue to develop, as he certainly has plenty of raw power and athleticism to tap into as he continues to get more confident at the plate. Even without the power, if he continues to hit at the clip he has been, he will most likely return value at the price he is going for. Facing Edward Cabrera today, I like the Diamondback's offense and think Moreno is easily the best value option at the catcher position.

Luis Garcia, 2B Washington Nationals (DraftKings: $3,300 / FanDuel: $2,800)

It is a small sample, but nonetheless, Luis Garcia is crushing left-handers so far this season. Pretty rare for left-handed hitters to dominate against left-handed pitching, but Luis Garcia doesn’t seem to be having any problem seeing left-handers this season. He has a 1.011 OPS against left-handers and today gets to face Sean Manaea, who has been struggling on the mound this season. Manaea has a 7.33 ERA and a 1.63 WHIP, along with a 2.31 ERA this season. While the Washington Nationals haven’t provided much value when it comes to fantasy this season, this is a matchup that they might be able to do something with. Even if the rest of the team doesn’t do much, I think Luis can keep up the dominant hitting against lefties today and easily return this value against Sean Manaea.

Chris Taylor 3B/SS Los Angeles Dodgers (DraftKings: $3,000 / FanDuel: $3,000)

Chris Taylor has come alive at the plate recently. He is known for being a streaky player and in his last seven games, is slashing .429/.478/.952, along with 2 home runs and 2 stolen bases. I am willing to jump on a hot streak with Chris Taylor and see how far he can take it. Wade Miley has been pretty good on the mound this year with an ERA of 2.31, but with an xERA of 4.01, I expect some regression to come from him, and this Dodgers lineup could very easily be the team to do it. Chris Taylor having real significant fantasy value is probably behind him, but he still is going to have these streaks where he is fantastic, so I am willing to grab the value until he cools back down.

Harrison Bader, OF New York Yankees (DraftKings: $3,800 / FanDuel: $3,000)

Harrison Bader has given the New York Yankees life that they desperately need right now. In his first 6 games of the season, he is slashing .381/.409/.857 and while there is obviously no way he keeps up that pace, I think Bader is a great baseball player and should find some success on this Yankees team. Bader is going to continue to play every day for this Yankees team full of injuries and needing every bat they can get, and it helps that Bader also plays fantastic defense in the outfield to keep him out there every day for now. Facing an easy opponent today in Kyler Muller of the Oakland Athletics, I am confident Bader will keep up his hot start and very easily return this value, being priced way too cheap coming off the injured list.
